Hyatt House Charleston Historic District

Totally enjoyed my stayed. Decent breakfast and is very close nearby some of the best bars and restaurants. Jamell the Valet was kind and hustle to get my vehicle I would recommend using the valet rather then the garage base on the in and out perks valet offer which is a flat rate over the Self parking option.

The events staff was wonderful to work with, our conference was amazing, thanks to their team. They are organized, responsive and a pleasure to work with. The hotel is in a great location, the Pour Taproom on the rooftop was fun, and had spectacular views. Overall a great experience.

I stayed at this hotel as a Globalist Guest of Honor but didn’t receive any perks other than waived parking. I later read that some globalists get complimentary beverages/vouchers for drinks, but we were not offered any. Our room was disappointing - bathroom was old, and view overlooked U-Haul’s lot. I asked if they offered us a free upgrade and if we could get a room with a nicer view, but they said Hyatt Place has the better views but they couldn’t move us over because I booked Hyatt House and they’re fully booked. I liked the location, it was walkable. However we checked in late in the evening and the front desk advised us to take the free bus instead of drive and suggested we eat at Hyman’s Seafood. The bus didn’t come so we ended up walking and later saw a lot of free parking since it was late in the evening; I would’ve preferred if we drove since we wouldn’t have to worry about the rain and the walk was hot and humid. The restaurant was also a tourist trap. I later was talking to a server at another restaurant, and when I told him the staff at my hotel suggested we eat at Hyman’s he responded there are much better restaurants in Charleston.

Total check in as a Hyatt member was unacceptable . Couldn’t get a key for my room and needed to be escorted to my room everyone I left it . Felt like an unaccompanied minor and was embarrassing. Totally unacceptable . No options given as offering another room or different property. Paid 300 dollars for an room which I couldn’t get into without a staff member

Not what I would expect for the money we paid. The room and furnishings were shabby. Staff friendly but very hectic check in process. Location was convenient. I guess that is what we were paying for. I have stayed in NYC for the same price with much nicer accommodations and amenities.

Staff was not personable at all; hotel needs to spend some $ on maintenance/upkeep. The checkin process was very disappointing in that the staff seemed to be disturbed that I was there. The valet service as almost non-existent and I had to search for someone to assist me.

We enjoyed staying at Hyatt House in Charleston. It was a very nice clean comfortable room. The shower was great. It was close to the shopping on King Street and on close to the free city shuttle route. Would stay there again.
