Mercure London Heathrow - Saturday 19th November 2022 - 15:15 Entrance is on street level door and has automatic doors. On arrival there was a coach party queuing and the queue went out the main door. I joined that queue and eventually checked in approximately 20 minutes after I joined the queue. The male receptionist seemed flustered and the female receptionist didn’t seem to be doing much. I’ve checked into other hotels where I have been part of a coach group and they normally make us all stand to one side and then call individuals/ couple over to check in; that way when other guest arrive at least one of the receptionist can switch to the new guest and then they don’t have to join a long queue and be inconvenienced. Our room was on the ground floor but I did see lifts. Room: The usual things like a hairdryer, iron in the wardrobe, fridge and safe in a cupboard and on top of the cabinet was the coffee/ tea facilities but no spoons to stir your drinks. Big TV - there seem to be a decent amount of channels my only issue was the back of the control was missing so you had to jiggle the batteries to get it to work; I took a photo just in case they try to charge me for damage. Bed was comfy, pillows were ok. There is a lamp and spotlight either side of the bed. The switch on the wall by the bed operates the main light, you switch the lamp/ spotlight off using two black buttons under the arm of the lamp; not an obvious way to control the light. A desk with lamp and phone, quite handy if you have some work to do. Bathroom: Floors a bit weird, it looks like they have stuck some Christmas paper over the original tiles to cover something up, poor workmanship, looks cheap, not a good look. Usual towels and shampoos and things; I was going to use the bath mat in the shower but when I saw how dirty and stained it was I didn’t bother. The sealant around the sink and bath taps needs redoing and there is rust around the bathroom taps. Toilet handle is a bit loose and it took 3 attempts to get it to flush. Parking: There are two levels to the parking, I drove into the top level, very tight parking and for a hotel of this size there isn’t enough spaces. I informed the reception I’d parked my car and was informed of the £16 charge for 24 hours. I paid my fee and entered my registration on a system. Bar: Small bar but plenty of seating. We asked a member of staff at what time the bar closed and we were told last orders were at 22:45 which would imply if you went to the bar at this time you could still get a drink. At 22:40 they were cashing up the till. Initially when you walk in the room it looks really nice but then you notice the faults. This morning I went to get something from the car and as I walked through reception you could see the tables from last night hadn’t been cleared as they still had glasses on tables from last night. Free parking right outside premises, nice greeting from host. I was in a room on 1st floor, which had a double bed and a desk. In room was also a fridge for guest use. Bathroom was a shared bathroom. The bed was not comfortable, I could feel the join in the divan base through the thin matress. The cup provided in the room had a chip in the rim. The shower took a long time in the morning to come to temperature. Not all of the TV channels in the room provided a good,constant picture.

This place is perfect value for money! Clean, comfortable and super lovely staff that were soooo accommodating to my fussy requests 😊. There’s even an outdoor garden you can sit and enjoy, which is a bonus for accommodation. A perfect spot to stay if you’re heading to Heathrow!

We were checked in by Ali late last night & he met us again this morning & brought our bags downstairs. Our room was 204 which was a twin room, we had a powerful hot shower in the morning which is just what we needed before our flight. The room was clean, bathroom could do with a bit of superficial patchwork but for £100 last minute booking so close to Heathrow this was definitely the best deal we could find. Ali was very helpful & friendly & rang a taxi for us in the morning. Would stay here again before catching our flights.

The man is not only a stellar person, but runs a clean and secure bed and breakfast. I stayed only for a night before catching a plane back to America in the AM. I had left my had at the excellent indian restaurant right next door and he mailed it back to me!! That was the greatest gesture of decency I've had from any hotel ever. One more reason to appreciate the people of the Uk. I can't wait to return, it won't be soon enough.

This excellent hotel is a good value. The room was spacious, clean and comfortable. The staff were friendly and helpful. There were nice extra touches like delicious chocolates provided for free. It was perfect for attending a conference at Brunel University. The hotel is attached to a good pub. It is just a short, convenient bus ride to Heathrow or to the pleasant shopping area in Uxbridge and the tube. This is a much better value than staying in London.

The room was plenty big with two double beds and these were very comfortable. The room was warm and we needed to keep the window open, maybe they should reduce the temperature in the rooms. The staff were absolutely brilliant and polite without doubt no faults there. The spa was ok. We stayed 3 night in the hotel and the beds were never made since we first arrived, no fresh towels any day arrived at the room and room or bin in the room never cleaned. The food in the bar was only ok it’s would be ok if you just wanted a snack after getting back to the hotel or before leaving. We arrived on the sat and sat and sun nights we slept great but then when the students arrived back to collage the Monday night we couldn’t sleep with all the shouting, noise, and music so loud across the road in that accommodation or wherever they were. To make it worse we had to close the window due to the noise and then as a result the room was very hot. 100% to the staff they were fantastic and any hotel would be glad to have them. Usually in some cases the staff let the hotel down but in this case this hotel let their staff down by bad management.

Room was warm and cosy. Positioned in an ideal place just outside London but without all the hustle and bustle. Fridge in room was handy. Kindly catered for us and our 3 dogs. Large Tesco just a few minutes drive away which was handy and not too far from the A40/M40.
