Nice large rooms with beautiful views. The bed was very good, the shower was strangely mounted and required some climbing, so less suitable for people who are worse in the legs (by age or having too many parties in the village ;-) ) The swimming pool was cold, but the view from here at the sunset is beautiful. The breakfast buffet is of moderate quality, there are enough rooms around for a delicious breakfast. The hotel has a parking area and very centrally located, all highlights of Vang Vieng are walkable.

Based on the online pictures and reviews we thought we were getting a real deal. The price point was less than $20usd a night. In reality, this is a less than $20 a night kind of hotel, not an amazing discounted deal. The pool and view are it's only redeeming features. The reception area is basic, although the staff do know some English. The design is a real concrete block style. The room is lacking any decor, just the bed (which is particularly hard) and a dark outdated bathroom without screen or curtain for the shower. The hotel is about 10mins walk from town, as expected, although if I had my time again I would stay more central. The hotel didn't appear to do breakfast (despite this being an option on Agoda) so it's quite a walk to the closest place for sometime eat. (Naked expresso is the pick for a coffee!) The pool was sparkly clean (and granted the rooms were clean), and the view to the mountains was lovely. I liked that they had a water cooler for filling up bottle at reception, however wouldn't stay again.

Serious issue with water pump, interrupting water or working at very low pressure throughout the day. Swimming pool is great. Breakfast is ok, a bit basic. The hotel and the room are very clean and bright. Everything you need is available. Hot water is at the front desk. The breakfast is simple and delicious. It’s just that the boss answered most of the questions he asked with a gentle smile and didn’t know 🤷. Definitely worth the money.

The hotel proprietress is very friendly, the hotel is clean and tidy, there is a swimming pool in the hotel lobby to go down to bubble water, the seat is also very convenient, you can go to the night market within 5 minutes of walking out of the hotel, the hotel or the street are sold on the itinerary can be free to choose

This hotel must have been the bees knees before the Amari was built next door. It does appear to have been left to deteriorate over the last two years of covid lockdowns, but dont let that deter you. Room had a great view and balcony, the pool was great and clean. I really hope they get the bar and restaurant up and runnibg again and dust off the sun beds (they were stacked away in a room), as this hotel has potential to return to its former glory.

The view from the rooftop bar is also very good. The service is warm and there are Chinese-speaking service staff at the front desk. It is much better than Eden where I stayed the night before.

This hotel was the best during my 5-day trip to Laos.
The price and quality are worth it.
I have stayed at various hotels in Southeast Asia, but this hotel is definitely a 4 star.
Unfortunately, there is a difference between this hotel and the 5 star hotels, but I think this hotel is one of the best 4 star hotels.
First of all, the location is good.
Vang Vieng is a small city. The central area is shaped like an oval, and if you stay within that circle, you can't go wrong. This is something I learned after staying there for 3 days.
There is a convenience store that is open 24 hours a day right in front of this hotel. There are almost no convenience stores in the city, and there is only one other convenience store that is open 24 hours a day.
So having a convenience store right in front of you can be a big advantage.
The fruit smoothie shop next to the hotel is very cheap and delicious. I have traveled to various countries in Southeast Asia, including Vietnam, Thailand, Malaysia, Singapore, and Cambodia, but there is no store that can beat the taste and price of this one. What's more, it is open until midnight. It's only a 5-second walk from the hotel, and it's so cheap that it's practically like a hotel drink bar.
Next is the staff's service.
Basically, everyone can understand English. This is not common in hotels in Laos, so it's a big plus.
And the staff are kind and friendly. For example, when I asked, ”I want to rent an electric bicycle. Do you know a good shop?”, they replied, ”I'll call someone from the shop and have them bring the bicycle to the front of the hotel, of course, there's no extra charge.”
It's common in Japan, but I was surprised to be able to have such an exchange overseas, especially in Southeast Asia.
By the way, for some reason I ended up going directly to the electric bicycle shop later, and the price was exactly the same.
To return the bicycle, I only had to leave the key at the hotel front desk, which was very helpful. When traveling to Vang Vieng, an electric bicycle is definitely a must (of course, a motorbike is fine, but bicycles are not allowed), so this kind of service is very much appreciated.
Also, one day I returned to the hotel in heavy rain, and they brought me a bath towel. I was very grateful because I couldn't go back to my room soaking wet.
When I asked for recommendations on restaurants in the evening, they gave me some recommendations and asked me with a grin, ”Massage? Lao Girl?” (It's great that it ends when you say no, whereas street vendors are persistent even if you say no). In short, the staff were wonderful.
As for the room, there were no problems.
The bed and furniture were clean and beautiful. However, the door was a little old (no problem in use), and there was an inevitable problem with insects. This was the case in all hotels in Laos, so there was probably nothing that could be done about it.
Also, when I returned to the room on the second day, there was a slight sewage smell. This is also common in other countries. I was bothered by this smell in the tower apartment I lived in in Malaysia.
It would be better if they had insect repellent or deodorizing spray.
The breakfast was neither good nor bad.
When I chose the hotel, all the plans included breakfast, so I think of it as a ”free breakfast,” but if it was free, I would be satisfied with it.
In addition, the shared spaces were cool and clean, so there was nothing to complain about at this hotel. I had to choose between staying at a ”hotel with many reviews and average ratings” or a ”hotel with few reviews but high ratings,” so I chose the latter and I'm glad I made the right choice.
Vang Vieng was a wonderful city.
I'll definitely come back, and when I do, I'll stay at this hotel.

GGuest UserI just went to Vangrong on a business trip. I saw a sign of ”Sichuan and Chongqing People” on Highway 13, so I went in to ask and found that many Chinese people live here. The environment is very good, with independent bathroom and air conditioning. You can see hot air balloons and paragliders and the sun rising and setting nearby every day. The most important thing is that the boss and his wife are very enthusiastic, and you can also eat authentic Sichuan cuisine, which is very good👍🏻

GGuest UserWonderful stay Alex has the highest sense of hospitality, honesty and helpfulness towards guests. He helped us to get last minute hot air balloon tickets, shared a lot of useful information and hosted us for two days all this with pure hospitality and without profit interest. Room was clean and with a great view over the mountains. The hotel is charming and made us feel at home. The location is quiet and perfect with loads of good restaurants around at night and a lovely market some early mornings.

The food was delicious. Staying means enjoying the atmosphere and not going anywhere. At night it rained In the morning, the mountains were misty and very beautiful. You really picked the right day.

GGuest UserLocated right in the centre, a short walk from everything you could need. The family who own the hotel were so helpful and attentive, even booking our bus for us when we left. Nothing was too much trouble! Great value for money. The pool was amazing and had the sun on it all day. Lots of options for breakfast and tea & coffee available to help yourself to all day. Very spacious bedroom and bathroom, which was cleaned daily. 10/10 would stay again!

There is free filtered water and free breakfast (various choices of how you can have your eggs cooked, fresh fruit, bread, instant coffee and tea). They also clean daily and the AC in the room works very well. The internet is fine for browsing, but not stable or reliable enough for video calls. It's centrally located.

GGuest UserThe rooms are average but nothing special, some hostel rooms in the area have been equally as nice or better. There was an issue with the hot water which lasted 12 hours, the water turned brown and smelt disgusting. There was no communication from the hotel about this, we had to check with them to be told that it would be looked at later on in the day. Hotel grounds and pool are okay but a bit run down. Breakfast was okay. The buffet food and hot drinks were left to run out and customers would have to request more and then wait. We had two bags of laundry done at the hotel and only had one was returned so wasted time trying to track the remaining clothes which we eventually got. We had asked the reception to book a TukTuk to get to the train station on the last day however they didn’t book this for us and we waited 15 minutes for another, causing us to almost miss our train. The reception staff aren’t welcoming and do the bare minimum. Wouldn’t recommend.
