The service is good. I asked if I would like to help us with our luggage or send me to the airport. A welcome drink is also provided. It does feel like a high-end hotel. In addition, they can do valet parking, just park the car next to the hotel and find their staff.

The location of the hotel is definitely very good and a plus point.
We were greeted in a friendly manner and the lady at the bar gave us a welcome drink. The hotel looks quite high-quality at the entrance and you feel like you're in good hands. I would say it's not 5-star level, but around 3.5-4 absolutely.
The room we were given unfortunately had no windows (the description said there was one). No problem for us. Our biggest criticism is that there was no door in the shower because it had been removed. So you couldn't shower properly without water spraying outside. When we told reception, they just said ”we didn't know” and preferred to answer the ringing phone and leave the guest standing there. Who would know if not the hotel, so unfortunately it's far from 5-star service. We expected a small apology and that the problem would be taken care of. I think it's a real shame that you pay so much money and then get a room that doesn't meet the standard and isn't really at the level you want it to be given to guests. Luckily we only spent one day here and had previously spent the week in a real 5-star hotel.
I can really only give this hotel 3/5 stars overall.

This Hotel is fabulous, the staff are outstanding, helpful, friendly and will go the extra mile to help. Breakfast is fabulous. Bar prices are reasonable with a great selection of drinks. No draft beer. Whilst on Holiday my wife had a fall in town. We got back to the hotel the bar person, first aider and manager attended to my wife showing great compassion. Administered first aid and then directing us to a nearby clinic. The Hotel is close to the harbour and shopping area. Highly recommended.

I booked to Elia in Chania and I called the day before to ask for a shuttle from the airport to the hotel (the hotel offered this service). I asked for the driver to have a POS so I pay with a credit card. A driver came at the airport, he was nice but did not have POS because nobody from the hotel informed him about it. Thus, I had to walk with him around the city to a taxi place where his partner had the POS to pay. At the hotel and during my check in I was informed that my breakfast will not be served at my hotel but in another hotel 300 meters away. I complained because this was not written in the description of the room/hotel. Then, I had to walk with my suitcase to the hotel I booked (the check in was at the hotel where breakfast was served). When I arrived I found out that there is no elevator and I had to carry my luggage upstairs which was not possible because I broke my hand a few months ago (see pictures). I called the reception of the hotel and they told me that they do not offer groom service. I went to the room and left the suitcase downstairs. I informed the reception that either they should arrange so the suitcase is carried to my room or offer me a free cancellation. Moreover the room had a bad smell...I do not know if it is humidity or the smell from the bathroom... I also asked for a room change afterwards. The manager refused through the receptionist to offer me a free cancellation or change me room. The only thing the reception did was to send a person to carry my suitcase to my room. Terrible experience, I do not recommend this hotel chain to anyone. The management is UNPROFESSIONAL and offer NO CUSTOMER SERVICE! Of course I informed ********** immediately and they were trying to find the manager but he was hiding!

I was very pleased with my stay here for 6 nights. I arrived late at night so the hotel reception was a little tricky to find, and I was nervous since all the shops were closed and the streets were kind of empty but actually the neighborhood is entirely safe and right in the middle of all the action. I loved having everything right at my doorstep - restaurants, shopping, the old town center. The room was clean and actually much larger than I expected. Good wifi, powerful air conditioner, comfortable bed. Overall I had a great stay and highly recommend for anyone watching their budget but wanting to be in the heart of everything.

Glad we booked a taxi from Chania airport to the hotel through the hotel as the night porter met the taxi and walked us to the hotel, about 8 mins from the back road. We are so grateful for this as we wouldn’t have found it so quick and with a lot of luggage. Access from the harbour side is probably easier to find the hotel but further from any road or parking. He then took us to our room and the hotel up the alleyway opposite where breakfast is served and explained everything, excellent service and very friendly. All the staff have been very friendly and helpful. View from room and balcony was amazing, right on the harbour, with plenty of good restaurants and cars around. Sound proofing is good too with very little noise coming through at night. Comfy bed and good air conditioning. Beach towels available from reception with nearest beach at Nea Chora 20 min walk away and lovely. Breakfast is served up the alleyway in a sister hotel, not far. Self serving with most things you want fruit, cereals, nuts, yoghurt, honey, toast, cheese, ham, fried eggs, bacon, sausage, various sweet and savoury pastries, Greek specialities ( the stuffed mushrooms were very tasty). We didn’t use the roof terrace as we had our own balcony. Negatives - We were in Room 7 (only 8) , the wooden shutters do not cover the top of the balcony window and doors therefore letting in the light from sunrise. For those less mobile or unsteady on your feet, there’s no lift and no handrail on the curved stairs for the upper floors. But would definitely recommend.

First of all, l will get the negative points out, which are not alot, only 3 small points. 1 was the bathroom....very small, we had to stand in the shower to be able to close the door when entering the bathroom as there wasnt enough room to move around ! 2nd the tv kept losing the stations, therefore, we could not watch any tv. And lastly, the ”dressing table” had the mirror so high, l had to sit on 2 pillows to be able to see myself (and l am not a short person !) But as for the rest .......The enormous bed gave us the best sleeps ever, it was a spacious room, very quiet as we did not have a seaview, which suited our mood fine ! The breakfast was at the hotel nearly next door, and had a very luxurious breakfast on offer from fresh fruit to fried eggs......fresh bakery items lots of choices. The girl behind the counter l think Constandina was extremely helpful. she even made us a breakfast bag as the day we were leaving was very early, which we found very considerate of them. In all, it was a very pleasant experience

Every hotel staff was smiley, friendly and helpful. We received welcome snacks snd message in the room. The room was modern with air condition, high ceiling and nice amenities. Breakfast was buffet-style as and adequate. Location is very close to many shops and restaurants but without the noise. I enjoyed the deep tissue massage at their spa.
Enhancement areas suggested for Room 11: shower door does not close; the queen bed was two separate single beds put together instead of one mattress, and with separate bedcover sheets instead of one queen sized bedcover sheet; a kettle would have been useful.

The room was spacious and the hotel was super clean and extremely comfortable. Everything felt brand new and the service was really 5 star. We were happily surprised to learn that the indoor swimming pool is actually just a giant jacuzzi. We spent an hour there on our last night which was super nice. The bed is really comfortable and the place is quiet. There is a valet service for parking your car and we got welcome drinks and snacks on arrival. Thanks again for the free bottle of wine and fruit bowl as a VIP welcome gift. We really enjoyed and will come back to this hotel if we ever visit Chania again one day.

IIndia DBCute, cuter, cutest. Elia is the cutest. The sheets were comfy, the bed stiff yet plush. My wife enjoyed the balcony although the view was slightly over mediocre. The free, fresh cookies and eggs were a nice touch. The fridge did make brown noise but really, at the end of the day, I think it helped us sleep better (even though we had to wake up at 4:30am to catch our local bus to Heraklion to make our 9am Blue ferry—but this was delayed too). Good thing we remembered to leave our keys in the room.
GGuest UserWe were warmly welcomed by Eva which set the stage for a wonderful stay at Alcanea Boutique Hotel. Our room was charming and comfortable and we enjoyed using the sitting area in the courtyard. The hotel is well located with a view on the port while set back so that it is not in the bustle pedestrian traffic. The breakfast was plentiful and delicious and special options were prepared for the gluten free and dairy free needs of one diner. Our laundry was done in one day and well organized by the hotel. Next time we need to stay longer!
FFaran and Co. International TranslationsGreat value for money! Comfy and cozy, newly renovated 1 bedroom apartment. Great communication with the owners, easy check in- check out process.
Free parking. Close to everything, in a quiet neighbourhood.
They even added a complimentary bottle of wine 🍷.
Couldn't ask for more.
I will definitely rebook it whenever I go back to Chania, Crete.
GGuest UserStayed in a female only dorm. Food is nice, low cost. Facilities are very clean. Staff extremely helpful. This is a very calm hostel. Lovely pool. Not all rooms have air con. No one tells you if balcony doors or windows are open- the air con switches off. Towel rental is €3. Only thing I can fault is they are very strict in no socialising in communal areas after 11pm- but for some people thar might be a positive
ААнастасія ГлавацькаToday, I have landed back home after spending amazing week at this family-run hotel. I can definitely tell you that it was one of the best holidays I have ever had, filled with nice people and great Greek weather. The hotel is located very conveniently, you have a lot of shops and restaurants nearby. Lidl is just 5-7 min walk. Next to the hotel there was a great coffee shop- Move on. Next to the hotel there is a bus stop which will take you to Chania city centre for a nice promenade and a delicious dinner. Hotel itself is of an apartment style with amazing pool which was always well-maintained and clean. Every day the girls made sure that our room is clean and we have new towels, and they were making quite impressive compositions from flowers and towels😁 The manager of the hotel was extremely friendly and always dealt efficiently with any requests we had. Breakfast was delicious and overall our stay was extremely enjoyable. Definitely visit this hotel to feel the amazing Greek hospitality.
GGuest UserThis is a tiny boutique hotel with actually relatively large rooms . There is NO parking as you can’t drive into the city centre, so you will have to call ahead and they will send someone to drag your luggage all the way to the hotel . The place has a history as it was a house of an aristocratic Turks during the ottoman ruling . The rooms are modern and extremely comfortable , wide , the service is great . It is very close to everything you need , the city centre, the boats , the market etc… I will definitely recommend this hotel and I will stay here next time we come back to Crete .
CCoryZhang777What I liked about Evans apartments is the decoration. it's a quiet cute stone apartment very close to the beach with many cafes and bars nearby. The host is very welcoming , the bed is comfortable there was an Illy coffee machine with two capsules and everything you may need in the kitchen. The shower was okay but the water got cold for the third person to shower. I did not like the fact that we wanted a separate one bedroom apartment but they air condition was only in the big room so we had to leave the door open for the third person to get some cold air. Also have in mind that the blinds don't block the sun. So if you have a problem with light getting in your sleep make sure you take your mask with you. In general I would stay there again if I wanted something near the center of Chania.
GGeorgeGreat location, easy to get to from the public bus station. Unfortunately, my stay wasn’t the best as there was zero sound proofing - I could hear everything the upstairs room was doing (which lasted until around 3am). A real shame because otherwise this is a brilliant property, but I barely slept during my stay.
GGuest UserYou’ll walk up 50 marble steps; elevators are forbidden in Old Town. You’ll have trouble finding taxis; streets are pedestrian-only. You’ll talk with Reception by phone and email. Your reward will be one of the most magical balconies in Greece, at the top of Chania’s Old Venetian Harbor. We booked the 4th floor One-Bedroom Suite at the Elia Estia Erato building of Elia Hotels and loved every minute. Elia Hotels Group has renovated historic buildings around Chania into over 20 boutique hotels and apartments. It’s not the Ritz, but you can get that in the US. In Greece, the glitches are worth it to experience Chania up close. Old Venetian Harbor doesn’t just glitter like a storybook–it is a storybook, with more history than anything Disney could imagine. On the stairway landing was a full set of knight's armor (photo). Our balcony had a panoramic view of colorful baroque buildings, dramatic fortresses, an historic mosque and the medieval lighthouse–all reflecting in the harbor at sunset and at night (photos, video). Below us around the harbor were two dozen fine seaside restaurants. In walking distance were huge 16th century monuments to explore and beaches with even more great restaurants. Mr. Antonis Yiakoumakis, Ms. Despina Liakou, and Ms. Maria at Elia Zampeliou Hotel Reception a few streets away (which was our Reception Desk), helped us so much! They showed why Crete is famous for hospitality–even when coping with historic buildings. Historic buildings, for example, don’t have a lot of furniture. There were no drawers for clothing, no place to put modern clam-shell luggage. But when we asked for a luggage stand, they somehow got a large extra table up 3 flights of stairs for us. When I needed smaller bills, Mr. Yiakoumakis personally took me and my 50 Euro bill door to door among local tavernas as waiters whizzed by with heavy trays, until we found a cashier with change. The ambiance was superb, the local food is fantastic, and most important, the people are wonderful. If you need anything, call or email; they answer quickly. When we asked for a few extra towels, we got a weeks’ worth. When the city tore up a nearby street, Ms. Despina personally escorted us to and from our building. Need something? Just ask! :)
QQingTheir reception is 5 minutes away that means no one will greet you, and you have to wait for the staff to come and open the door for you. It is noisy at night
