The Ritz-Carlton Chengdu

Arrived at the hotel around 10 PM. The room was clean and tidy, which was a pleasant sight. The coffee at breakfast was super cute 😍, no need to go to those Instagrammable cafes. The food selection was rich; there was a local snack called 'San Da Pao,' which was sticky and sweet. Even the small desserts had the hotel's logo, almost like an afternoon tea spread. Our summer trip was long, with several transfers in Chengdu, and we stayed at quite a few hotels. Although The Ritz-Carlton isn't new, its established quality and reputation still stand strong and trustworthy 👍.

Except for the location, which I found a bit inconvenient, everything else at Old Shuncheng Street deserves a resounding five-star review. It's actually quite central, with views of Tianfu Square. However, getting to the South Gate is a bit of a trek. The lobby on the 25th floor offers expansive views, and the service is truly excellent. You're greeted as you exit the elevator, guided to the guest room elevators, and receive phone calls both before check-in and after check-out. The rooms are spacious, well-appointed, the bedding is top-notch, and even the toiletries are good – I particularly liked the toothpaste. Breakfast deserves special praise; it's among the best at any high-end hotel in Chengdu, surpassing even the Waldorf Astoria and W. What makes it stand out: fresh, beautifully presented fruit, with watermelon cut into perfectly uniform pieces – a lovely detail. The Mapo Tofu at breakfast was incredibly authentic and tasted amazing with the mini steamed buns… and so on. Highly recommended! At this price point in Chengdu's old city, it's essentially the pinnacle. Highly, highly recommended!

Vicky thoughtfully reserved the room I stayed in over the New Year. As always, the meticulous attention to detail made me feel like a weary bird returning to its nest. My mother, in her 70s, had many questions during check-in, but Fiona, the redhead, patiently and thoroughly answered them all, making everything as smooth as "Dove" chocolate. I especially feel that the club, under the leadership of Ms. Mencia, has become much warmer and more personable than before, which made my elderly parents feel very relaxed. My mother particularly loved the delicious, freshly prepared oxtail and Zhang Fei burger made by the chef team – bravo, nicely done!

The hotel's location is excellent; it's very quick to get to Chunxi Road, the Science and Technology Museum, and the museum. My child also really enjoyed the stay. Many thanks to the executive lounge, the lobby, and the room service. I will definitely choose this hotel again next time!

The hotel's location in the old city center is incredibly convenient, close to the library, museum, cultural center, Kuanzhai Alley, and People's Park. The staff were warm, attentive, and detailed in their service. A truly satisfying stay!

First off, the location is great, close to Tianfu Square. The service was very attentive; the front desk proactively upgraded our room during check-in. The room was spacious, the bed was comfortable, and the breakfast was also excellent. I was very satisfied with this stay.

Overall, this hotel is really good, and the stay was quite comfortable. The breakfast selection is rich, with both Chinese and Western options, offering plenty of choices to cater to different tastes. The staff are professional and responsive, making guests feel well-cared for. However, I'd like to mention two minor details: the scent in the ground floor lobby is a bit strong; it can be a little pungent when you first walk in, though it gets better on the 25th floor where the main hotel lobby is located. I suggest the hotel could tone it down a bit. Also, room service deliveries aren't allowed to guest rooms, which I assume is for security reasons and is understandable, but it does mean a slight inconvenience for guests. And finally, you can't reach your room directly by one elevator; you need to transfer, which is a bit troublesome when you have luggage. These minor issues don't overshadow the positives, and overall, it's still highly recommendable. One more thing: the internet wasn't very good; it would be great if it could be optimized.

The overall service at the Ritz-Carlton is exceptional. The Executive Lounge on the 38th floor offers panoramic views of Chengdu's night skyline. Although it's a well-established luxury hotel, from the detailed service to the room service and dining, the hotel is very responsive in all aspects.
