Just returned from an overnight spa suite treat offer for one of my grandaughters 21st treats. Hotel was lovely big suite a little tired but nice. Nice spa pool and outside pool lovely used the sauna. Treatment was very good. The offer was for overnight and spa day Monday with treatment. When I phoned to check if needed to book times for treatment was tol booked in on the Sunday at 15.00 was bit confused so called back on Saturday to check why treatment was Sunday and not within the spa Monday was told that’s all we had available but you can arrive early before your check in. We arrived early and used the spa and had our treatments then checked in to our room. Glad we did as made it the spa day really on Sunday. On arrival the receptionist was hidden behind the desk lolling in her chair not very helpful. We booked a table and went down for dinner not a soul to be seen nobody behind bar or to check us in waited a while then someone came. Dinner was very nice but not a soul in the restaurant felt very peculiar no atmosphere. Evening receptionist very helpful. Breakfast was better organised. Same receptionist when we checked out as previous day to say couldn’t be bothered slumped in chair again and no good morning thank you or did you enjoy your stay. However we enjoyed ourselves and would return for a day spa but not to stay.

Like, I imagine, a number of guests we booked as we had a reservation at one Bray’s restaurant. Our dinner reservation was cancelled due to a Covid outbreak but thought we would go anyway. So glad we did. We were upgraded to a huge room overlooking the river with its own balcony and massive bathroom. the decor is fabulous, location on the river very tranquil, lovely breakfast, Honesty bar with great wines and welcoming hosts. I wonderful antithesis to your usual hotel clone. In the summer they have a river boat for trips or for arriving in style at the waterside inn. Soak up its personality. We will be back.

Very good hotel, the environment is very good, the staff service is warm and friendly.
There is a small hot spring (which is actually a small swimming pool) and comes with free fruit tea and fruit.
There are many places to play around, suitable for self-driving or cycling
The only thing I felt a little downside was the bed was a bit small, the two of us slept a bit crowded, the introduction was a twin room but the bed was actually small
Breakfast was great! highly recommended! Perfect English breakfast
3 stars but could easily have been better.. We were given a v friendly welcome by nice staff and maintenance men (!) and were allowed to park our cars prior to the official checkin time as we and our friends were having lunch at the Waterside at Bray to celebrate various anniversaries. I booked executive room 104 which was one of the refurbished rooms. Large room with Beautiful big windows overlooking the river. Quiet outside at night although we could hear the shower running next door and voices upstairs above us so soundproofing not ideal. Bed very comfortable. Room was clean. Tiny toiletries and teeny biscuits but adequate for a one night stay. At 8:15 the following morning the water was tepid at best… so get up early if you want a hot shower! Dinner was sadly a letdown. A very long wait for starters and main courses . There were only two other tables of diners. My mushrooms on toast was v ordinary with very boring dry bread rolls split in half and not enough sauce and the main of chicken Kiev had minimal garlic and parsley butter inside. The mashed potato was delicious however….brocolli and carrots nicely cooked. Breakfast was frustrating. We were there by 9am so not late.. We kept having to ask for basics like butter and bread for toast. Which were then bought out as requested. And half an hour before end of service the chafers and toaster were switched off and trays of butter, jam etc removed. Croissants and bacon were good. Such a shame the food lets it down but I would stay at the hotel again … but eat elsewhere.

We had a wonderful Ruby Wedding lunch party celebration for 70 people at Grovefield House Hotel on Sunday. Our guests were able to choose in advance from a three-course menu and commented on how delicious each of their choices were. The children were also able to preorder choices from their own three-course menu. Hotel Manager Ashley was helpful, efficient and highly professional throughout. We were grateful to him and to Lauren, Shelley, Chinwe, Adam, and all the lovely team on the day for their friendly, professional and generous hard work. They could not have done more for us. Guests with families also commented on how helpful they were with the children. The tables were laid out beautifully and we loved the pretty flowers and candles added by florist Debby Connell. Thank you all so much for a fantastic and memorable day, we couldn’t have enjoyed it more. We look forward to seeing you again before long and enjoying more of the exciting new things on offer at Grovefield!
