Really friendly staff, nice size accomadation, nice family feel and friendly enviroment. Close to the beach, just a 5 minute walk, there is a steep hill to climb on the way back from the beach which could pose a problem for some people. Nice pool area with sunbeams and seating. Its not close to any shops or a small store for supplies, so you will need a car. Everything in the accomadation worked well except for the oven which would not come on, I went shopping with the intention of using the oven to do some cooking, but ended up having to give the shopping away to a friend on the island after I realised the oven did not work. Stove worked fine, nice size fridge and nice microwave that was in good working condition. The only other issue was the roof in my room leaked when it rained heavy (this happened on 3 occasions) the first occasion it leaked all over my luggage, I was out at the time and came back that night to find my luggage soaked, I was so lucky that my electrical goods like my laptop was not locked in that case (also to safe is too small to accommodate a laptop and you have to pay to use the room safe). I did report the leak to the security worker that night, as there was also a power cut that night and the wifi went off and did not come on until midday the following day, however the security guy said he would report it for me, but clearly he didn't report it as no one followed up with me. On the other 2 occasions I moved everything from where the leak was and placed the bathroom mat under the leak. I would recommend staying here but there needs to be a few minor repairs to make it perfect. Only cost $10US an hour for late check out if you have a flight after the checkout time of 12 noon which is useful.
I stayed at royalton chic cancun last year and loved it. That's why I decided to come here and I must say that both resorts are different, but the service was very good in antigua too. Entertainment was good enough to keep us busy durimg the day. Chic Angels were beautiful and sexy. The band was great performing every night. DJ berroa was kind in the sports bar. Sublime bar was the best one. I stayed in it everyday after 7pm. Room was clean everyday and minibar restocked. I went out for dinner at sheer rocks and loved it. View and food was amazing. I will be back.
On the booking it asks for “special request”, (we asked for 1 hour early check in if possible because of our plane arrival time) and when we arrived she said it wasn’t possible. No problem! We know sometimes it isn’t possible. Went to the bar without complaint for an hour until the 3pm time she gave us to retrieve the key. When we got there we saw the original receptionist was on phone so I spoke to the colleague next to her (A family was sitting in lobby but no one at the reception desk). I said hello and told the colleague we had checked in but were back as instructed to get the room key, please. I was polite (In customer service 25 yrs). She said “ok I’ll need to ask her” and turned to the woman on phone (not sure if she interrupted her) and suddenly the woman on phone stood up and yelled at me “ma’am I’m going to need you to go ahead and take a seat!”. Like I was some unruly passenger on an airplane?? My husband was ready to tell her off and leave, but I chose not to further escalate the situation. I won’t allow anyone to bait me into meeting them on the low road. Once settled, I went back and said how she spoke to me was not ok and I had done nothing deserving of such treatment. She said “I’m sorry you’re offended” (not a real apology). I told her that actually it seemed as though my presence somehow offended her because I hadn’t even spoken to her. She said it was because she was already helping the other people in the lobby. I pointed out that I had no idea that she was helping them as they were not at the counter, and anyhow my inquiry was to her colleague (who wasn’t on the phone or speaking to anyone else), NOT her, so it made no difference. This time she apologized for “upsetting me” and said she did not want to damper our stay. Better, but too late, the unprovoked behavior ruined the stay. Asked or 1 hour late check out because of our flight departure time, which is normal in most 4 star hotels, and they did give it to us. We are from St Martin here visiting Antiguan friends. They brought us here for dinner the night before and we loved the location so decided to book. Safe to say, not how we expected to be treated, not 4 stars, never coming back. Rooms need updating, no washcloths, no water pressure. Woken at 7:30am by staff using a leaf blower outside the building. The beach is lovely, but for us that was it. Stayed on July 6, 24
We had a wonderful stay with Jacquie and her team at the villas at sunset lane. The rooms and bathrooms were large, well equipped with comfy beds and efficient a/c and ceiling fan. Jacquie is an amazing host and an excellent cook. Continental breakfasts were lovely but we did treat ourselves to omelettes for breakfast a couple of times and they were amazing. We also ate dinner at the villas in two occasions and they were very tasty. We certainly didn't go hungry. The villas are very clean and the staff team are friendly and helpful. Pool is lovely and also kept extremely clean. Jacquie is a perfect host who helped with sorting out the puncture we got on our hire car plus made dinner reservations and excursion reservations. The area is quiet but is 10 mins walk from the beach and a short drive into St Johns. Best rum punch on the island!!! I would definitely stay there again.
Really enjoyed staying a couple of nights at Connie's whilst waiting for our delayed flight. The staff are friendly and really helpful- thanks again to Brittany who was able to accommodate our ever changing situation. The room lives up to the name, it's super comfortable, well air conditioned, cleaned to high standards. The amenities provided in the room are good and there are takeaway shops and grocery shops within walking distance. I would highly recommend!
Had a fantastic stay at the Cortsland Hotel. I stayed there for two nights at the beginning and end of my holiday for easy transfers to the airport. The first room I stayed in had a patio with seating. Rooms have ironing board and iron. Kettle with teas, coffee etc. The room was a fantastic size and bed was comfortable. The air conditioning was superb. The second room I stayed in had a kitchen that was accessed through glass sliding doors. Washing up liquid supplied. Extensive range of crockery and utensils. This room was massive. The hotel is immaculate. Pool is large with seating and comfortable loungers. I had this area to myself during my stay. All hotel staff were incredibly friendly and welcoming. On arrival I was too late for dinner. Emily ordered me a pizza and drove me to collect this. I only ate breakfast here. It was a buffet breakfast and had fruit, orange juice, cereals, teas and coffee on offer. The hot choices included scrambled eggs, sausage, bacon and herb potatoes. There is a bar near the hotel offering food and drinks that can be accessed from the back gate of the hotel. The gardens are well maintained and extensive. I also ran out of cigarettes during my final stay. Hazel, the hotel owner, personally drove me to the supermarket to buy these. Shout out to Donny and Kella who made me feel welcome. I stayed here myself and felt incredibly safe. The bar was not open but drinks could be ordered at the reception. I would highly recommend this hotel. Customer service was second to none.
The hotel has an independent beach, a large swimming pool, disinfection and sanitation, hand washing and disinfection at the door, and contactless check-in. Everything is done online. The hotel breakfast is toast, bacon, yogurt, eggs, and coffee. There are no vegetables and the air conditioner is a little loud. The bathroom is exhausted, and there will be mosquitoes, bed pillows are comfortable, the room has alcohol handrub for disinfecting hands, toothbrushes and slippers are not provided, there is water and coffee supply in the lobby, there is no kettle in the room, and you can sleep by listening to the sound of the waves at night. Someone cleaned up,
