Résidence Pierre & Vacances Premium la Ginabelle

We visited March/April 2024 as a family with a larger group. We had two apar**ents for up to 6 people (one had 4 and the other 5) These were self catered and we were provided a small cleaning pack (small washing up liquid, small antibacterial cleaner, 5 dishwasher tablets, and a few cloths) and toiletries which were three small shower gel and shampoo solid bars and one toilet roll. These were small and not enough for everyone all week. Over the week we had to buy rubbish bags and toilet roll. Towels were provided (one hand one bath per person) and two robes regardless of the makeup of the people in the room. These were hard and not luxury as you would want for four star. The room was spacious with a double room, a twin room and then there was a double sofa bed. We didn’t use this but the other family did and it wasn’t particularly comfortable. Bedding was provided and this was quite comfortable. I don’t think that the rooms are big enough for 6 people personally. Not on a holiday when you have all the ski clothing in the room. There is a lack of storage for bulky clothes and we generally left our coats on the sofa bed. The rooms were not particularly clean. The toilet is in its own room and in both rooms smelled like a urinal. The bathrooms were ok, and the showers hot and powerful enough. We did find that down the side of the sink was dirty and had not been cleaned for a while. The rooms were not cleaned thoroughly between uses and I didn’t like walking barefoot. The socks I wore in the apar**ent were black with dirt. The general areas are not particularly well maintained either. Someone had left a bag of rubbish on the bannister of the stairway and this was there three days later when we left. The cutlery and plates are plentiful. The kitchen is adequate with a fridge, microwave/oven, dishwasher and hob. You can eat in if you like which we did a few times. Some of rooms have spectacular views from the balcony. Others not so much. You are given a ski locker with the room which was spacious and helpful and kept wet boards and boots out of the room. The swimming pool is great for bad ski days, with the sauna and steam rooms being roomy and lovely and hot. You have to ask reception to turn these in and these facilities are only available when reception is open (so not between 12-3pm) The hotel is well situated for the train station and the bus stops and town. You get free train travel from the hotel and this was so much quieter than the bus. It is only a short walk to the bars and restaurants which is great after a long day skiing. In checkout we left our bags at the hotel for a few hours and these were left in the fitness suite. Not helpful for those wanting to use it and not particularly secure. I think a better system is needed. The receptionist was lovely and helpful. I wouldn’t stay here again mainly due to it claiming to be luxury and to be 4*. If it was appropriately priced for a 3* I would consider it. However, if I was

What an amazing place! Hotel was wonderful, super charming, staff was so helpful, everyday they made restaurant reservations. Pool was so wonderful to use along with the hot tub after a long day. Hotel was very clean and just a relaxing place. Everyday just sitting out on that lawn, enjoying the view, so peaceful. We had a superior room with balcony and it was just great, cleaning staff came everyday. Breakfast was AMAZING, I mean that buffet was beyond words! I hope one to come back. And I appreciated it wasn't in the center of town, just a little bit out of it and I'm glad, the center was a bit too hectic for me.

We had the BEST experience here!!! The help who works here are so lovely! Mohammed actually gave us a ride when we didn't realize the bus schedule had changed getting back into Italy. He even helped check us into our new hotel because we don't speak Italian! He has amazing language skills! Agustina was right in front of us on the bus and heard us trying to figure out where to get off. She offered to help us and walked us right up to the hotel. She was our server at the restaurant and gave us suggestions for a hike. She is so personable and we just really enjoyed her! Those are the memories that stay with you on a new adventure!!!

The room was very nice and it was all perfect until it got cold Friday nite and we could not get the heat to work. We asked 4 times but only one of the people at the front desk could reset the control on the wall and that happened mid Saturday. The staff apologized repeatedly. The parking spaces were below the building and so we rode the free bus to town. The internet would not reconnect if you left the room for the day. We got emails a few days before, while we were still in the US, for precheckin phone number. We didn't get a French phone number until we were in France so we had to call the hotel from the US. I think most of the patrons here are from France so that precheckin works for them.
Heliopic Hotel & Spa

We stayed at Heliopic at the beginning and end of our 7-day TMB backpacking trip, and we loved it! Although not the most central location, it was an easy 10-20 min walk to all the main food and shopping areas and located right next to the cable cars for L'Aiguille du Midi. It's also located next to the road, which made it very easy for Mountain Drop-Offs to drop us off and pick us up for the Geneva Airport. The hotel and rooms were clean with contemporary-chalet decor. The lobby has a large lounge/bar area, free coffee and water (still and sparkling), arcade machines, sitting area to listen to tunes, and a children's play area. The Nuxe Spa was a god-send after 7 days of backpacking--be sure to schedule your massage in advance! And Akashon, the restaurant, was delicious and set the bar high for the rest of our trip. The staff were also so responsive and helpful both by email and in person. We left our luggage at the front desk while we backpacked for 7 days, and they locked it in a back room so it was safe and secure. Thank you Heliopic for the wonderful stay, we can't wait to visit you again soon!

This is a small boutique hotel that offers spectacular views of the alps. The service is impeccable. Many thanks to the whole staff for their many kindnesses. Marieke the concierge is the best: no request goes unanswered. The balcony rooms offer unparalleled views of the Alps and are quite spacious.. The bar staff are great. Many thanks Rasheen for your excellent and genial service. BUT: There is a road just behind the hotel with very busy traffic. We live in a city but we still found it disturbing. You must leave the balcony doors open in the summer; otherwise, you'd be sweltering, and you will hear traffic all night. On our last night, a Saturday, a dozen or so young people sat on a wall between the hotel and street drinking and carousing until 3am. Barking dogs. We hardly slept the whole time we were there. The worst is that the place is overrun with babies and children under 5. This is a small 5 star boutique hotel . it should be billed as a family venue. We tried to spend time in the lovely garden area, the only public space in the summer, and were constantly beset by crying babies and children running around. If you are looking for a relaxing venue in nature, this, alas, is not it. Breakfast offers no table service and the buffet is often quite crowded and out of things. The food is subpar. Any decent 5 star hotel has a good club sandwich but not this one. The croque monsieur was meh.The terrine barely edible: a freezing cold mass of fat. Ugh. Poor wine menu. It could be a great place, and was when we were there 15 years ago, but now, not. If you have babies and small children, you'll be welcome.
