Oh my, where to start... We arrived in the afternoon to a chaotic scene in the lobby. The internet was down and there was no way to check in guests. We waited approximately an hour for staff to figure out a workaround so that we could be checked in and room keys created. Meanwhile, waiting guests needed the restroom. This too was unavailable because it was out of order. We were told to walk to the gas station across the street. This included a guest who was waiting with us who was disabled; I watched his wife help him into their car to find a restroom he could use. I find it curious that in a hotel full of bathrooms, there was no accommodation made for the comfort of guests who were already being inconvenienced. Why did they not open a nearby room for this purpose? The " hot " breakfast was skimpy pickens at best. No eggs or sausage. The only hot item was a make your own waffle option. The coffee machine was also not in working order. The internet never did work while we were there, so there was no wifi during our stay. Staff was not happy to be there. We were able after some coaxing to get a smile out of the gentleman working the front desk. The other staff, nope. No smiles or cheerfulness was seen. I got this distinct impression that those working at this hotel think they're in the room renting business instead of the hospitality business. We are Diamond level guests of the Choice hotel chain, and stay at many of their properties. This one does not fit with the experiences we typically have at Choice hotels. Both the property and the staff are in need of remediation.
