There is a pool, but there is no pool. The front desk service is not good, I feel that I am too lazy to take care of you, and seeing the child will force the extra bed to charge 35 fat one night, a bit arrogant. The room attendant was very nice and the waiter in the restaurant was very good.
The scenery around the hotel is very beautiful, right by the lake. It takes three minutes to walk to Peter Rabbit World and 10 minutes to walk to the cruise ship terminal. It is highly recommended.
We have stayed at the cranleigh three times in the past 12 months and can honestly say each stay just gets better and better! Due to unfortunate circumstances we had to change our booking with less than 24 hours notice, luckily the receptionist was amazing and took into account our situation and managed to change our booking for the following day, we were incredibly grateful to her and it made our day just a little bit less stressful. We were more than ready for a break when we arrived but we felt relaxed as soon as we checked into the Passion Suite. Beautiful decor and furnishings, spa bath big enough for two and an outdoor terrace to make the most of the rare sunny day we had while enjoying the complimentary cocktails. In the evening we enjoyed cocktails at the fizzy tarte then headed to BAHA for our evening meal, both establishments are beautiful, have amazing staff and the food at BAHA was delicious! After an amazing sleep in the comfortable bed, we enjoyed our cooked breakfast delivered to our room. Such a treat to be able to enjoy breakfast in private and again it was incredible- great choice of cooked and continental options. We went home feeling pampered and relaxed after a much needed break- but we can't wait to book and visit again!

I was afraid that the Lake District was too busy to book a hotel. I booked this hotel very early. The facts proved to be correct. There are too many people in the Lake District! We arrived at one o'clock in the afternoon, about twenty minutes walk from Windermere train station, which is a bit far away. This hotel is actually in Bowness, closer to the lake. You can't check in when you arrive, you need to wait until two o'clock in the afternoon. Our family had to wait to check in in the afternoon sun, and ate the sandwiches we brought with our suitcase as the table. Check in on time at two o'clock. The room is on the third floor, there is no elevator, the stairs are very narrow, and it is a bit difficult to carry luggage. It’s a pity that the room is good, although it is an old house, the facilities are relatively new and the bed is relatively large. It's less than ten minutes' walk from the lake, much closer than the train station. There are small supermarkets and restaurants near the hotel, which is more convenient. It must be noted that luggage storage is marked on the website. In fact, it is not allowed to deposit. It is six pounds at the visitor center, only until 5 pm.
I chose to stay at the villa on Lake Windermere in the Lake District for one night. The landlord was very Nice. The breakfast he made was delicious. The home was also very delicate and warm. [Smile], the villa is on the edge of the lake, there is a lake along the lake. The path can go to the cruise ship terminal and the town center, the scenery is beautiful
1. The location of the hotel is very good. It takes only 10 minutes to walk to the cruise ship terminal. There are many restaurants nearby and the accommodation is very convenient. The room is large and there is a living room, unexpected, but the living room side is on the bedside, next to the street, sooner or later, some noisy, especially the UK speed is generally faster, pay attention to it. Breakfast is prepared in advance bread yogurt cereal milk, some in the refrigerator, some in the locker, do not have too much expectations.
2. If you come by car, you will need a parking card with the front desk, which costs £3 a day. There are unlimited parking. There are several places to park. It is actually very convenient. When you leave, you can go to the parking lot to drive first, and put the key and parking card at the front desk when you come back.
Very good environment and accommodation, the whole hotel is a small resort with a very good environment. The room was clean and tidy, the apartment also had kitchen equipment and a full set of cutlery. The hotel is very close to the lake area and shopping is very close, very convenient. The Lake District is so beautiful! We will come again! recommend!
Thoroughly enjoyed our stay. Lovely cosy hotel, our room was very comfortable, shower was good as was the bath. Bed was very comfortable and we slept well both nights. It was very quiet. Breakfast was brought to your door in the morning at a time convenient for you and was really nice, choice of cereal, hot roll, yoghurt, juice, tea or coffee. There is a kettle with tea, coffee and milk in the room too. Wifi was good. Our host Jenny was super and very helpful with walks in the area. All in all I would definitely recommend staying here. Don't let the signs of building work outside put you off..it was not an issue at all.
We didn't receive check in instructions 3 days before as stated on our booking (via VRBO) so I had to contact the host. They responded quickly and said we would receive check in details on the day when the apartment was ready, which was a bit worrying! We received a text half an hour before check in. The apartment was nice but wasn't what we had booked (different aoartment!) and also had no parking despite specifically stating this on the booking. The host responded quickly and sent someone within a couple of hours to sort the beds into singles for the kids so that was fine. The beds were comfortable, the water was hot and the apartment was generally nice but unfortunately it was too noisy for me. The sweet shop downstairs plays loud radio all day and you can hear noise from other flats. Plus it's right on a road and one night we had some people loitering about outside screeching. Luckily I had earplugs! We were offered use of a parking space but there was often someone else in the space. There is a public car park across the road so it's not a big deal but the listing / booking should make this clear and not state that there is parking if there isn't. If booking via VRBO just check with the host what you are booking first!
I especially recommend this hotel, a old English villa, which is newly renovated and British style. It is very clean and full of toiletries. It is 3 minutes away from the town by car. The room can see part of the lake view and the surrounding environment. Very good, I especially like their afternoon tea, the tea set is very exquisite, and I look at it with great care! Part of the breakfast is buffet, and the main meal is à la carte, with a large portion and enough to eat! If you have children staying with you, you must tell the hotel in advance that the children need to charge a fee of £28.50/piece/night! This fee includes breakfast and extra bed. If it is not stated in advance, the fee will still be charged, but there will be no extra bed!
Expresso capsule coffee is provided free of charge in the room, which is my favorite. Those who like coffee are very surprised!

GGuest UserThe overall location of the room is good, very close to Lake Windermere, but the big slope at the door is a bit difficult to climb. We came here by bus 599, and we were exhausted climbing the slope with our suitcases.
The service is very good. The front desk was very enthusiastic after we arrived, and their butler Mike was very talkative. He introduced us to various facilities and had a pleasant chat with the baby. I felt that the service experience was very good as soon as I went there.
The family room we booked is very good. It has typical British windows, a small skylight, and the baby has his own small room. In short, I am super satisfied. Speaking of this, I have to add that the family room taken on the official website is too ugly. No window was taken, so I was worried that the room was not breathable.
The breakfast is still standard, nothing to say, the small courtyard is good, and it is great to come here for a relaxing vacation.
If there is a chance in the future, I will choose to stay here again and recommend it to my friends.
GGuest UserWe stayed in one of the individual 'chalet' style twin room bungalows lining the drive to the main house for 4 nights. These rooms offer a lot of privacy and are quiet with your own front door entrance and windows and balcony with table and chairs overlooking the very pretty and well tended gardens. The beds and bedding were really comfortable, you could control the radiators to your preferred temperature and the bathroom, whilst small, was functional with plenty of hot water and good quality towels. It was really helpful to have allocated parking right outside and all the chalets have this. It's a very short walk to the restaurant/reception. The small bar and restaurant is traditional in style and nicely laid out with many tables offering views of the beautiful gardens. There are plenty of cooked breakfast options and the produce and cooking is exceptional. We ate in the restaurant on two evenings on a DB&B rate. Lovely meals - the lamb cutlets and sea bass fillets in particular were knockout. As others have commented the staff and service is exceptional. From arrival to departure you are made to feel like a very valued guest and nothing is too much trouble from the incredibly efficient and friendly team. There are many other much higher end hotels who could learn customer service from the Burn How. Only a 5 minute walk down the hill to the lake and nearby shops and restaurants, just added to the benefits of staying here. We would definitely book this hotel again if visiting the area, and would highly recommend.
GGuest UserFrom the moment we arrived we were made to feel special and welcomed. We had drinks in the lounge area and veranda enjoying the spectacular views. The staff were all dressed smartly, and I got the impression they all loved working there. I had booked for my wife’s birthday and had also booked a table in the Henrock restaurant inside the hotel. The food was amazing, delicious and perfectly presented and served. Each delicious course was the lead up to the most amazing dessert I have ever eaten, and it was a rhubarb based dessert, which under normal circumstances is a contradiction where desserts are concerned normally, however this was an explosion of delicious tastes and textures. Would highly recommend this hotel and restaurant and we both hope to return, sooner rather than later.
GGuest UserOur views on our visit to The Belsfield Hotel are rather mixed. It is an imposing and impressive building in a fantastic location overlooking the lake. Check in was good with all required information provided. Unfortunately upon entering our room ( room 30 ) we were disappointed as it was not as I expected. I had booked a suite as we have done several times at other hotels . Previously we have found a suite has consisted of a separate room for relaxing with the bedroom attached. On this occasion it was a larger bedroom with a sitting area and small table for two. The hotel’s website does state that a suite may , or may not , have a separate lounge area and so on this occasion I accepted we had drawn the short straw . No issues there . However the website also states the suites offer stunning views and a roll top bath . There was no roll top bath as promised, only an older standard plastic panelled bath. As we are planning on restyling our bathroom assessing a roll top bath in practice was one of the features that swayed our decision to stay here . With regard to the stunning views . When sitting at the table in our room having a coffee before breakfast our view was what appeared to be an old , derelict greenhouse / storage building . Not exactly an appealing view to begin your day . When I mentioned this at check out I was told by the member of staff that another company deals with the website description and so nothing to do with him . A rather strange and dismissive response and not the lasting impression you want when leaving the hotel . Overall the hotel is a very enjoyable place to visit with several areas to relax on the ground floor . Sitting on the terrace overlooking the lake was fantastic and would thoroughly recommend it . A special mention for Lucien who did a fantastic job of providing cocktails and was very knowledgeable and proficient in this . A credit to the hotel . The hotel has so many good points that may , for some , outweigh the negatives around the room but unsure if we would return or recommend.
GGuest UserThe best hotel in the town! It has a big view, good facilities and is relatively new! Looking out from the window is like a painting! The bed is super big and very comfortable! The service is also very good
GGuest UserWent here for just an overnight on our wedding anniversary. We are in our 70's (just in my wife's case) and celebrating 23 years of a 'second chance' Room was perfect with large balcony, enabling us to make the most of a day of sunshine. Chocolates and wine left for us and everything spotless. From checking in to dining through advice on the area to checking out - staff were perfect in their attention. Had table as requested next to windows, for the view, for dinner Restaurant service also could not be faulted. In Ireland for a wedding on our anniversary next year but will need another visit here well before then.
