What a gem in the middle of the Karoo!!! We spent the first night of our 2024 flower tour at the Karoo 1 ...the room was perfect, fireplace, Victorian bath...the full package! To top it all off... the MOST amazing restaurant is just a stone through away...it was truly an unforgettable experience!! Our next visit will most definitely be a longer stay in this breathtaking, stunning hotel!

What a beautiful place and very friendly staff. Pro's • Well priced • Neat and tidy • Great amenities - Aircon, TV, fireplace, heaters... • Beautiful scenery • Friendly and helpful staff Con's • Lack of communication • Not all rooms have Fireplaces as some is broken and you are not notified • Parents room did not have a TV remote We loved our time there and will go back anytime. The personnel were friendly and very helpful. Definatly recommended.

Before we booked we read some reviews,people are kind,but you have to be honest. Our worst experience,bad food, restaurant did not have the wines that was on their wine list,no bread rolls to make prego rolls or any type of burgersThe room is old and tired.Please do not go there

Durch die vielen gemischten Bewertungen waren wir etwas skeptisch. Aber das war unbegründet, denn Karoo 1 ist fantastisch und hat alle Erwartungen übertroffen. Die Anlage ist in hervorragendem Zustand, Räume und Badezimmer sind großzügig gestaltet, geschmackvoll und mit viel Liebe zum Detail. Die vielen Skulpturen auf dem ganzen Gelände und die Gemälde sorgen für eine besondere Atmosphäre. Die Ruhe und auch der Felsenpool tragen zur Entspannung bei. Der Service ist freundlich, zuvorkommend und gut. Man sollte mehrere Tage einplanen, um dieses Paradis zu geniessen.

Allemaal nieuw personeel die zelf ook zoekende waren. Twee voorbeelden; 1) Receptie geeft aan dat er geen omkleed gelegenheid is bij het zwembad tussen de bergen. maar was er wel.
2) Rekening van het diner bij het uitchecken niet bekend bij de receptie, daar zelf aangegeven wat we gebruikt hadden.

Great place to stay , attentive super helpful and friendly staff. Comfortable spotless rooms , great walks and delicious food . Can not recommend this hotel highly enough. Stayed for three nights two on the way to Afrika Burn with a huge trailer and one night on my way back also with a huge trailer. Safe parking and great showers . I will be back, this place is a hidden gem.

Way outdated and pictures don’t match in a sense the reality.
Actually a lovely place with loads of potential but without care and maintenance not the best to stay with…given reviews this goes a while now and still is.

What is amiss with this property is the complete disregard for the litters of kittens on the property. Not a good indication of character of apparently 3 owners in various locations who are not interested in sterilising the cats . Very distressing to see poor, wee hungry kittens, very small and very scared. I can't comment on the rest of the place as this took precedence over our entire stay

Our stay was under unusual conditions. There had been a major rain storm in the past few days with some severe flooding. Despite this our stay was excellent. We spent a fair amount of time at the bar and the food and the service was exceptional. Loved the room as well.
