After a long summer working hard on our Allotment, where here in the northern part of the UK, because of the amount of rain we had and lack of regular sunshine, this all contributed to what was a poor crop/harvest (although excellent weather for weeds and the grass!) we decided to visit Crete for the first time. We were not disappointed with our choice of holiday destination and travelling around the Northern section of the Island and all it has to offer, we found fantastic places to visit, to eat and taste the local wine, but the most enduring part of our holiday was how impressed we were with its people, especially so at The Royal Blue Resort. You really wouldn't have known that it was coming to the end of the season for the staff and with most of them working 6 days a week, for the past six months, everyone we had a touch point with, was still delivering first class service for all your needs and it really could have been the start of the season for them. We felt so lucky to have booked 5 nights at The Royal Blue Resort and it is the perfect place to lie back, unwind and enjoy those special moments in life. Thank you to all, for making our stay so perfect.

On our arrival, we were asked for our passports, to realise, we had lost them!! As you can imagine, panic and worry set in 🙈 the lady on reception (I think her name was Eva) was so reassuring and told us not to worry, and that she would phone the transfer company to try and locate them for us, and for us to just enjoy our vacation. Within a few hours, she had arranged for the transfer company to deliver them back to the hotel. Such a relief - thank you Eva for saving our holiday 😊 So, now I've got the stressful part out the way, let's get down to this wonderful hotel. The hotel is clean, modern and peaceful 😌 everything is quite basic, but has all you need for a relaxing holiday! The location of this hotel is nothing short of incredible 😍 Bali is absolutely stunning, and this hotel is located on the beach front of a beautiful beach, with crystal clear warm waters 😍 so warm, that me and the husband (and a few others) had late night swims (I'm talking after 10pm and still warm!), and so clear that you can see all the fish 🐠 There are a few lovely tavernas/bars on the beach front and a little shop, so it has everything you need within a few hundred meters. If you do want to travel a little further, there is a little train type vehicle that takes you around to other beaches ect for 5€, we utilised this and visited every beach in the area, all of which were lovely. Breakfast was pretty basic, but enough there to choose from every morning (eggs, omelette, pancakes, cereal, fruit, breads ect) and it's set by the pool with a beautiful view 😌 All the staff we found really kind and helpful. I emailed the hotel prior to arrival, to explain that our stay was a suprise anniversary trip for my husband, and offered to pay for them to add some rose petals on the bed ect, but they kindly offered to do this for free, and they also gifted us with a bottle of wine and card, which I thought was really sweet. Honestly, I can't recommend this hotel and location enough 😍 we had the best time here and would a million percent return! If you are looking for a laid back, relaxing, picturesque holiday... look no further 😁

GGuest UserIt was a perfect stay experience. I arrived at the hotel after 8 pm. Everything was very thoughtful from the moment I walked in. The young lady who received me was beyond beautiful. I was pleasantly surprised to be upgraded to a room. The entire hotel is very new and beautiful, and there are many things you can experience, including various swimming pools, spas, and private beaches. Every hotel employee is very service-minded and all requests are met. We stayed at this hotel for a whole day and it was a completely relaxing vacation. If I could, I would give 10 stars

After a long summer working hard on our Allotment, where here in the northern part of the UK, because of the amount of rain we had and lack of regular sunshine, this all contributed to what was a poor crop/harvest (although excellent weather for weeds and the grass!) we decided to visit Crete for the first time. We were not disappointed with our choice of holiday destination and travelling around the Northern section of the Island and all it has to offer, we found fantastic places to visit, to eat and taste the local wine, but the most enduring part of our holiday was how impressed we were with its people, especially so at The Royal Blue Resort. You really wouldn't have known that it was coming to the end of the season for the staff and with most of them working 6 days a week, for the past six months, everyone we had a touch point with, was still delivering first class service for all your needs and it really could have been the start of the season for them. We felt so lucky to have booked 5 nights at The Royal Blue Resort and it is the perfect place to lie back, unwind and enjoy those special moments in life. Thank you to all, for making our stay so perfect.

We recently returned from a lovely stay in the Iberostar Creta Marine, i have summarized some key points from our stay below :) ILLNESS: If i'm honest, when i read the reviews prior to coming on this holiday i was dreading it based on the reviews around people getting ill. I was actually close to cancelling because i didn't want to go on holiday to get sick. However, my husband refused to cancel and we travelled in a group of 4 adults and 1 toddler and no one caught the infamous ”bug” and we didn't hear of any other families suffering from the ”bug” either. There are hand sanitisers on every table in every restaurant, including at the entrance of the main buffet restaurant (which a staff member was regularly encouraging people to sanitise their hands prior to entering the restaurant). The hotel is spotlessly clean and to be honest i don't think the hotel could of done more than they already were to stop the spread of any germs. CHECK IN: The rose given to female guests at check in was a lovely touch. We were also given a sandwich as the restaurant was closed by the time we arrived. ANIMATION TEAM: The animation team made our stay at this hotel. They are beyond amazing and try and get everyone involved in the activities (but no pressure to take part). The animation team are such a fun group and we really enjoyed taking part in the music quiz in the pool. I wish we had taken part in the other activities, but with a toddler in tow it wasn't always easy. Matea is a ray of sunshine and honestly such a blessing to the hotel. We loved chatting to her every day and she always made time to say hi to my son, Leo. I have no idea how she remembers everyone's names! We only went to one evening show during our stay as our son was usually overtired by the time the nighttime activities started, but the African acrobat show was incredible! POOLS: We spent all our time at the main pool because we liked the atmosphere. The pools are cold when you first go in but fine and refreshing when you're in. Most days there were still plenty of sun loungers by 10:30am. Staff also came round the pool at around midday with fruit skewers which was a lovely touch. Apart from the full activity programme, there was also a tzatziki demonstration, Oktoberfest celebration and happy hour at the main pool during our week stay. STAFF: The staff were lovely and couldn't do enough for you. Matea deserves a special mention (again). Two Maria's and Manolis in the restaurant all made such an effort with my son and fist pumped him every time they walked past (which he loved and we appreciated so much as he looked for them every day). All the staff are super welcoming to kids which was lovely. SPA: I went for a massage on my last day and it was amazing!! Highly recommend a visit to the spa.
