SOL Hotels in Cambrils

An ideal place for a ”seal” holiday for the whole family. The beach and the sea - you can't imagine any closer. Clean, comfortable, tasty, modern. In a word - perfecto! The animation is decent, both kids and adults will like it. The rooms are very comfortable. The staff is without arrogance, very welcoming. The prices in the wine list at dinner are completely loyal, there is no need to save on the nearest supermarkets. All I needed was a gym.

We arrived at the hotel after lunch and were chuffed a room had just become available. Check in was smooth and efficient. It was advised that our dinner reservations could be swapped to lunch if we chose and I thought this was good. We were handed a note regarding not reserving sun beds for more than 30 minutes but it said that staff would only intervene if there were absolutely no other beds available ( I will comment further on this later) Room: our room was at the front of the hotel facing the road. This suited us fine. The room was a good size as was the bathroom. The safe was free which was nice. Although about 100 tv channels, only one was in English (sky news). There was a kettle and teabags in the room but no coffee. We bought milk in the shop over the road and stored in the fridge. There was shower gel and shampoo in the shower. The air con was a little loud but worked fine. We needed the extra blanket on our bed. Restaurant: on arrival we read the advertised dress code stipulating long trousers for men. We were in for a shock on the first night when about 50% of men (and women) were in shorts and flip flops. The percentage decreased as different guests arrived but I wouldn’t take it too seriously as plenty of others don’t. I felt a little overdressed some nights. Also with the dinner service not starting until 19:30, a Que starts forming outside from about 19:10. I’d say as long as you’re in before 19:50 you should be fine to get (and pick) your own seat. The kitchen staff run (literally) around with hot dishes from the kitchen and we saw near misses most nights so please watch out. The food was nice with dishes rotated on a weekly basis it appeared e.g. pasta was available every night but there was a different sauce. A lot of the food didn’t suit my tastes but I enjoyed what I had and there was a wide enough selection at both dinner and breakfast. Pool area: the pool area was pretty to look at but not practical in my opinion. The shape of the hotel and the big trees mean a lot of the loungers (maybe up to 70% from around 2pm) end up in the shade. Perhaps with it being October, we managed to get a bed when required but we noticed some terrible bed hogging (one couple left their loungers for 4 hours!). Based on the ‘rules’ we were handed on the first day I presumed no staff would intervene as technically there were a few other beds free but these were ones which would get no sun. If you want a bed in the sun all day, you need to get one on the front row from my experience. The flies, not just around the pool, but the area in general were terrible. You couldn’t go 15 seconds without swatting them away from your face and body. I’m not sure if there was a reason for this but it was particularly frustrating (not the hotels fault but definitely something to note!). You can pay 10 euros for a towel which is refundable with the wee receipt (we weren’t advised to keep the receipt so when we went to return the towels at the end of our trip we end

As a frequent visitor to beautiful Cambrils, I had the absolute pleasure this year of finding availability at Estival El Dorado for my most recent trip. I had an incredible stay & will most certainly be returning next summer & likely for even more after that. The property is best suited for those seeking tranquility & relaxation. It offers a welcome disconnect from anything that remotely resembles a bustling tourist *****. Whilst still a family friendly resort, it certainly has plenty of facilities geared solely for adults & it is perfectly pitched at middle aged to active elder people. It is a fantastic venue for those who have no interest in partying the night away, it isn't surrounded by the usual touristy bars & infrastructure. It is set in the towns outskirts & is within a quaint residential zone. Cambrils is a small Catalan fishing town that is blessed with cultural points of interest & is wears it's tradition proudly. It deserves total respect from tourists. Estival El Dorado makes a great base for genuine cycling enthusiasts & there's scope for daily expert guided rides from the resort. For the absolute leisure rider, a long cycle pathway exists & bikes can be hired locally. Top tip - I would at all costs avoid using 'Drac' the local bike hire company that supplies hotel guests with cheap rentals...the bikes are not at all maintained, gearing & functional pedals are clearly a luxury you give up when you rent a bike from Drac. Honestly, they are an absolute waste of time. There are better quality rentals elsewhere, even if they do cost a bit more. Returning to Estival El Dorado, the food was very reasonable & though I had previously read reviews & even overheard a few grumbles that would suggest the contrary, these opinions were largely from some UK tourists who had less adventurous palates. The catering staff do an incredible job catering for holidaymakers & working on an extensive buffet menu for each & every meal service. It should go without saying that budgets & logistics prevent the hotel serving up Michelin starred meals via a buffet service but going on my experience, anyone slating the standard of foods & the range offered are likely just being very unreasonable. Staff at Estival were all incredibly professional, courteous & welcoming, all the way from cleaning staff to waiting staff, reception to spa, cooks to children's entertainers. Not a single person was anything less than a credit to the hotel & to the industry. The bar staff were all lovely, attentive, efficient & friendly, though if I were to pick just one member of staff for individual praise then the absolute jewel in the company crown was to be found running the Sports Bar each night. Clearly staffing is an area in which Estival El Dorado excel. In addition to all of the properties facilities & services, the area around the hotel is also very nice & is ideal for a relaxing break. In summary, I can highly recommend this hotel but would temper that recommend

I just love this hotel, I ve been doing our holidays in the last years only at Caesar Augustus or Augustus as part of the same grup of hotels. Food is delicious, always plenty of options, staff at reception always friendly, chambermaids and staff from restaurant and bar always on move and give a quality service.Location is perfect, you have a lot of options to visit Salou, Taragona6, Reus and Barcelona. I always come back there for our summer holidays in Spain ♥️🇪🇸

Just returned from a week at Cambrils Hotel. Having read a mixture of reviews I was open minded that perhaps it was not quite a 4 Star hotel and had some issues. In fact we didn't encounter any issues with abrupt staff or witness any favouritism towards Spanish guests in the dining hall. All we saw was staff working hard. We stayed half board and enjoyed both breakfast and evening meals. Breakfast suits all nationalities and the evening probably more towards Spanish guests. However, it is important to remember it is a Catalonian/Spanish hotel and many guests are international. Friday was our last evening and there was a wide spread of fish and shell fish. Some members of our family used the live cooking regularly, pizzas burgers etc. As for myself I seemed to consume fish all week! All of our family couldn't fault the food, but as people's tastes vary with food, I guess it may not suit all guests. Our room was clean on arrival and cleaned everyday. No complaints. Shame no kettle and for 4 of us it was a slight squeeze in the room, but we managed. Was a bit disappointed only 2 plastic chairs on the balcony when there was 4 people. We manged to find English channels on the TV from number 50 onwards. The room wasn't very sound proof which was noticeable the last two nights due to new arrivals . Ear plugs advisable if light sleepers. We enjoyed the location and walked to both Salou and Cambrils. Used the bus for Tarragona and booked an excursion to Barcelona. If you're looking for a more livelier resort , then Salou is probably a better location, Personally I preferred Cambrils. However, the hotel is not in Cambrils but Vilafortuny. The beach is close by which is good as getting sunbeds at the hotel can be an issue. We needed a base and this hotel ticked the box. I was glad dinner was at 7pm rather than 7.30pm.. maybe due to season but it was appreciated. We wouldn't hesitate returning to this hotel.

The hotel is located in Cambril in the Vilafortuny district. The rooms are made every day and clean, and the voices in the corridors are not badly heard and if you are just up to the party room you can hear noise in the evenings. When you're k.o it goes through or you'll get a box ball. The breakfast is really a 10/10! I've tested the sports room , small but great with the basic machines and even the alters. And to finish the host was more or less good. Finally at Check-in the host was a little cold and not very polite. But other hosts and hosts are good. You can rent bikes at the hotel for €9 per day (tested but not approved so a hostess made us a commercial gesture).

Con fecha 18 de Marzo de 2024 fuimos en familia al restaurante del Hotel y salimos muy muy satisfechos. La carta muy variada y múltiples opciones para escoger. Destacar la Escudella que hacen y ofrecen de 1r plato, casera, abundante y con un sabor espectacular, junto con ello los Mejillones a la plancha, se nota que son frescos y buenos ya que su sabor es increíble. De segundo plato escogimos el balao, huevos rotos y croquetas. Personalmente escogí el bacalao y es delicioso. Los postres caseros y muy ricos. Destacar el couland y la tarta de queso. El personal muy agradable y servicial. Recomiendo muchísimo este restaurante. La calidad-precio es fantástica y estoy seguro que repetiremos.
