This Hampton is in a great location, well-situated between I-81 and Virginia Tech. The property appears to be a popular choice in the area, based on the volume of travelers coming and going - we personally observed a mixture of people on business, families, and even a college tennis team. I appreciated some of the personal touches at the property, like cute spring decorations at the front door and throughout the lobby. Hilton loyalty was well-acknowledged - we were offered cookies and bottles of water at check-in, as well as a choice of snacks for status. Small things like this helped distinguish this location from your typical roadside Hampton, and showed that the employees seem to take a lot of pride in the property. The room appeared to be recently renovated and had everything we needed for an overnight stop. Some quirks in the room, like a bathroom door that wouldn’t lock into place and dead outlets in the dresser, were minor reminders that the property wasn’t quite new. The breakfast variety was a little odd in terms of flavors but sufficient nonetheless. We would keep the property in mind for future trips to the area.
