We stayed at Chalet Ficalho for two nights as a special treat and it was exactly that. The house has been beautifully renovated to a really high standard without losing its character. Our room was lovely and clean with a huge bed and great shower and lots of space. The house itself has a lovely calm feel to it and we even got to make use of the pool as we were lucky with the weather. It’s in a great location, easy for walking on the coast or into town. And finally the breakfasts were just delicious, lots of choice and the best quality ingredients. Thankyou Maria and team, we really hope to return sometime.

Excellent petit déjeuner, lit très confortable avec chambre spacieuse (king room) , maîtresse de maison aux petits soins , délicieuse qui parle parfaitement Français. Maison magnifique, très bien meublée ! Cernée par un beau jardin. Emplacement optimal , a l'abri du bruit de la ville.

Loverly hotel with great staff. Breakfast superb, rooms superb and comfortable and great bathroom. Location excellent to walk to and around Cascais with local bars and restaurants 5 minutes away. Plus free parking. Remarkably old building that has a lot of history. Excellent.

This was a lovely stay in a very beautiful and historic building - the hosts are charming and do a great job of making you feel at home. They are also a mine of information on the local area - what to do and where to go as well as what to avoid. We had a huge and airy room with amazing views out of the windows and the breakfast with freshly squeezed orange juice and home-made cakes was superb.

Es war alles einfach perfekt. Tolles und sehr liebe volles Haus in ausgezeichneter Lage. Der Service war jederzeit perfekt. Das Frühstück auf der Terrasse ein Traum. Die beiden Gastgeberinnen waren unglaublich freundlich. Wir haben uns sehr wohl gefühlt.

This is an amazing place you need to stay. This is a very large old house with 9 bedrooms, a couple of sitting rooms and a dinning room. Breakfast was great. You have a choice to eat inside or out. This house is location the art district within easy walking distance to restaurants, the beaches and train station. I highly recommend staying here. There is also a pool. Maria is one of the owners and was very friendly, helpful and made the stay special.

What a find! We have just returned from a fantastic week at Chalet Ficalho looked after by the wonderful owner Maria and her daughter. Maria is the fourth generation to live in the property which has recently been refurbished with great care to retain original features but bedrooms now have beautiful bathrooms with walk in shower and super powerful shower. Beds are extremely comfortable. Breakfasts were superb, featuring hot food cooked to order, selection of cheese, cold meats, fresh fruit salad, breads, croissants and delicious homemade cake made by Maria. The property is perfectly situated being close to the centre of Cascais and beaches but in a quiet location. The pool is in the delightful gardens where you can enjoy a selection of drinks. The property is a short drive from Lisbon airport and also close to Sintra and many museums in Cascais. We hope to return!

Estar no Chalet Ficalho é uma destas experiências difíceis de avaliar. Em um mundo em que o servir parece uma obrigação incomoda, experimentamos um misto de elegância, carinho e qualidade. Como avaliar um hotel em que todos os dias se é recebido com um bom dia da dona da casa, buscando identificar o que se deseja no pequeno almoço? E cada trabalhador exibe um sorriso de genuína alegria no trato cotidiano? E ao longo do dia cafés, chás e bolos provocam a gula dos que entram e saem? Onde uma área de piscina ilustra um belo e amplo jardim para deleite de todos? E o Chico … capítulo à parte, um cão d’água português, tradição de várias gerações da família e que passeia calmamente, trazendo mais um elemento de afago no ambiente. É lugar para voltar!!
