A family-owned hotel since the early 1900s, it's been upgraded incrementally over the decades. While some of the fixtures and fittings may be a little old-fashioned, it has a charm absent from the typical chain hotels. It's obviously lovingly managed and the service from the family and staff is attentive and very friendly. Rooms are spacious and clean. The only criticism I would have is that there is a bath with a shower nozzle and no screen rather than a proper shower. But that's a minor inconvenience. All in all it was like a step back in time with beautiful decor including stained glass windows and a curated feel to it. The very good breakfast was traditional French breads and pastries. Highly recommended.
The rooms in this particular branch of Ibis had the best rooms that I had experienced in the Ibis chain. Extremely spacious, clean, and very comfortable bed. The breakfast was perfectly adequate, consisting of croissants, pan au chocolat, breads, jams, good range of cereals, fruit etc. There is a swimming pool which we used, but unfortunately it was covered by debris from the surrounding trees, which was rather dissapointing. Plenty of safe parking adjacent to the hotel. The young lady on the reception who originated from Cordoba in Argentina was extremely helpful and pleasant. Many thanks to her!
Our arrival at the Brit Hotel was completely last minute since we found the door closed to the hotel in which we originally booked. We made our reservation around midnight for the same night and we fell on a very friendly person who told us that a room was available. The hotel is very clean and modern, and the breakfast is very varied (salt, sugar, hot and cold drinks...). All staff (persons who take care of breakfast, morning and night receptionist) are very pleasant and interested in helping and informing. The hotel is located in front of the station (so not in the old town), so it is rather a convenient hotel to stay.

A fuir!
We wanted to break a longer journey at Cahors. First of all, the plus points. The room was clean, as was the bathroom. The WiFi is fast and the air conditioning efficient. The room itself (14) was in the annexe and has no window although the door is glass. We had the breakfast and there was a good if basic selection. We stayed on a Monday night so the restaurant wasn’t open. Less good; no water, coffee, anything in the room and the bathroom is really tired and not only is old fashioned but was falling apart in places. I’d describe it as adequate for one night but I wouldn’t have wanted to stay longer.
