Very nice hotel - clean, nicely appointed, convenient location + parking, friendly & helpful staff. Good breakfast - servers are exceptional. Afternoon wine + cheese an added bonus. Highly recommend staying there when visiting Charleston.

Just stayed here last week. Wonderful experience at the Kings Courtyard Inn. The staff were very friendly and helpful and the hotel is beautiful, clean, and very comfortable. The room was very large - we stayed in room 302. (Two queens) Very large bathroom, with the toilet and shower in its own room. They have a really nice wine reception every night from 5-6, with lite appetizers. What a lovely extra for guests. The beds & pillows were very comfortable. Plenty of room to unpack and they had two luggage racks! This hotel is located on King Street, in a quiet area, but super close to all the main attractions. Highly recommend this hotel!

We booked a 4 nights stay. The staff is friendly, but the hotel is old and has a dampness to it. On our third night there, we returned to the room, flipped on the lights, and saw cockroaches scatter. We immediately went downstairs and spoke with the employee at the front desk. He was kind but needed us to speak with a manager the following day regarding a refund, as it was 10pm and there was no manager on site. The manager called us the following day and told us that we wouldn’t need to pay for the previous night, but would be charged a $100 late checkout fee. When I stated that we hadn’t checked out late because we simply felt like leaving, but because of roaches, she offered us a gift card with our remaining balance so we could return another time. I declined that. Following a conversation with her supervisor, we were offered a refund for the two nights, leaving us only to pay for the first two nights.

We travel with large groups regularly, and the King's Courtyard Inn has been exceptional to work with! Ginny and her staff were so helpful and available to us at all times. When we arrived, all of the keys were ready to go, and there were even informational sheets about hotel amenities and the schedule for our guests. It was the smoothest and most considerate check-in experience I have had with a group! Our group truly enjoyed their experience and loved the happy hour too. Thank you for going the extra mile. We look forward to staying with you again next year!

While traveling home from a vacation on Kiawah Island, we experienced a problem with our car that required an unexpected one night stay in Charleston. It was around 9 a.m. when we realized that we needed to find a place to spend the day and night while waiting for a part to be delivered to the car dealership. Because my husband and I had previously stayed at the beautiful John Rutledge House, a sister property to Kings Courtyard Inn, I called Kings Courtyard Inn and explained our plight to front desk clerk, Zack. Zack allowed us to check in early to a beautiful deluxe king room on the 3rd floor. The historic hotel is beautifully maintained and quite charming. The room was clean and nicely appointed. But the absolute best part of our stay was Zack and his excellent customer service, which included dining recommendations as well. Thanks again, Zack!

We celebrated a combination Mothers Day and Birthday. Staying at The Kings Courtyard Inn was the perfect choice. Located in the middle of everything we were able to park our car and forget it. We could walk to everything. The warmth and charm of the Inn takes you back to a bygone era. Nothing to do but relax and enjoy. The location, rooms and staff were wonderful. I especially loved the courtyards. Thank you, we will be back.

The staff were friendly and helpful in suggesting dinner places. London served us breakfast and was friendly and efficient. She remembered what we ordered before! The location of the Inn was perfect for shopping (City Market was just a block or so away) and dining. We would not hesitate to return .

We thoroughly enjoyed our 4 night stay at the Kings Courtyard Inn in historic Charleston. The Inn was surprising quiet and laid back considering the location on bustling King Street. We were close to many excellent restaurants, within walking distance of many attractions and near the bus stop. Our room was modest but comfortable. The bathroom was a highlight given its spacious countertop and large drawers for storing self care items. The breakfast was simple, but we enjoyed the option of eating in the breakfast room or having a tray delivered to our room. The highlight of our stay was the evening happy hour. We loved the hotel "sommelier," Ross, who kept us entertained with his excellent service and gracious sense of humor.

Staying in this lovely old hotel feels more like staying in a private home. The rooms are beautifully decorated and welcoming. We even enjoyed the fireplace after a cold snap came through. I love the interior courtyard with a gurgling fountain. The breakfast in the dining room was made to order. All of the staff were delightful and helpful. Would definitely stay here again!
