The Great George

If you enjoy the finer things in life then you will love The Great George! My room was beautiful with a great view. The staff are wonderful and so accommodating. I will always stay there and keep recommending everyone I know to visit. There is also a beautiful church just across the street

We stayed at The Great George Hotel which is a fabulous hotel and had a wonderful room. The bed was so comfortable! The staff is all about customer service. Free breakfast , tea and coffee free 24 hours, free cookies after 3pm and happy hour between 5-6. First drink free.Had a laundry room and soap was free.! I've travelled the world and this hotel is now in my top 5.

I stayed with friends at the Harris House, that is part of The Great George. Let me start by saying that just based on staying at the Harris House, I am very confused how this is a 5 star hotel. It is just a run down house, that they added temporary A/C units to. I would rate the rooms/overall house condition 1 to 2 stars. They really should renovate the entire place. The toilet was already broken when we checked in. It took them over 2.5 days to finally put a temporary fix on the toilet. So for 2.5 days, every time we flushed the toilet, we had to reach into the bowl to manually close the valve and that toilet tank was disgusting to look at and reach into. The wifi barely works in the 3 upstairs bedrooms (constantly disconnects), and the kitchen really only comes with plates and cups, and not really anything to cook with. When we ran out of toilet paper, it took more than 4 hours for somebody to show up with toilet paper. Imagine if we actually ran out while on the toilet!!! Oh and the only phone in the house could never connect to the front desk. It normally wouldn't be a problem except for that I am traveling internationally and only purchased an esim...so every time I needed something, I needed to walk to the main hotel building. Even after informing multiple people about the broken phone, it was never fixed during my 3 night stay. After complaining many times about the various issues, Management came up with solutions that we weren't happy about. Overall, I wouldn't recommend this hotel. There are significantly cheaper accommodations in Charlottetown with better breakfast and better service. Also, if you have trouble with stairs, DO NOT book this house. The stairs are super small and I could see people injuring themselves on them.

Check in was smooth but we never received a pre check in email as promised when the room was booked. Our room was lovely. However, the elevator was beside us and the noise was horrible throughout the night. In the early morning…around 7 am…soft classical music started playing. You could hear it from inside and outside the building. No way to “turn it off”. Breakfast was very good. The staff were excellent. The morning serenade, after a sleepless night, is enough to make me not want to book here again. The hotel is gorgeous. Top notch staff and an excellent location.

Lovely hotel for visiting quaint, historic Charlottetown. We enjoyed our stay in a ground floor room in The Stable building. The accommodations and staff were excellent. Breakfasts could be a bit crowded as the hotel was fully booked, but we still enjoyed the offerings as well as the chance to mingle with other guests. A very pleasant stay!

My husband joined me on a business trip, and we were extremely impressed with The Great George. The accommodations were beyond a typical boutique hotel. From cleanliness to heated washroom floors, everything exceeded expectations. Most importantly, the service and hospitality was five star! Sam at the front desk was professional, helpful, friendly, and caring. He went out of his way to make our experience one of the best in years of travel. My husband was with me because it was our anniversary, and Sam made sure it was special. Thank you to all at The Great George!! We are already spreading the word and plan to return soon.

We recently stayed at the Great George and highly recommend it. After driving 9 hours in the rain we arrived tired and a little cranky. The welcome from Aleena was exceptional. Smiling and very calm she suggested that we see our room since I was concerned it might be small. It was an incredible room . Then she offered to assist with unloading bags and showed my husband where to park. Aleena went above and beyond to get us situated and feel at home at the Great George. Our thanks Aleena The entire staff were pleasant, helpful, and accommodating. Our stay in Charlottetown was wonderful because of all at the Great George. Have a nice winter Judy M

Beautiful historic hotel. The room was tastefully decorated, clean and comfortable. The location was great, lots of great restaurants within easy walking distance. Ample parking. The only niggle was that the location of our room on the corner of our block meant there was a lot of street noise. Staff were great and the complimentary breakfast tasty.
