I traveled to Normandy to work in the area for 35 days, staying at the Campanile was an enjoyable part of the time in France. The staff were fantastic, everyone welcomed me like family and we all enjoyed the daily French/English lessons. My work schedule only allowed a few opportunities to eat dinner at Le Restaurant but those occasions were fabulous. The petit-dejeuner (breakfast) was always wonderful traditional French fare. Although this is an older motel the housekeeping is very good and my room was always clean and comfortable. I would recommend this hotel to other colleagues and I will definitely stay here again if I get the opportunity.

We stopped here for one night on our way back to the UK from the Algarve with our two dogs. Dogs are very welcome at all B&B Hotels, so you can easily plan your overnight stops without worrying about whether your dogs will be allowed in the hotel. Having stayed at quite a few B&B Hotels over the last couple of years, it was easy to compare this hotel to the others we have stayed in. For us, we found the location to be excellent; it was very quiet and easy to find. There is plenty of parking and a lovely grassy area outside for walking dogs. Our overnight stop was on a Sunday and all the nearby shops were closed. This hotel was a lot more expensive than all the other B&B Hotels we booked on this trip, so we were expecting something a bit special, and because of this, we were slightly disappointed. The breakfast option is also more expensive than other B&B Hotels at 10.50 euros instead of the usual 8.50 euros. The hotel is one of the older B&B Hotels, so the room was very small. The shower had a shower curtain rather than a glass screen as in the newer B&B Hotels, and overall the bathroom was a bit grubby. Despite this, we would definitely stay here again, because of the quiet location. As with most (not all) other B&B Hotels, there is a microwave oven in reception for guests to use, which is very helpful. The staff at this hotel are very helpful.

Campanile may be a simple style of hotel but this one proved to be perfect for our few days in Rouen. Sophie and her team were brilliant! They were so helpful and friendly, keeping us informed of what was going on in the town (a festival celebrating Joan of Arc) and how this affected local transport. (Immediately outside the hotel was a bus stop getting us down to the historic centre in about 15 minutes for 1.70 euros.) Sophie even took a photo in the nearby Carrefour of something we wanted to get for our grandchild! We had breakfast each day and it was plentiful and varied as well as being fresh and of good quality. We ate two evenings in the restaurant and were again very happy with what was on offer and the quality. We would not hesitate to come back both to Rouen and to this hotel.

Fantastic stay - plenty of space for 4 (double bed and 2 singles, once which folds down from the wall). Car parking at €20 per night (if I remember correctly!) - this was very tight to enter but plenty of spaces and our large estate car managed it). Super buffet breakfast which was good value at €21 per adult (kids were free). Excellent location - 10 minute walk to the main sights, we would not hesitate to return

ZzongshengwordThis hotel is marketed as a budget hotel and you may not chose it as it is out of town BUT this hotel is clean and looks just like the pictures, yes there is a bit of bare MDF in the rooms but everything was great. Aircon worked breakfast was plentiful bed very comfortable. We had room 278 and was very quiet as over looked the car park. Parking was on site and they have lifts to all the floors. They have fantastic areas for lounging all with USB ports for devices. Just two minutes up the road up a side street is a funky pop up burger bar that does an array of foods including the best steak I have ever had. The hotel has a save the planet ethos which can be seen with paper cups in the bathroom and decor. It was a real gem staying here and a bus stop only two minutes away takes you into town for 1.7euroes each way. I would never stay in the centre too busy and this hotel gives you the tranquillity you want on a holiday. There is a also a posh pastry shop nearby too

Ne vaut pas plus qu'un 2 ou maximum 3 étoiles Nous avions également réservé via le site de l'hôtel un parking extérieur Pour commencer hôtel très difficile à trouver inaccessible en voiture à par via une porte cochère A notre arrivée hotel était inaccessible car ils sont occupé à refaire la toiture . Quelle idée ce ne pas attendre la fin de la saison pour faire ces travaux surtout que la veille nous avions reçu la confirmation pour le parking. Heureusement personnel sympa nous a aidé à porter les valises de la place jusqu'à la réception. Une autre personne hyper dévouée nous a conduit vers le parking de la plage distant de 400 m de l'hôtel avec beaucoup de places libres et gratuit A notre arrivée les valises nous attendaient à la réception Mais ils nous réclamaient la taxe de séjour alors qu'elle avait était payée avant notre départ à Booking Heureusement nous avions la preuve car la réceptionniste ne nous croyait pas. La première chambre présentée ne possédait pas douche et impossible d'utiliser celle de la baignoire car le plafond était trop bas Comment est-ce possible pour un hôtel soi disant 4 étoiles Heureusement nous avons pu changer de chambre avec une douche Quelle idée de mettre une grosse couette par 15 degrés la nuit et airco inutilisable car bruyant et bloqué sur 19 degrés La chambre était très bruyante Très mauvaise isolation phonique On entendait tous les bruis de l'étage supérieure Le lendemain surprise il fallait traverser la cour et grimper un escalier de 20 marches non protégé de la pluie pour arriver à la salle de petit déjeuner avec de nombreuse plantes en plastic empêchant de s'installer confortablement à la moitié des tables Petit déjeuner avec beaucoup de fromages et charcuterie mais mini croissants et mini couque au chocolat comme dans un hôtel 2 étoiles Pourquoi pas de grand croissant et grandes couques au chocolat comme dans les hôtels de4 étoiles surtout que jus de fruit n'était pas froid (température ambiante) malgré que les étaient placés sur une plaque soi-disant conçue pour conserver les jus froids. A notre départ on nous a de nouveau demandé de payer la taxe de séjour et en plus on nous réclamé les petits déjeuner payés à l'avance. Est-ce une façon de se faire de l'argent en comptant sur la naïveté de certains clients ou une soi-disant panne informatique. La question est posée. La seule salle digne de 4 étoiles est la vue du bar et la qualité de ce qui y servi mais il faut de la patience. This hotel is was an absolute catastrophe! After check-in we went to our allocated hotel room only to discover a horrible smell and in general just a disgusting room; the bedsheet was covered with stains, a horrible smell (this was not only in the hotel room) and mold in the bedroom and toilet area. We had paid for 3 nights and 6 times breakfast, and according to *********** app if was possible to cancel the booking before 18:00. We went down to the receptionist (at 17:30) after we had stayed for around 30 minutes in the room and said, that we wanted a refund due to the room being disgusting and looking nothing like the pictures. The receptionist told us to use the refund button in the app so they could refund us, but as soon as we pushed the refund button, we (apparently) disappeared from their system and a refund was no longer possible. Then we contacted the manager at the hotel. According to the manager a refund of any sort was NOT possible. Since the manager only knew French and was not willing to help with our situation at all we contacted ***********. Nearly a month after the incident we were refunded for 2 nights and 6 times breakfast, leaving us paying around 100 euros for staying 30 minutes in the hotel room AND according to *********** the hotel had charge an extra amount (around 50 euro) more than they should. However, this we can not verify ourselves due to the hotel being unable to print our receipt. For obvious reasons we did request a receipt but that was NOT possible. Anyhow, several weeks later and after spending numerous hours on the telephone we were compensated for about 70% of the charged amount.

GGuest UserCampanile Hotels used to have such good food available to the weary traveller - now it would seem best to seek sustinence elsewhere after checking in. Not only was the usual menu not available the liomited choice on offer was so small as to be hardly worth bothering - more like take it or leave it. Eventually settled on the steak which was so chewy it beggars belief that it was served in a French Restaurant. Same story at the next Campanile that we had pre-booked. Sad to say, after many years of loyal use we will need to look elsewhere.

Unfortunately this “hotel” is the worst we have stayed in during our trip to France. When we arrived, the receptionist did not speak any English, but was nice enough and was able to give us our room numbers and codes. This is probably the only thing I can even slightly compliment. The next morning, there was another staff member who did speak English though. From there, you have two options to get to your room: the stairs or the lift. The lift is fully carpeted (walls too!), and feels like a cardboard box. If you choose to take the stairs, I would suggest wearing a mask. In fact, you should probably wear one throughout the hotel. as the smell is horrible. On the second day of our stay, the smell got even worse as it began smelling like sewage throughout the lobby. Things unfortunately do not get better in the room. The rooms are small, which is ok, but the bed is made from some sort of MDF - cardboard hybrid with a mattress on top. At least the bedsheets were clean. The bathroom is definitely the piece-de-resistance. The WC was dirty and stained. Dust on every pipe. The sink takes its time draining, and the clicker waste is not functional, also full of limescale. The extractor is broken on the inside. There was also no soap in our bathroom - others in our group were, however, blessed with some soap. The hairdryer in one of the rooms was also broken. There is also no air conditioning or fan. As we visited in August we slept with the windows open, which honestly barely made a difference. The curtain does not fully cover the windows either. Additionally, there was some sort of unit outside our rooms which made a buzzing noise all night long. If you are nosey, you may get some good entertainment. The walls are incredibly thin and you will be able to hear the guests in surrounding rooms, including when they flush the toilet. We spent most of this first night, until about midnight, trying to find a different hotel so we could leave this place, but we were unsuccessful as it was a weekend in August. We were told by other hotels that we were not even the first ones that day to try to get a room somewhere else. At night, there is no reception staff. There is a call button, but we saw someone use it and wait a good while before anyone answered (if they did - we did not hang around). The whole area also feels unsafe - there are homeless people sleeping directly outside the hotel leaning against it, and drunk/dodgy people all around. Make of this what you will, as this is not strictly the hotel’s fault. Once we managed to get some sleep, it was time for breakfast. We arrived at breakfast between 8:30 and 8:45. The options were essentially: croissant, pain-au-chocolat or bread. There were some scrambled eggs and I think there was supposed to be bacon, but we must have just missed it (breakfast began at 7:30). The juice also soon ran out, as did cups and cutlery. The staff was only there occasionally, so there was no-one to even ask for these thi
