Find the Cheap Orotava Valley Hotels

I am going to be completely honest as some reviews are dramatic. Rooms- there are a few blocks which some are old and new. We were in the old block on arrival with no air con and just a ceiling fan and not going to lie it wasn’t good. So straightaway we upgraded to the new block the next day but did cost us €150 for the suite room which was lovely no complaints. Check what u book before you get there as I was automatically allocated a room when u book. You can hire a air con machine for €80 Pool area - Lovely area but if you want a sunbed then forget it. People where putting them on the loungers midnight so if your planning an early wake up call for them you need to get up at midnight. It’s ridiculous we sat on the grass for the full week and by about 2pm people were leaving their loungers so we had them anyway. But area is lovely. In all fairness life guard will remove towels if your not there and someone is looking for one which i thought was great. Shop- was not overly expensive in the hotel. The snack bar was reasonably price, toasty and chips €4. Entertainment- not for me same 3 people I think all week and nothing for kids entertainment or kids clubs. Men vocalists is all we saw when we left hotel. Restaurants- some lovely restaurants outside the Italian Napolia I think it was called stunning pizza and the price unbelievable 3 huge pizza and 6 drinks €33 not a lie. Aqua viva does lovely food and the Mexican was lush, Over all for a week holiday self catering we really enjoyed it and I think was reasonably priced for families.

The restaurant staff is extremely disrespectful and disgraceful to hotel guests! They embarrass you in front of other guests. I tried my best to manage well with my two little kids (8 and 6) and a 75 years old mother, but they did everything to make our holiday a very experience at the hotel! Their way of speaking and behaving (showing fingers while speaking to you all the time) is completely wrong. They have absolutely no understanding for the situation. The made a hell for us. We will NEVER go back and I will not recommend this hotel to anyone. Even my little kids noticed clearly that restaurant staff were extremely unfriendly. We have been to Spain in different parts and never, NEVER, seen behaviour like this. Shame!!! One example: My little daughter (6 years old) needed to go to the wc in the middle of our dining. I, of course, had no choice but to take her to the wc. When we came back, the restaurant staff had already taken away our food and all the plates, water and wine from our table. We thought ok, maybe they guessed that we were gone for the evening. So we took food again from the buffet and sat on a new table. They came to us and told us harshly to leave, and told us we were not allowed to eat again because we were only allowed to enter the buffet restaurant once! For heavens sake what is this kind of treatment. They embarrass you in front of other guests. DO NOT GO TO THIS HOTEL!!! The view from our room on the 7th floor was amazing, though. Room: 2/5 View: 5/5 Pool: 2/5 Pool bar:1/5 (dead) Food: 2/5 Friendliness: 0/5 Recommend?: No!

Overall nice hotel, friendly staff and spectacular views. We stayed all inclusive which is a little confusing at first. You have the choice of only 1 restaurant for breakfast and evening free of charge, there is a alacarte Italian restaurant available with 20% discount to all inclusive guests in the evenings. Lunch you can dine at restaurant or pool bar which has snacks including, pizza, burgers, chicken nuggets, chips, toasties, salads (all included with all inclusive). Evening food did change each night with chocolate fountain on 1 night of stay. Some cocktails included with all inclusive but not all, same goes with spirits and liqueurs only local spirits included. All soft drinks ie, Coke, Fanta, Sprite, fruit juice (not fresh) included with all inclusive. There is ice cream pots available from pool bar included but branded ice creams you still need to pay. Location wise, spectacular views just slightly remote for those wanting lively atmosphere. Shuttle bus very reliable and free to take you into town. There is a nice shopping centre over the road but will cost around €10 to get to due to road layout. It’s the same to get back from centre of town in taxi also. Lots of bars and restaurants in Puerto de la Cruz. Towels are available to hire with a refundable deposit for the pool if tokens returned at end of stay. Gardens around pool area are immaculate however the Pool doesn’t allow inflatables which didn’t please my kids, you can however take an inflatable ball. It was easy to get a sun bed no need to reserve beds and we were a group of 9 and we all got a bed easily. Room layout we had a sea view suite which had a lounge which they converted sofa to a single and placed another single in for 2nd child, seperate bedroom with very large bed, large bathroom with whirlpool bath. Aircon only worked in bedroom, lounge was broken, same was the case for other rooms booked which wasn’t great. Our room was 320 and view was amazing. Will say the pool had very sharp surroundings believe it’s to stop slipping over but not the most comfortable to sit on the edge of the pool. They have a larger adults only pool for over 14 year olds which is the one with the large waterfall.

If you're a wheelchair user, please make sure to let the hotel know with plenty of notice. I use a wheelchair that doesn't fold and I couldn't get into my room without taking the wheels off as there's a wardrobe immediately as you enter the room. Fortunately, I am able to walk and only use my chair for longer distances.l, but for others, this could be a real issue. We stayed in that room for one night and they were happy enough to swap me into a different room in the morning. That first night was awful. There were concerning dips in the floor and the noise from being next to the ocean was so loud, plus the wind rattles the windows, it sounded like I was lost at sea. The receptionist was lovely and upgraded us to a family room, no issues, though I hope for the sake of others that there are double rooms available that are more accessible, not just family rooms. The family room was luckily on the other side, so it was totally silent. The breakfasts were quite stale and the milk for the cereal was warm so stuck with the crepes every morning. We did have dinner here one evening but unfortunately, when I got to the dessert stand, there was a cockroach crawling on the food. They were very apologetic and gave both of us a glass of wine as an apology, but then still had to pay full price on the meals. Fortunately, we did bring an extension cord as there weren't many sockets and not all of them even worked. There were no ceiling lights, just plug in lamps, which made it quite dim at night. The pool is barely heated but it takes a few seconds for your body to acclimatise. The mattress is quite firm and I found the pillows were far too high. Also beware that the hotel is on a VERY steep hill. Luckily, I can actually walk quite well in hot weather but I was definitely out of breath when I got from the bottom of the hill to the hotel. The WiFi is awful and I ended up just using my data. The zoo is well worth visiting though and it's a very short distance away. As you come into the hotel, it's got a huge lovely lobby which was lovely to sit in, so it really surprised me how poor everything else was. I have no ill intentions and the staff were lovely but I have to be honest.

Just been back again for the third year, and we’ll definitely be back next year. We love this hotel. Amazing value for money, great pool area and pool bar, we love the hot tubs. We’re always sad to say goodbye to the friendly lizards. The rooms are great, air conditioned, good soundproofing and black out blinds. All of the staff are great. We never want to go home on our last day.

Great 3 star hotel Perfect for a mini break Yes - it is hilly but no more than 15 minute walk into centre of Puerto de la Cruz Plus there is always the hotel shuttle bus if talking isn’t for you Buffet style breakfast and dinner Reasonably priced drinks Staff are lovely Superior studio was huge Room 511. Set in gorgeous well maintained gardens.
