Woolpack Inn

Set in picture perfect Chilham, the Woolpack is an ideal overnight stop for North Downs Way walkers, as the village is on the actual trail. We stayed in one of the larger rooms in the pub itself and it was an absolute treat. The bedroom and bathroom were beautifully styled and immaculate, with the bathroom's underfloor heating, fluffy towels and lovely shower helping to revive us after a hard day's walking. We enjoyed a really nice meal in the Woolpack's restaurant later on, including one of the best desserts we've ever tasted - cherry bakewell bread and butter pudding - wow! Breakfast was also top notch, with quality bacon and many delicious options to choose from. We were really sad that we were not staying for longer and would definitely recommend both the hotel and restaurant.

On previous to the UK in 2019 i stayed with My wife here at this old coaching Inn. we had such a wonderful time here. So when a group of friends wanted to tour the UK and wanted to stay some close to Canterbury I know that this place would a good spot to stay at. When i booked the new owners told me that they had renovated the Hotel. My sank a little with the worry that they might have change the Character of the rooms etc:- So when we arrived I was on tender hooks, what will my friends say when they go into there rooms. the worry was short lived yes the new owners had renovated but the rooms are even better from my last visited, the bar was different from what i remembered but again really nice. the staff behind the are all lovely polite young ladies and we where really well looked after. My only disappointment, after two visits i still haven't seen the Gray Lady

Had the most amazing stay in this hotel , rooms are amazing and very clean , good location, excellent value for money with breakfast included . The owners were very friendly and made us feel at home and very welcome . The only downside is the website is incorrect with Sunday meal times but they helped us locate a nearby place to eat Highly recommend this hotel

Located in the beautiful village of Chilham, the Woolpack manages to be a traditional, historical and very picturesque pub, whilst also bringing a modern note to its offering. The recent refurb of the rooms, with soft tones and warm lighting gave the feel of a boutique stay. Everything was spotlessly clean, with a super comfortable bed, high quality linens and a very thoughtfully stocked mini bar/fridge (fresh bottled milk, high quality brand snacks, chocolates). The breakfast menu, offered cold and hot items and the tempura style, subtly spiced cauliflower was a delight as were the maple syrup, crispy bacon pancakes! The owners are on hand and work hard to make this a gorgeous overnight stay. Wish I'd stayed longer...

The staff are useless. I've been in here twice and the staff both times have been horrendous, even the "managers". It takes 40 minutes to get a round of coffees or drinks. When I went the other day for a colleagues birthday for drinks, we ordered at the bar and the drinks came out one by one rather than together and they forgot two, I went in to ask where the forgotten drinks were as it took over 30 minutes to get the drinks. The staff spoke to one another, none looking at me in the eye or telling me what was going on and then finally said it's no bar service outside and we have to order at the bar! Honestly I've never been to a place where ALL the staff are utterly useless and disappear when they see you and look at you in disgust like you have disturbed them to get them to do the job they are paid for. AVOIDING THIS FOR THE FORSEEABLE!

We stayed at The Woolpack, two couples, for a night at the end of July, while we were walking the Pilgrims Way. I did the booking, and to be honest, I think their website slightly underplays the place….we thought it was great. We stayed in rooms that have been recently and extensively refurbished. They were very comfortable indeed, much more so than your average pub stay. And the restaurant was excellent; an extensive menu very well cooked, in very nice surroundings. Chilham is also a delightful village and makes for a terrific stopover. So, can thoroughly recommend and well done to the management and very friendly staff.

This hotel is an absolute treasure. It’s in a tiny Tudor village with a castle and a street with about 20 houses. The hotel is deathly renovated with comfortable, beautiful rooms. The food is outstanding; we had breakfast both days as well as a lunch and a dinner. Everything we ate was delicious. We walked through the town several times and spent an evening in the local pub on quiz night (it was a lot of fun).

Fabulous hotel in a lovely village close to several vineyards. The whole building has been recently refurbished to a really high standard. Lovely bar, wonderful food and efficient, friendly staff. The group I was with took four rooms and all were wonderful. Highly recommended.

Fantastic last minute stay and extremely happy with our choice! Rooms are just across from the pub and have their own private outdoor area with tables and chairs and a small private garden. Really cosy rooms and everything done to a high standard. Quality of food for dinner was exceptional and far excelled what we had presumed would be on offer. Large portions, fantastic flavours and a bit of flair in the presentation. Also priced right and great quality for the cost. Service from the staff was really warm and friendly yet also absolutely on point and very efficient Breakfast included as well to an equally high standard.
