Courtyard San Jose Campbell

This was a "typical" Marriott Courtyard. We choose Marriott partly due to consistency-you know what you're getting! Even though there were a bunch of people for a sporting event, the hotel was still quiet, and we were well taken care of. The bed was comfortable, the room quiet, and people were pleasant. One reason I don't always choose Courtyard is because you don't have the easy complimentary breakfast available. The Starbucks had a good selection of breakfast items, but you need to order and wait. The benefit is that the food is fresh but I'd prefer to simply choose something ready to go and be done.

Kudos to the Courtyard for going pet friendly recently! I travel everywhere with my dog so they got business that they otherwise would have missed out on! And they have a nice hot tub. My only suggestion is that they provide more dessert options besides a large chocolate chip cookie (which was quite good...)

My significant other and I stayed at this particular hotel last year and the staff, the food, and the ambiance were wonderful. This year my significant other and I stayed here as well and again everything was great!!! I want to especially thank Marriott hotel staff Steven, Joanna and Jorge for making this a great stay:)…. Even though I did not get her name, just wanted to say a big thank you to the nice lady who cooked the food for us! Great food! My significant other really loved your scrambled egg breakfast and we both loved the potatoes:)….

Stayed here a few days in January 2023. Saw two roaches in the bathroom of my room (sorry, I only managed to kill one of them). I did report this to the Front Desk, and they said they would put Maintenance on it. They did apologize, but the gentleman didn't seem that surprised.

A surprisingly well maintained and stylish-modern Courtyard. Everything I checked were clean - windows, bathroom vent, coffee maker, surfaces, and thank goodness no hair in shower stall; and, it was a relatively good Bonvoy point redemption at better than 1/2 cent per point (27k points in early November). I see that right now, it's a poorer redemption - 25k points versus around $110, so should check before deciding points or cash as the value proposition appears to vary for this property. Either way, I found it to be a relative bargain in the area. Additional positives are that the room was fairly quiet and bed/pillow was comfortable. Service was acceptable, nothing out of the ordinary. That probably perfectly sums up my experience in this property - perfectly satisfactory and nothing out of the ordinary. It is a Courtyard that perfectly delivers what it is suppose to. The Rating: Cleanliness: very good, +1 Comfort Overall: satisfactory, +1 Functionality (do things in the room work properly?): satisfactory, +1 Staff Friendliness/Helpfulness: satisfactory, +1 Value - Relative: yes, +1 Bonus category - absolute value: certainly value for the area, but can't really say the same on absolute terms, 0 Total: 5 Would I stay here again?: Absolutely, I will every time I'm in the area.

There were ants in our room. At first we thought it was only the bathroom and realized they were in the bed too. I talked to the manager the next day and he apologized and is going to refund my stay. So I greatly appreciate his understanding of the situation and taking care of it.

Everything was good aside for parking. Called the hotel prior and was told parking garage was 8 foot height clearance. When we pulled in the lower level was 8’ but almost all handicap parking or clean air vehicles. Second floor and higher where there was actual useful parking for vehicles went down to 7 foot which didn’t work for mine that was 7’2”. Had to pay $15 a night to park and couldn’t even use their garage…
