Super friendly hotel staff. Hotel rooms are being modernised but ours hadn’t been yet but we had a beautiful view of the marina. Beds were comfy, room was clean but furniture tired and dated. Breakfast was great, always plenty of fruit, cereal, cooked breakfast items with additional eggs/ pancakes cooked to order. Evening menu varied and good quality. Great location being close to the marina and harbour although there are lots of steps down to it. However, a few minutes walk there is a lift directly down to the marina. 20 minute walk along the marina and harbour with lots of bars and restaurants along the way. Being October when we visited quite a few were closing for end of season. By the harbour, where the cruise ships moor up, there is another lift taking you up to the town centre with lots more shops, bars, restaurants and market. Overall a beautiful place that is very clean, friendly and felt safe. Highly recommended.
Stayed for a night before flying home to (a) enjoy Mahon and (b) be near the airport. The apartment was perfect for both- in the East of the city but excellent location for walking in to the centre, and a big Eroski supermarket the other way. The building itself has a '70s vibe - it's not cutting edge cool but clean and rather endearing for that 'retro' feel. No lift, good Aircon and good wifi. TV had bbc 1,2,4, parliament channel (a first for me) ITV1, C4,5 and CBBC . The rear is also spacious, quiet and residential in a good way. For the price in Mahon it was an absolute bargain
The hotel is in a predominately urban part of the city but still a relatively short walk to the port via the main shopping streets . With its friendly efficient staff we had a large room with a spacious bathroom and a small balcony overlooking the front of the hotel. We had breakfast included and that was fine. The Green Room with its complimentary wine and beer alongside hot and cold drinks combined with a variety of snacks and tapas was a real bonus. Amazingly in this day and age it’s generosity never seemed to be abused by the hotel clientele . The hotels weak point is the pool area. The lovely photo on the web site bares little resemblance at this time of year with the glass enclosures requiring serious cleaning and totally obscuring views of the city . Equally the hot tub at best could be described as tepid. Overall a good hotel that I would be happy to stay at again

This hotel was booked for us by our travel agent. It’s only 11 minutes from the airport and located near the center of Mahon and the port. There aren’t any beaches in this immediate location so you’ll either need a car, taxi, or excursion to get to beaches if that’s what you’re looking for. If it’s the only thing you’re looking for, stay in another town where beaches are in walking distance. I’d hate for the area to get a bad review because assumptions were made. It’s got it’s own charm and it should be appreciated. Check-in was easy. Don’t fret when you see the sign to enter the reception area. It says hostal, but the reception area is for both the hostal of the building you walk into and the separate hotel rooms you’ll stay in in another building. Our room was on the first floor. It was a good size, clean, with simple decorations. The bed was comfortable, the water pressure strong, and the hot water was HOT. You shouldn’t have an issue relaxing here and getting a good night’s rest. The breakfast was very good and we loved the B&B feel. You had someone serving you breakfast, coffee, etc. It added a nice personal touch. The room was made daily and they did a phenomenal job. There was no safe in the room, but the area is extremely safe and there are cameras in the lobby area. The area is picturesque. Part of its charm is getting lost in the narrow streets and I advise you do. Menorca sticks to its Spanish roots and traditions so expect it to be very quiet after lunch. Some stores and restaurants even close until dinner time which is pretty late (8:00pm). This was the case when we arrived, but it did give us plenty opportunity for pictures without battling tourists for a “good spot”, lol. There isn’t a “nightlife” here in the traditional sense. Your best bet would be near the boardwalk. You’ll want to stay in another town for that which we were told is the “party area”, but after being in Menorca for a few days we learned the island itself is much slower paced and traditional. We appreciated that since we came from Barcelona where it’s much more crowded and busy. Lastly, parking would’ve been tough and we didn’t rent a car. Having a car would’ve probably made things a little easier and cheaper. We had to go to Fornells which is 25 minutes away for our excursion departures. At the time of writing, it was about 35 euros for a trip there and another 30-35 for the trip back. You can make the decision on if you’d benefit from a car, but for us being here a few days it didn’t make the most sense. All in all, I’d highly recommend this hotel and ended up enjoying the location, slow pace, and relaxing vibes.

We booked 2 nights at the beginning of our tour of Menorca and 2 nights at the end at this hotel! On arrival we were greeted by Marina who was lovely, she was very informative and attentive! She told us we had been designated room 6 for both our stays! The reception area was very decorative and charming with the original old wall! Marina showed us the rooftop, it all looked like it needed work doing too it, not well maintained or clean looking! On entering our room 6, it was modern but not done to a high standard it was a bit tacky! It was very scruffy, and the shower was disgusting! The bed was comfortable and the bed linen was pristine! So we decided to stay! As we were returning we didn’t approach the reception with our issues, just in case we couldn’t get another hotel when we were due to return! That was our mistake, we should have stated it was not what we expected from a 4 Star Hotel! Breakfast was just ok, no toast just rolls! Very limited selection, to a handful of berries and a small plate of cheese and ham & small plate of fresh fruit! The smallest selection I have ever seen! Coffee was very good, extra hot milk, no problem! No replenishing of items so be early! Once we had left the Hotel and moved to our next destination, we knew we could not return to the Sindic for our last two nights, the difference in the 4 star hotel we were at could not be compared to the Sindic! So I emailed the Sindic, stating why we could not return on our last 2 nights, with photos asking for a full refund! I received an email stating that I should have said I wasn’t happy, at the time! I fully agree with that, but due to the dirty shower I felt this unreasonable! They chose not too make a comment on the photos and said they would refund 1 night!! So they accepted there was issues but still were too tight to give us a full refund! There are so many lovely hotels in Mahon that we stayed at, I would advise you to give this one a miss!
Great hotel, great location, good service. The hotel is perfectly situated for a short walk to the heart of Mahón (10 min), with a beautiful view of the water. My first floor room had a cute balcony overlooking the water. The hotel was clean and modern with a decent sized room and all the amenities you would need, including a bar, restaurant, spa, pool and fitness room. The front desk staff was very nice and helpful. The breakfast buffet was the only thing I felt was below value. For 27 Euro, while there was a large enough food selection, it was disorganized and not a great experience. They kept running out of food items, plates, utensils, etc. I rather preferred walking to a local bakery for a croissant and coffee. Great overall stay though!
Was there 3 nights in May. Had compact but well -designed single room. Great location, new & bright, excellent staff, and wonderful breakfast at 8.5 euros. Google Maps route (Esplanda that becomes Ses Moreres - RT Bastió that becomes Deià that becomes s'Arravaleta - RT Placa del Princep) is a relatively easy walk from the bus terminal with hourly civic buses from the airport. (Excellent airport facilities at Mahón. The public island bus service - pay by cash - is great for all of Menorca!) Unfortunately, no coffee maker in Jume rooms. You can pay a euro for a teabag or instant coffee in the lobby (free cookie!) or take your own tea/coffee, use the lobby kettle & return to your room by the elevator. I used the hotel website to book. I definitely recommend Jume-Urban Rooms.
