Prices start at £4 or £5 per night... This is an old castle hotel on the west side of the Scottish Highlands. From a common area point of view everything is well done and impeccable. But from the point of view of the rooms...the price/performance ratio is obviously super low. The facilities are outdated, so I asked for a humidifier... A hair dryer that was produced 20 years ago came, which was completely unacceptable and had no humidifying effect at all. The shower room has very strict requirements on the size of the guests, and I personally feel that the water pressure can be further improved and improved. The laudable point is that the shampoo, conditioner, shower gel and soap in the bathroom...all have two ball royal certifications, and the quality is also carried. The cold and hot water device of the washbasin is a traditional separate type, which is the kind of water that you either use cold water or hot water, and it cannot be warm water anyway. The sofa in the guest room is made of fabric. The disadvantage is that you can't see whether it has lice or whether it is clean. Anyway, it is so old that people don't want to sit on it at all. The carpet is lint-free, which means it's ”aged”. Well, let's talk about the public area: the restaurant's production is still quite standard, with Michelin standards, whether it's dinner or breakfast... It's pretty good, but the quality of the coffee is not good. The service staff are warm, courteous, serious and smiling. There are several casual living rooms and even dining rooms in the indoor public area, all of which are luxurious, comfortable, freehand, and comfortable, and there is nothing to fault. There are a large number of areas in the outdoor woods and paths that need to be improved, such as greening projects. One last thing to add: parking is free. After all, the owner, Mr. Chai, is a Chinese from Southeast Asia. The land of the ancient castle covers an area of 5,000 acres... If parking charges are required... it would be too stingy. In general...you can say that it is an ancient European style, but I personally think that the ancient European style does not necessarily need to update or refresh the facilities and furniture. Especially with such a large area, if the greening is not done well... it really responds to the old saying ”gold and jade are outside, and there is nothing in it”.
I really like this hotel. The view is amazing, and the reception is very friendly. They also have a restaurant and bar downstairs, which is really a saver for us after a long day of driving.
Really great Hotel. Cheapest around as well so don’t really get when people book cheap hotels and complain that it’s not 5* 😂. Location is amazing. The Loch is beautiful. Staff are really nice. Rooms have everything you need and are quite spacious. Food is really good although a wee bit expensive but still good sized portions.

The room is so small in a small town, everything else is superb. 9 minutes walk from the railway station. The breakfast is delicious, you must choose the Scottish style breakfast, with sausage and black pudding.
The hotel is in a good location, with a lake on one side and a commercial street on the other. Parking is convenient. If the hotel parking lot is full, you can park the public parking lot 50 meters away and stay free before 8:00. The house is older, the room is small, and the facilities are old. The staff is very welcoming and the attitude is very good.
When I got to the hotel, I was asked to pay a little bit more than what was advised by trip.com, but every penny was worth it!
Location is great, staff are very friendly and welcoming, the room was absolutely fantastic, and the full Scottish breakfast was generous and tasty. The only disappointment was I couldn't get a bath because the bathtub obturating plug didn't work properly. However, the overall experience was good. Thank you!
This was quite a dated hotel although located right in the centre of the town with free parking facilities. However, the hotel room was really dated although the toilet seems to have been recently updated but was really small. The price of the room was also pricey as compared with the state of the rooms. The hotel exterior although fit in with the theme but the sign had one letter that dropped out. Overall, I think the hotel is too dated and pricey.
We were looking for accommodation in the Lochaber area as a base for a kayaking weekend, and Corran bunkhouse fit the bill perfectly. Everything is good quality, and the rooms are clean and functional - ours had a nice ensuite too. There is a large common room with comfy seating and a log burner which was a nice place to relax, but we usually ended up sitting in the communal dining kitchen. The kitchen had everything you could need to make from snacks to big meals, and there was plenty of food storage and fridge space. Plenty of space to sit and eat too. A really big plus was the two drying rooms, one off the kitchen which had a dehumidifier, and another outside, which allowed lots of wet gear to be dried quickly - a real bonus if you're there for a few days. The owner Alan couldn't be more helpful, and gave us tips on the best places to eat wherever we were going. I can thoroughly recommend getting the ferry over to Ardgour to the pub for food. A minute from the bunkhouse, its free for foot passengers, the crossing takes about 5 minutes, and is a nice way to go to dinner. Overall i cant recommend the place highly enough. A modern, clean and enjoyable place to spend a night or two.
We booked a family room for 2 nights. Room wasn't ready when we checked in at 3pm. Room did not look like any of the website photos as it seems there are no photos of the family rooms on the website. The room was very basic - only 2 coat hangers for 6 beds. Double bed against wall is not a comfortable option as you have to climb over partner to get in and out of bed. No chairs or anywhere to sit. TV doesn't have signal and there's nowhere to sit and watch it from anyway. Very slow wi-fi, so almost impossible to cast to TV. The emergency exit light on the ceiling was taped up. The kettle is not big enough for more than 2 people at a time, and it doesn't fit into the tiny sink to fill. View of car park - not the mountain or forest view as advertised. All in all the room was adequate for our stay but hugely over priced for what it was. The Nevis Range Bar was disappointing too, mainly because they weren't serving the full menu but you aren't made aware of that when you book. The toilets in the main facility needed cleaning, no loo roll or soap. It seemed that they had't been attended to the whole weekend we were there.
