Catalonia Punta del Rey

If you want something cheap and cheerful this is perfect for you. It's very confusing as there's very little information given to you on the hotel We were twin room and no fridge or kettle apparently they are premium but as a seasoned traveller are usually standard 1 of our beds was squeaky and moved but fair sized and cleaned often. The maids in fact were amazing We got woke up at 6am every morning by the bins getting emptied and also couldn't sleep in afternoon due to kids club noise which was loud. Which I don't mind just not constant in standard siesta time. Every room and floor had its own issues it seemed but we were OK in ours and happy it had a bath. Although if you have kids there's tonnes for them to get involved in My daughter was a huge fan of the whippy icecream which tbh was really good The hotel is pretty full so changing rooms is hard. The hotel is very very dated and the food is not great at all but has a wide variety and does themed nights which was cute and had lots of options. Pop is very sugary so we often bought from hotel shop or supermarket which was very reasonable but sadly no fridge. Pop gave me bad heartburn tbh and the wine it's also different across the different areas. Weird you can only get water at dinner from the bar in a bottle unless you are premium seemed odd. Didn't use adults only pool but heard it was nice. And that's where the recent works apparently are Slushies, variety of pools, good entertainment team, snacks (peanuts, crisps,olives) are all wins for this hotel. Unfortunately a pair of trousers I had got ruined by bleach but tui and hotel sorted easily Has a highly rated beauty bit with the fish that eat ya dead stuff. Location wise we liked it we walked to town and ate out a couple of times and was treated very well and it was cheap. The bar needs more staff at peak times but enjoyed the terrace bar and odd act at showbar all good fun. They went to town for Halloween which was great and well received The tiles at the pool once wet were very very slippy and my daughter hurt herself a few times Sunbeds are terribly uncomfortable and need upgrading There's a huge community of regular visitors who go back several times a year all very friendly and chatty It was a 3 star half term break and a really good price so wasn't expecting the world McDs is round the corner and ya can uber it. Booze is not great but strong and ya can buy some from next door premium if that's ya thing or from bar. Beers Amstel Late check out is 30 euro which is a bargain but as hotel was rammed not always available Sadly came back ill but is what is is Wouldn't come back but can understand why people do. It's a quieter end with easy access to places and good weather most of the year

A big thankyou to the manager and all the staff who worked hard to ensure that we had a lovely holiday, and we certainly did. We were in superior room 902 the sea view and looking towards Candelaria was fantastic. the room was lovely and the bed enormous with a welcome pack and chocolates every night also dressing gown and slippers, the adult only pool was excellent and quiet, and the superior area had two infinity jacuzzies, the only thing it needed was some parasols for some shade. The food was excellent and plenty of choice. Las Calatilas where the hotel is is a nice place to walk around by the sea also there is a bus stop
