Located in the heart of the city of Bandar Sribugawan, it is convenient for dining and shopping. It seems to be a long-established hotel, but the room seems to have been renovated relatively recently, and it was modern and clean. I didn't mind because I stayed at work so long in the room, but the outside of the window was just across the building, so the inside of the room was a little dark. (This may depend on the direction of the room). The only complaint was that the temperature of the shower did not rise much.

it has been almost 2 years MCO and now I have an opportunity to visit my Husband in Brunei. Thinking about self-isolation going to be the worst time of my life which I will be alone for at least 7-14 days in the hotel room. So I was prepared for some activities including office work...oh dear lucky that I can work from everywhere. The room is very spacious and clean. I can choose my sitting for work, reading a book or having a meal. The cozy atmosphere at the living area is so relaxing. I can see the views of the city from the window. Talking about the meal is superb! I have no complaint at all except my weight haha... Moreover the hospitality provided by the staffs were great! I really MISS the moments. I highly recommended this Hotel is the best place to stay whenever you visit Brunei. -siti-

The rooms are big and clean but everything else is terrible. It started when I booked the hotel for a business trip. There are not a lot of hotels in KB, so the choice is limited. The hotel confirmed my booking then a week later cancelled saying they did not have the capacity. It took the company I was consulting for to call and secure a room for me. To reach the offices of our client, we need to utilize hotel transport. We booked each day in advance but the hotel managed to screw up the booking each time making us late three days in a row. When I misplaced the plastic key to my room, they charged me $11 to replace it (the only hotel in the world to do that and I have been to hundreds of them). On the way out of your room, the door does not close and lock automatically. You have to run your key to retract the bolt lock and pull it shut (when you are leaving). The bathroom has a 4 inch step down into it meaning you are in danger of stubbing or even breaking a toe if you get up at night to go to the toilet. The food is severely limited, poor quality, and only good for a carb load. Finally, the wifi is only good for about 10minute at a time then cuts out for 5-10 minutes. This is the worst hotel I have visited in a long, long time ,and I have been in some pretty bad hotels.

we checked in during mid of Feb-21. it seems nice hotel to stay when we look through the website. we've never got a chance to stay here since it's always fully booked. luckily, we managed to get an apartment and a family suite for our stay. it was our first time to stay there, we were surprised that the hotel services were not up to standard. such a disappointment when you see there is no proper service provided by the front desk and the concierge was not very helpful. the front desk didn't finish her checked in process with guests infront of her and she kept asking if her colleague can manage the other check-ins. ??? not to mention that they have no proper guidance to our stay. to cut short, when we checked-in to the apartment, it was a bit smelly. there are no kitchen utensils for cooking, there is no bath robe, no bath tub as mentioned in the website. moreover, the door toilet in the main room couldn't be close properly. it was stuck! not to mention, the wifi was very poor and we can't even use the ”wireless cord telephone motorolla” that was provided in the room. we have to call the front-desk using our own phone and dialed the hotel number. what's the use of the phone if they can't be use, right?? we requested to move to another room, but they said it was fully booked. what surprised me, the room next door is available. we did not have a choice but to stay. luckily when we visited the other room, it has such a nice view facing the roundabout. but again, what disappoints us was that there is no wifi in that room. i would suggest for the hotel management to improve on certain areas in this hotel. please look through this.

The two rooms are actually three rooms, the middle one is an open kitchen and living room. The location is not good, except for the supporting commercial area downstairs, you must have a car when you go out. The staff is very nice, the only hotel where there is nothing wrong with the front desk to the room service. There is a free airport shuttle. Later, I heard that I needed to buy medicine, and I specially arranged for someone to drive us out without any cost. There are service points of large car rental companies, and travel services can also be booked with hotels. The commercial facilities are quite complete, and there will be locals eating a work meal at noon.

The Radisson Hotel Brunei is the only international chain hotel. Located within walking distance to lots of places of interest, such as the Regalia Museum, the Brunei History Museum, the Yayasan shopping center, the Kampong Ayer, and most importantly night market with great food just across the street. The hotel provides FREE shuttle service to various shopping centers 3 times a day. The most recommended is Gadong where you have the largest shopping mall in Brunei as well as the well-known Gadong night market where you can find and try all kinds of Bruneian foods, the best! The hotel has a 24-hour fitness center with up-to-date equipment, toilet, showers, and connected to the swimming pool. No attendants available. The breakfast has tasty food, albeit not enough variety and not enough vegetables. Service is friendly and helpful. At the lobby there is a souvenier shop. And a water dispenser so that you can keep refilling your water bottle. Last but most importantly, even though the bed is queen sized, but really comfortable and gives us well-rested sleep. Our room was facing the small forest at the back, so no noise from the street. Housekeeping does a great job at cleaning the room.

The free transport option offered on arrival at the airport was a very appealing aspect at this hotel and it was seamless when arriving late at night. The city’s roads were deserted so the journey didn’t take long and the welcome from the reception was superb, feeling so friendly and more like arriving into someone’s home than a hotel. It may feel a little tucked away and at times more of a business office location, but it was the ideal spot for a short break in the city and all the main sights are easily walkable. There’s two buildings for the accommodation and mine was on the second floor in the alternative building. There is a decent lift as well as stairs available to use and the room itself was a good enough size. It was a little basic and functional, but with the prices charged I can’t complain. Be sure to close the blind in the shower at night else the glass door allows the morning sun throughout the whole room, but the air-conditioning worked well, there’s plugs by the side of the bed and a decent enough desk for doing any work. The TV was small and there isn’t a huge amount of storage but everywhere at least seemed very clean. Noise from outside was minimal, given the hotel is tucked away in it’s own carpark, although it was possible to hear water running throughout the building from other rooms throughout the night. Breakfast continued the friendly ‘home run’ affair and was quite nice. There’s a decent number of hot dishes on the buffet and the live omelette station is a good touch. Again all the staff are super welcoming and can’t do enough to help. There’s a mix of tables with many suitable for large groups as well. I can’t comment on their evening offering since it was closed for a private function. If you’re looking for the height of luxury and modernness you’ll be disappointed, but for a clean comfortable room, in a great location with welcoming atmosphere, certainly consider it - I will be again and it’s brilliant value.

The person from Higher Hotel assigned to meet me at the airport didn't show up so I had to ask a (p/u-s/o) working at the airport to make call (my phone was unusable) to the hotel. The pick up was for 01:00 but was delay until 02:00 Other than this episode the rest of the stay was quite positive. Higher Hotel is a good location for people who have a limited time to visit Brunei's capital, Bandar Seri Begawan. Higher Hotel has a group of professional personnel ( beside the airport p/u person), friendly, helpful and courteous. The lobby is bright and airy with adequate sofas for guest waiting for cabs or transportation. The room and the bathroom, in my opinion, is better than most three stars hotel. There is a fair sized shopping mall across the street (to the right) from the hotel. Jame's Hassanil Bolkiah Mosques is only a 15 mins easy pace walk. The hotel can arrange a sightseeing trip for the four must see (my take if you have only one free day to take in the city): Istana Nurul Iman, Omar Ali Saifuddien Mosque, Kampong Ayer - Venice of East, and Jame's Hassanil Bolkiah Mosque. Jame's Hassanil Bolkiah Mosqueis only 15 mins walk from the Higher Hotel. Walk out from the hotel's front door, turn right and walk on that direction of the highway. To check your bearing, you may want to walk down to the roadside bus stop (just outside the hotel) and look to the right where you will see a pedestrian crossover above the highway. You can walk through the shopping mall (across the from the hotel) to get to the crossover. Go over the crossover and walk alongside the highway (nice walking path with green grass between the highway). Make a left turn when arrive at a four way signal lights. Turn left and look up. The golden domes of the mosque is 5 minutes away.

What travellers say about Bandar Seri Begawan attractions

Discover these places worth visiting in Bandar Seri Begawan and select a hotel nearby for ultimate convenience
The National Square
穿穿白衬衣的薄荷星Brunei's little-known facts, a complete travel guide Brunei is a niche country. I believe many people know about Brunei through Wu Zun. This place is located in the green heart of Borneo, in the north of Kalimantan Island. It is worth visiting. The following are some travel guides, shared with everyone, and recommended to collect. [Visa] China implements visa on arrival, 20 SGD or Brunei currency, buy round-trip tickets and book a hotel, there are very few people entering the country, basically no need to queue, you can fly directly. [Network] You can buy a local card or buy Yidian connection. I use Yidian connection. You can use it by inserting the card. You can recharge the data in any country. It is very convenient. [Accommodation] There are not many good hotels in Brunei. The best one is the Empire Hotel, which is on the beach and costs at least 1800 per night. I stayed at the Radisson Hotel. The hotel is relatively old and located in the city center. It is convenient to go anywhere. [Currency] The Brunei currency and the SGD are common, and the exchange rate is the same. Some stores accept Alipay, and most of them accept Visa cards. [Transportation] The average Bruneian family owns 3 cars, so Brunei's public transportation is basically zero. There are only 8 bus routes, 72 buses, and 83 taxis in the country. The bus runs once an hour, and sometimes it will be cancelled if there is no one. So it is more convenient to rent a car when you land, and you can get a translated driver's license. Or you can use dart to take a taxi, and you can basically get one even if you wait for a long time. [Recommended check-in places] 1️⃣ Sultan Memorial Hall: The world's largest private accommodation, built to coincide with the 25th anniversary of the Sultan's accession to the throne, collects Brunei's historical relics and items of the king and queen. The ticket is 5 dong, you need to wear slippers to visit, you can't use a camera to take pictures, you can only use a mobile phone. 2️⃣Ayer Water Village: A water village in Brunei with a long history. You need to take a boat tour. The cost is about 10 monies per person. You can bargain. The sunset is beautiful. 3️⃣Padang Night Market: The only night market in Bandar Seri Begawan. It mainly sells some local barbecues. Most of them are locals. The barbecue smell is particularly strong. You can try the local specialty - roasted chicken buttocks. 4️⃣Jamie Mosque: The largest and most luxurious mosque in Brunei. The 29 gold domes are very impressive. It is called the King's Mosque. 5️⃣Omar Mosque: A water mosque with a white exterior and a golden dome. It is particularly photogenic at dusk. 6️⃣Bake Culture: Wu Zun Bakery. I came here for Wu Zun. In fact, the bread is average. There is a coffee on the second floor. 7️⃣Imperial Hotel: You can check in. It is right by the sea. The hotel is very large. There are many photogenic check-in spots. The sunset is also good. Sharing some little-known facts about Brunei: ✅Brunei is very small, sandwiched between Sarawak and Sabah in Malaysia, with a small land area and the capital city of Bandar Seri Begawan ✅Because of Brunei’s religion, there is no sale of tobacco and alcohol in the country, no bars, KTVs, and no nightclubs ✅Brunei’s water is more expensive than oil, and its specialty is oil. One liter of oil is about 2 yuan, and a bottle of mineral water is 5 yuan at the cheapest ✅Brunei’s public transportation is underdeveloped, and each family has an average of three cars, so taxis are very expensive.
Omar Ali Saifuddien Mosque
NNickolas Cone of the best looking mosques you can find in Southeast Asia. It has an amazing gold dome.
Kampong Ayer
KKedzuzatravel3339A must-see place in Bandar Seri Begawan.Traditional Malays water village.
Istana Nurul Iman
Cchinadesk1The palace is not open to the public on weekdays. When I went there, I just looked outside. The national emblem of Brunei on the big iron gate at the entrance is beautiful. There is a wide lawn inside, flowers are blooming, and the palace is magnificent. The guards are strictly guarding. There is no public transportation around, so you need to consider transportation in advance.
Royal Regalia Museum
Yyangduoduo17It is a great place to go when the sun is out or it suddenly rains hard outside, but the air conditioning is very strong, so you need to keep warm! It is best to go in with a guide to fully understand the history of Brunei. I usually don't like visiting museums because I always find it boring to stay in such places. Since there is not much to do in Bandar Seri Begawan, I had to visit this museum and was pleasantly surprised. It was so interesting! It was very beautiful inside! The staff was helpful and spoke fluent English, so the communication was very smooth. We walked around the whole museum and saw all the gifts presented to the King of Brunei by other countries and were deeply fascinated by them. Each gift was unique and fully reflected the style of their respective countries. The best thing about this museum is that at the end of the tour, you can see a small gift shop with a variety of souvenirs that are cheap and worth buying. We were very happy to visit this museum. Highly recommended!
Sumbangsih Mulia Complex
AAmoy HROnly open during the day. Cheap place to experience local foods, the local cakes, puff pastry, rice dishes with wide variety of side dishes.
Yayasan Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah Complex
AAlexfishYayasan SHHB Complex, The square is located next to the Omar Ali Saifuddin Mosque. It is a large square where you can eat, drink and play together. It is similar to the domestic Wanda (of course, I think there is still a lot of distance from Wanda). The most interesting thing is not what is sold inside. But the architectural style here. The two main buildings are on both sides of the square, the blue sky and white clouds, and the water family on the south of the Golden Ding Mosque in the north. Even if the sun is hot, there will be a few blockbusters! ! !
Pantai Berakas
千山任我行This beach is located in the Tudong District of Bandar Seri Begawan, the capital of Brunei. Brunei has rich natural gas and oil resources and beautiful beaches, but public transportation is not very convenient so there are not many people.
