We stayed in Castelsardo for two nights and had decided on the Meli long in advance. We were not disappointed! The location is perfect for exploring the town, the car can be left at the hotel for a day (free parking). Afterwards we read something about rental bikes on Tripadvisor, I would be cautious about that, or rather inquire about it. In any case, check-in was very quick and the staff at reception were always friendly. Our room was spartan but functional, the various little things like the layout and selection of fittings in the bathroom were already familiar and somewhat charming. The room was otherwise spacious and clean, good air conditioning and a relatively large TV (not tested). The roof terrace is brilliant, inviting you to sunbathe, watch, but also to eat food you have brought with you. According to a notice, this is not permitted, but must date back to the time when there was a restaurant in the building. There is no such thing here (anymore), only breakfast for hotel guests. This is average to good in terms of selection. The quality and the staff are great. The price-performance ratio is good overall. Incidentally, there is a variety of beach equipment under the stairs for free use and a small library next to it offers reading material on credit.
