Me and my daughter loved Madingley Hall, and the beautiful grounds. We knew about the location before we booked, so we knew it is a 15 minute taxi-ride to the centre. An excellent breakfast is included - for diner you usually have to go out. Definitely book if you are looking for a beautiful country estate, friendly staff, comfortable rooms, beautiful lawns to relax on and some peace from the busy city of Cambridge!

Delightful and historical. The gardens are gorgeous and warm staff so friendly. Dining hall is awesome and the waiters in black and white uniform. So unique. Free parking and the place is wonderfully peaceful and quiet and beautiful. Don't expect incredible rooms! It's like student accommodation with luxury handwash/shower gel/shampoo etc. Bit old furniture (70s like) and well worn. But that's ok. It's worth it for the fab surroundings and quirky building! Resident spiders in bathrooms. Mine was called The Duke. We kept out eachother's way. First bedroom had dodgy plumbing and rubbish shower and quite grubby. Huge bathroom spider. But offered an alternative which was clean and better bathroom. But The Duke was already resident and became my roommate 😁

Stayed for one nights B and B at the Hall. Lovely grounds, staff were friendly, breakfast was buffet continental or cooked and was ok. The room itself was fine too for a one-night stay. You are only a 5 minute drive to the nearest park and ride into the city which I would suggest you take - parking in the city is a nightmare. For the money paid for a weekend B and B stay inc. b/fast, I would recommend it.

The building is quite amazing and has a lot of history, it's in need of some TLC here and there, but that is to be expected. I was at Madingley Hall for a seminar, it made a nice change from the bland hotel meeting rooms generally on offer. Dinner was a mixed bag, long banquet tables and very noisy (in a good way), it reminded me of school dinners. The desserts were always exceptional! The staff were all very nice and helpful, all in all a very nice experience.

If you have a chance to stay here with the Institute for Continuing Education, Cambridge University, do. I mean, it's not the Hilton but that's not why you're here. It's comfortable enough and has so much history, and the educational programs are amazing.

Fairy tale meets modern world. What a lovely place. very quit and a during the day a perfect place for conferences, because there are a lot of meeting rooms. Breakfast was tasty and everything was there. Cosy bar in the basement

First of all, the estate is part of Cambridge University. Seminars are given here - it's about continuing education. The property consists of the historic building and a new building. You should keep this in mind when booking here. The room was accordingly practical, if a little outdated. But that's not why you go here! The property has a historical charm. The old castle is in top condition. In the dining room it is almost like in Harry Potter - long benches in front of an ancient huge fireplace with corresponding portraits of the builders. The gardens invite you to relax. It's a great atmosphere. When do you ever have the opportunity to stay in such surroundings? The service in the house is very reserved, friendly and helpful. We only enjoyed the English breakfast - this was extended to include croissants, muffins and the like. We also went for a beer in the bistro in the evening. All in all, we had a very pleasant stay.

We found the location grounds and the actual building itself quite breathtaking Plenty of parking, which allows easy access to reception. Easy check-in being handed an a to z of facilities and timings breakfast etc. Our room was clean and had everything we required for a one night stay. Yes the shower lacked power but did allow us to freshen up. Towels bedding spotless and fresh. We had a very restful sleep bed very comfortable, and we allowed for the odd banging of other residents doors no doubt we were culprits at some stage. Woke to the lovely sound of bird song. Breakfast was just fine .plenty to consider, and the young staff were on hand to assist. The bar area we cannot comment on due to the fact that we had previously booked a table at the nearby three horse shoes which we highly recommend . In conclusion, we would definitely recommend this accommodation . Some would say that it's a negative that the nearest bus stop or park and ride is 15 minutes drive from the hotel however the benefit is that upon a day in the city you must book the local pub for exquisite food and remain local. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay.

Visited for afternoon tea, a 60th birthday present. Nice location with lovely grounds and walks available. Pleasant waitress who was also running the busy bar. However, photographs advertising the tea were not at all representative of what we actually received. 4 finger sandwiches each, 1 small, flat scone each, 1 individual Victoria sandwich and 1 individual red velvet cake to share and a tiny macaroon each. The photos showed several cakes and looked much more appetising and like other teas I’ve been to. We were not asked if we wanted a top up of tea. I shan’t be recommending Madingley and feel embarrassed on reporting back to my friend who kindly bought me the voucher. I also had to go to the bar and tell the waitress that we hadn’t received the glasses of fizz which should have been included. She looked surprised and apologised. As I said I felt they were understaffed and she was very pleasant and helpful. There were no questions regarding allergies nor explanation of what we were served which is normal for afternoon tea. Very disappointed at the poor value for money. Luckily the good company and location saved the day.
