The hotel is a bit old, the rooms are average, but the scenery on the island is first-rate, there are many photo spots, the restaurant is not as bad as the reviews say, because I don't like fish, I basically didn't order fish, I ordered all the dishes that go with rice, and they all tasted good. The hotel is on an island, and there are shuttle buses to and from the island. The environment is great. Other hotels in Qiandao Lake that say they have lake view rooms cannot be considered real lake views, but this hotel has real lake view rooms. The environment is first-rate. The hotel also upgraded us to a family room, thank you. If I really have to pick a fault, it is the food, which is indeed not up to that level, but overall it is good.

Location (in terms of proximity to the lake) is great if you want to stay in and enjoy the lake view, hang out by the shore, etc. because this hotel has many nice spots, and you can see the sunset. However, it's far from downtown, you'd have to taxi back and forth, anyway it is very easy to get taxis.
Service was good, the room was spacious and clean. Breakfast buffet was also good, plenty of options.
