Receptionist friendly and helpful A feeling that the young staff hadn't been trained adequately not supervised. They were helpful but little things like table not set correctly no side plates. Trying to have a quiet breakfast and staff were chatting and giggling behind us. Member staff had torn leggings. Generally expected staff to be dressed smartly for a Best Western. Our bedroom was large and comfortable lovely view outside window. Unfortunately at night we were unable to get to sleep due to people drinking in the conservatory part until 2pm. My partner had to shout out of window politely saying ”did they know what time it was”. The hotel, in our view, should have a policy with regard to no outdoor drinking after midnight for consideration of other customers.

This was our second visit although the first was a few years ago. we had forgotten how lovely it is. Hotel was really busy because they had 2 weddings and it was Bank holiday weekend . Despite all that, the staff were very friendly, pleasant and efficient. Obviously used to keeping cool calm and collected. Well done evereyone

Nice overnight stay with friends. Deal included room, evening meal (£25 allowance pp) and breakfast. Hotel was bigger than I expected and there was a wedding and a birthday party but we didn’t really notice them. Lots of different seating areas and a couple of bars. Good leisure and fitness centre. Also a tennis court and play area. Nice grounds and outdoor seating areas if the weather had been better. Big car park. Room was in the Pavillion annexe so a few steps outdoors to get to main building. Decor was outdated but it was very clean and spacious with a patio on ground floor/balcony on upper floors. Comfy bed and pillows. Tea and coffee and other usual facilities. Staff very friendly from check in to waiting staff in restaurant. Mostly quiet except for children running up and down the corridors/stairs but that’s down to the parents 🙄 not the hotel. Food in the Flame restaurant was very good. Pub 5 mins walk down road was very accommodating too. Handy location off A417. Returning customers get 10% off. Only downside was not being able to get a hot drink in the restaurant or bar after 10pm. Very unusual in a hotel. I was desperate for a cuppa after dinner while we were sitting and chatting quietly in bar but had to wait until I got back to room, which was a bit late. Wasn’t the only one who asked and was disappointed. Shouldn’t be difficult to organise. Maybe a machine in the lounge area? I’ll take my insulated mug next time!

We hired the Parliament Room for our party. Laura and Alisha arranged everything we asked for, from the room layout, to the amazing food for the night. We had lots of comments about how good it was. We are so pleased that we chose The Tawny as everyone had an amazing evening. Thanks again to all the staff involved. Kev & Caron xx

Beautiful and lovely surroundings. A lot to choose from for breakfast. Most of the staff are nice, but there is one guy who is not that nice very rude the way he talks and answering questions. There is two glass in the bathroom which is fine but if you request for a glass to drink in the room they will still bring you the same kind of glasses to you. I think they should have different shapes of glass for different purposes. Also some of their tea cups are too big and is not classy at all.
