Originally chosen for being in walking distance from the centre of Cirencester, as well as good reviews. It was a time of torrential rain in the local area, but the warm welcome we received and the excellent level of hospitality and friendliness experienced throughout our stay made all the difference. An historic building with steep narrow stairs to some of the upper floor rooms, it suffered from some unfortunate water leaks during our stay, but the staff kept smiling and looking after everyone despite the problems. Outstanding level of service. The breakfasts were amazing and the evening meal was top quality. We will certainly re-book if we are in the area again.

Cirencester (a former Roman city) is a gem, and the Corinium hotel is ideally placed to tour the town on foot. Located on a quiet street 5 minutes from the centre, with virtually no passing traffic, even for front-facing rooms. This latest was the third time we've stayed at the hotel. It's all olde-worlde, go someplace else if you want porcelain and glass modernity. The stairs to some rooms are steep, but ask for more accessible rooms if you're 'of an age'. Breakfasts excellent, serving staff anxious to please, helpful receptionists. The owners were about to sell up this year, but I'm glad they changed their mind.

Thank you for a lovely stay. We stayed in the compact room number 10. The bed was perfect slept like a baby. Coffee, tea and biscuits in room. Nice size room for a compact room. Walk in hot shower, room super clean. Staff very tentative and nothing to much trouble at all. Nice bar, lounge and dining area and also beer garden. Breakfast was very good with a good choice. Free parking at the back of the property and only a few minutes walk to the parish church, bars, restaurants and centre of the town. I would definitely recommend this hotel to stay.

Great place. Stairs are very steep. Didn't bother us. Great room. Breakfast was brilliant. Good choice and well cooked. Breakfast staff were fantastic. Nothing too much trouble, prompt and very friendly. Location great. Couple of minute walk in to town. Only little negative is it was a little expensive for what it is. But I guess that's the way of all hotels in England at the moment. Trying to recoup the great shutdown money.

Recently had an overnight stay, impressed from the moment i arrived and until i left next day. Julie and her team were exceptional, especially Julie the properitor, as we was on first name terms by end of stay/made me feel so welcome, it made for a special visit to see my friend/his daughter. I cannot recommend Corinium Hotel enough, location was superb to explore Circencester and local area. Definetly returning again, sooner rather than later. I only dined for breakfast, what a choice..im a small eater, my 16 year old son would be all over this. I was very impressed and i travel alot

Sunday lunch with friends proved to be a real winner. Good choice on the menu and all the food served was top quality and delicious. Extremely friendly staff and a lovely atmosphere. Only a few minutes walk to the town centre. Highly recommended.

Our stay at Corinium Hotel was part of our Go Tours tour of Stratford, Bath, Stonehenge and the Cotswold’s. Originally built as a merchant’s home in 1595, what it lacks in amenities it makes up in charm. Our room was on the third floor and the clerk enthusiastically offered to carry our suitcases, although I insisted on carrying one. The warnings on beams to “mind your head” and “Duck” are to be taken seriously. Two windows extending from the roof provided ventilation but no outside views. Though clean throughout, a sensitive nose in our party detected the aroma of wood smoke in our room. Each of us had our own bed and slept well. Registration and the restaurant are on the first floor. Breakfast was included with our stay and was enjoyable in what I would envision as a typical English Inn. Corinium is conveniently located within easy walking distance of restaurants and sites of Cirencester. I would recommend Corinium to travelers seeking a quaint experience. While we enjoyed our stay, I would look elsewhere if we return to Cirencester.

We stayed here for five nights on our honeymoon and were absolutely delighted with our room, the friendliness of the staff, and the delicious breakfasts. We only ate our evening meal in the hotel on one occasion, but this was also excellent. The location made it easy to take a short walk into the town centre. We loved the fact that the hotel had a long history to it, having been built in the 16th century. Obviously this means that staircases are steeper and narrower than might be found in a modern building, but there are accessible rooms on the ground floor for those who might struggle. We would definitely stay here again if we come back to visit Cirencester.
