Excellent location to explore the area around Wilsons Promontory and wider Gippsland. The Lodge (to be honest it's an upscale motel) has an onsite restaurant which serves reasonably tasty and filling, but not exciting food. Which is a good option, if like us, you've spent the day exploring the area. The room was spacious, the linen clean and fresh. The bathroom although spacious had an open shower which saw water go everywhere. Bed was comfortable. Although it is on the highway it is set back from the road and the rooms are quiet. I will note, my partner asked about seeing wildlife in the immediate area and the staff, although slightly surprised, were more than willing to assist for what was a slightly left of centre request. So full marks for them!
We went to Wilson promontory national park, so the location of this Motel is very good, about half an hour's drive from the park; we are a three person staying in the room, one big bed and one single bed. The rooms and bathrooms are very clean; parking is free and each room has a parking space, just outside the room door;
We had travelled from the Rochdale near Manchester in the UK to meet and spend time with our daughter and partner and grandkids who live in Melbourne and also brother who lives in Perth. This is not our first time to Australia and not the first time we have been on road trips site seeing. As a family there was four adults and two children, one aged 3 and one aged 6. We had decided to travel from Ormond in Melbourne and visit Wilson s Promontory but did not want to stay to near the promontory. So we decided that Toora would be a good destination and though many places were booked up we were lucky to get two rooms, ours being a double with single bed and my daughters having a double and two bunk beds plus one single, these were at the Tooralodge Motel. 4930 South Gippsland Toora, and we did not regret it one moment. Situated just near the town of Foster yet only a few miles away from Agnes falls (well worth a visit) Toora is in a rural green countryside, with large gardens its set back off the road so easy to miss if going fast but with plenty of space around it has a truly relaxed feel. If you want a brand new state of the art Motel with all gadgets included then this is not for you, and, that is a good thing as here the motel was well established not new but nicely laid out, spotlessly clean and the rooms had all what you would expect from any motel of good standing. The reception was manned by the nicest person I have ever met in a motel or hotel ever, nothing, and I mean nothing was to much trouble, with sensible and useful advice on the surrounding area, a wealth of knowledge and judging from previous reviews on the motel he is a man of consistency, to my shame I have forgotten his name, but please be assured like gusts before I know he will be able to offer you a warm welcome. Prices. We stayed at the beginning of march for two days (two nights) a Friday and Saturday and it cost 600 dollars for all of us, we had expected at least 900 to 1200 elsewhere so this was exactly what we wanted yet with a high standard of service. We intend to take the family back to the Toora Lodge motel when we come back at Christmas, though our daughter says she will be going before. Recommendation indeed. Bob and Ann Morrisey. Manchester. An incredibly lovely property with clean and well equipped cottages. The cows who came up to the fence outside out cottage in the morning was an added bonus. We loved having happy hour on our outside patio. Cozy bedding and wood framed ceiling made for a warm, delightful stay.

I stayed here over the weekend. We booked a cabin for 4 adults so assumed we could have both cars next to the cabin since there is plenty of space and the cabin next to us had 2 cars. When we arrived the key card would only let one car in, the office was closed so we were trying to find a way to get both cars in to unpack them. I was standing in front of the office on my own. Im assuming it was the owner of the park who came out and started screaming / abusing me for trying to get both cars in. I explained to him I didn’t know it was one car only to which he literally screamed ‘oh you didn’t know, well you know now.’ I am in no way a confrontational person and it left me in tears. He had the option to calmly explain why our key card wasn’t working. Or better yet he could have come outside earlier to talk to us as he said he was simply sitting inside his office watching us.. We have stayed at this park multiple times. Last time we camped and when we arrived our card to get in didn’t work, we had to call someone multiple times to be able to get in as the office was closed. When we went into the park our spot had been taken by other campers, the park was full but luckily we were able to squeeze in near some other campers. Unfortunately these campers had loud music playing all night. When we woke up in the morning the toilet blocks were completely closed for some unknown reason. We normally recommend this place to everyone due to its spot on the beach, and the staff we have spoken to in the past have been lovely. But after this experience we will not be back. There are plenty of other parks in Wilson’s prom / yanakie on or close to the beach.
