Excelsior manor offers a relaxt stay in an old mansion with a beautiful garden. Breakfast is served at the pool area, overlooking the wine fields. James is a wonderful host (butler) during a delicious dinner (3-course menu and good wines). Kirstin helped us with anything we needed, making is feel at home.

One of our best experiences- 10/10 for everything- wonderful staff esp Kirstin and James! Location and accessibility - first class, beautiful gardens Very clean and neat- fridge available in our room with a kettle and tasty rusks. Port also available in our room at no cost House-wine available with wine-tasting included in the price Breakfast - lovely display, very tasty, eggs prepared to perfection- and with a wonderful view Dinner available- we did not have it but it looked delicious Highly recommended!!

The engagement and service delivery of James and Kirstin was superb and we definitely will visit again. Our 2 night stay was simply too short. The food was delicious!

What an amazing concept, by showcasing boutique winemakers, olive farming, lavender farming, coupled with an amazing food experience and scenic walk. The walk is a definite must, because you will pick up serious weight without the walk. You do not have to be an experienced walker, but able to walk about 3 to 4km per stint (totaling between 10 to 12km p/day). I would recommend this for a group of friends of at least 4 doing this together, as there are 20 people on this trip and this can sometimes be that a bigger group can take a going a little over the top and becoming loud. That would not bother you if your have you own intimate group of at least 4, but you might feel isolated if you are only a couple. I guess this all have to do with the make up of the group and this will not be the norm I guess. I can't wait for the next time doing it and we will definitely be a group of at least 6 to 8 friends. Plan ahead, because I think they easily get fully booked. Until the next wine walk.... :-)

Our visit to Excelsior was something very special! The guesthouse was delightful with all the comfortable bedrooms en suite. The staff were amazing, friendly, efficient and hugely helpful to any request. Some of the guests were unable to manage all the walking and were transported to the various destinations to meet up with the rest of the group. The food was excellent and beautifully presented. We greatly enjoyed the walking which was interspersed with a variety of wonderful activities - wine tasting, visits to olive and lavender farms ,a cactus and succulent nursery, a boat ride on the river and a visit to a magnificent garden. Add to this a group of friends and you have a perfect recipe for a memorable holiday. Well done Excelsior!

Perfection. Our group of 18 were here for a 4 night 3 day wine safari walk. Kirstin, Michelle, James, Jaco and support staff took care of a seamless experience. Highly recommended.

What a wonderful experience we had. Beautiful walks to different wine farms, not too hectic so those who are less fit would definitely be able to manage. We also got to visit a lavender farm, olive farm, and cactus nursery. Food and hospitality were superb wherever we went. I would definitely recommend and will definitely do another one.

From the first call made to Kirsten all arrangements were very professionally done. Being welcomed by James was the start of a special experience. The room assigned to us was very comfortable with all required items and sherry. Dining was a great experience and enjoyable, once again thanks to James for his attentiveness. Dawn's catering needs were well looked after both at the manor house and at lunch times during the walks. All the walk stops were well planned and their was never any shortage of wines to taste, lunches served were great. Jaco is an excellent guide with exceptional knowledge of the area and environment and we enjoyed our walks. The blending of our own wines and bottlying thereof, as well designing of our own unique labels, was a special experience. The people that we were with, from all walks of life, were an enjoyable bunch and we were soon chatting like long lost friends. All in all an experience that I would very much like to repeat, thanks to all.
