Pestana Colombos Premium Club All Inclusive

A true adventure at this hotel!!! I would like to share that when choosing this hotel I had several criteria, the main one being the PESTANA hotel chain. Eager to learn about these services, I was immediately disappointed upon arrival when we were placed in the villas without being asked whether it was in our interest or not, I even mentioned my health condition, which was ignored by the receptionist. A villa with a total LACK of cleanliness.. We arrived and found that the private pool was dirty, for a week there was no cleaning. In the shared kitchen that we don't use, the sink has several glasses full of mold. The room was super cramped, nothing like the photographs on the website. It stores suits without light and very poor cleaning, dust, sand, sheets with stains, in short... I never thought about it. I went to reception and expressed my displeasure... but it took a few days for them to hide the situation. As for the restoration... TERRIBLE... Lack of organization, lack of availability. The tables were too close together, often they didn't even let us choose where we felt most comfortable. The food had days when it was pleasant, but other days it felt like we were in Morocco on vacation. I apologize for mentioning this situation, especially because I loved my holidays in Morocco, but in Portugal it is to eat in good Portuguese and to feel that we are welcomed in our country. Few employees spoke Portuguese, having to speak English if we wanted to request something. On the beach I found it very uncomfortable that it was mandatory to pay when we wanted to stay on a sun lounger, nor in this situation was the health/physical condition of the guest taken into account. I found this experience to be very bad and I will hardly return to a hotel in this chain, I am very sorry because the opinions we had did not coincide with the reality I found.

The hotel is very far from being a 5 star hotel. The building is deteriorating on the outside and in the rooms. There is no maintenance. The shower didn't work and the bidet only came out with boiling water. Room cleaning is basic. They don't clean the balcony or the dust. The restaurant and bar staff are all young and untrained. They are never attentive. The wine served was of poor quality and they placed a full bottle on the table with the cork already open. Buffet with basic food without any menu of traditional local dishes. Restaurant only serves until 9:30 pm, which on vacation seems inappropriate to me. We had to go eat at a restaurant outside the hotel because after 9:30 pm they don't serve food. The themed restaurants are not good quality. The beach towels provided are tiny. The windscreens provided are all broken. The girl Monica at reception was the only exceptional collaborator with us, resolving everything and always with a smile on her face.

When we booked a Pestana at a considerable price with everything included, we had in mind guaranteed quality as it was... a Pestana. The Pestana Colombos is supposedly a 5* hotel, however, the services fall far short of this rating. There are several things that fail and make the experience very weak for the price paid! The restaurant's food is poor and repetitive. The restaurant service is very poor! Very few staff - which results in questionable hygiene with children's highchairs always very dirty, for example. The employees' clothes were always very dirty, at 7:30 in the morning they had just been taken to work. You have to fight for a spoon, a plate. Restaurant never opens at the supposed time. In the rooms, dirty towels. In a supposedly kids-friendly hotel, there is a show on Thursdays right in the center of the hotel that goes on until 11pm and doesn't allow anyone to rest, it even makes a lot of noise. There is a baby pantry that serves only as a landscape, with spoiled cookies and opened formula milk for who knows when. Kids Club out of operation. We weren't able to take advantage of any of the themed restaurants because it's difficult to get places and the only one that has one doesn't allow entry to children under 12 and requires formal clothing (a super old-fashioned concept that doesn't make any sense, especially in the context of a beach vacation). Otherwise, the facilities are good, the hotel is quiet, without the typical loud music and excitement of all-inclusive hotels in August (for us, this is a plus). The staff is friendly but we found employees in the restaurant complaining behind their superiors several times, which is unprofessional. Proximity to the beach is incredible and the pools are also good.

Reasonable room for a 5-star beach hotel but in need of renovation. The TV worked poorly, with constant stops. The bedroom carpet was full of stains and needed a good wash. The meals were the biggest disappointment, very repetitive. Live cooking worked poorly, grilled sardines looked very bad. There was a lack of fried eggs in PA, difficulties in replacing the food. Absence of the cook to make omelettes for the PA, etc. The buffet was very little varied and poor, boiled potatoes, French fries, roasted or sautéed potatoes, some sautéed vegetables, very weak fish and 1 or 2 meat dishes. There was no shortage of cooked sausages!!!! The desserts weren't bad! Foreign employees and some without knowing how to speak Portuguese!! The pool snacks are just poor and a shame for a Pestana hotel!!! The reception staff were very poorly prepared to provide information. I had to go to the Pestana Porto Santo reception to book a tour of the island. Fabiana was very friendly, helpful and competent. In summary: hotel not to be repeated and in no way corresponds to a 5 star hotel.
