The room itself was beautiful and the breakfast was good, however…we had no electricity in our room (no plugs, no TV etc.). We did not realise this until we can home from a wedding by which point reception was closed. I therefore called the reception in the morning and politely asked if they could send someone to take a look - the answer was no because she was working alone and didn’t know what was wrong because the switchboard looked fine. I said fair enough but what time will someone be able to look, she was unable to provide an answer. I understand this is a small pub with a small team but if you are charging £225 for one night, you expect to have electricity or be offered an alternative room or a partial refund.

The place is incredible. Staff are always so lovely and it’s a place you can actually sit and have a chat with the team. Good pints. Incredible new menu. Nothing is ever too much of an ask. Particular shout out to Kiki who looked after our table all night and was a true gem

Booked an evening family meal in the restaurant a week ahead and received confirmation. When we arrived on time found that our table was no longer available - it looked like a large party had arrived unexpectedly. Were told that there were tables available in the garden and that we had not booked specifically the dinning room. Quite why we would do that a week before if rain was possible was unexplained especially as on the booking form there was no way to do this. When ordering premeal drinks it would appear that the vegan beer that I had on an earlier visit was not and the staff seemed clueless in sorting an alternative. The staff's interpersonal skills were sadly lacking compounded by a table visit from a large tattoo woman complaining about the way I had communicated with her staff. We will not return or recommend this establishment to others and found a more friendly and efficient place to eat! The response to this review is a complete fabrication, after much discussion we were offered a table immediately outside the kitchen in the bar, which we had decided to accept despite the coming and goings of food at regular intervals. When I was spoken to as you would a naughty child for explaining that it was the Lion's mistake not my wife's I decided to spend my £250 elsewhere and would advise others to do the same - particularly if you are Vegan or suffer from any food allergies. Since I am trained in conflict resolution clearly the large tattoo woman is not and may feel that my logic and skill in pointing out their error was not appreciated. Lies were told me, liability has now been admitted in the response to this review - but not at the time!

Disappointing quality of food and very expensive for the very small portions served. The ambience and service, however, were good. They need to significantly improve their cuisine, menus and portions. We would not recommend The Lion Inn as a place for a good meal.

Visited for business a few days ago alone - the boss lady is an absolute gem, the warmest smile and contagious laugh - she could not do enough for me, instantly felt comfortable, all the team were so friendly and fast service. food was incredible. 1000% will be back.

The Lion Inn is a very pretty pub with a lovely garden and , in our experience , extremely helpful staff . Our meal was high quality , I can recommend the Pork Belly , and our party said the same of virtually every dish on the menu . We stayed the night in comfortable and quirky ( in a pleasant way ) bedrooms and well equipped bathrooms . As a person of height some areas , particularly the bathrooms , proved to be quite snug but this did not spoil the overall experience . It’s great .
