I recently stayed in the Aurora building in a 2 bedroom suite. Positives: Highlighting both positive aspects: While the building itself left me disappointed, I have to commend the guest staff at Solera for their consistent friendliness and helpfulness. From answering questions to resolving minor issues, their professionalism and genuine care stood out. Mentioning spacious and clean suite: My spacious and clean suite, as mentioned previously, remained a highlight of my stay, offering a welcome respite from exploring the town. It's important to note that my stay was booked through Airbnb, and the hosts were fantastic throughout the process. Their communication was excellent, and they were readily available to answer any questions I had. Negatives: However, the building's condition had noticeably declined since my last visit. Door frames stood bare, stripped of their casings, holes, and dings in walls, worn out and dirty carpeting in hallways and the exposed garbage chute was an eyesore and potential safety hazard. It feels that the building has simply not been kept with its finishings. The pool area, once inviting (in my previous stays), had devolved into a state of disrepair. Murky, opaque water shrouded the bottom, raising concerns about its cleanliness. The high chlorine levels stung my skin, and the hot tub appeared equally neglected. What should have been a refreshing oasis became a source of unease. Most alarmingly, the ceiling fans above the pool deck sported a thick layer of black mold (or black dust), with visible flecks raining down into the water. This blatant disregard for hygiene was deeply unsettling and raised serious health concerns. Further highlighting the lack of upkeep, the garbage chute door partially ripped away from the wall when I pulled on it, dangling precariously and refusing to open properly. Disposing of trash became a hassle, adding to the overall disappointment with the resort's condition. (Aurora Floor 1) Overall Impression: My previous experience at Solera had been positive, but this recent visit revealed a disturbing decline in the building's upkeep and overall hygiene. The visible lack of maintenance, particularly evident in the pool area and the presence of mold, raises serious questions about the commitment to guest health and safety. While the guest staff's dedication was commendable and the Airbnb hosts were great, it did not outweigh the concerns about the building's state. Given that the suite was in decent condition, I would return however would not use the amenities. The amount that the property owners are presumably paying in condo fees, it may be time to review their property management agreements.
