The hot tub is under maintenance, what a pity. But staff service is excellent

Room 121. Two queens. Apparently all the queen rooms in the older style face the main road and are nosier than my last stay, which was a king room around back, 110. Major complaints were the mini fridge is way too loud, making it hard to sleep through the hum at night. My two complaints from my last stay from two years ago remain— mattresses are old and need to be replaced and they should have hooks to hang wet suits in the rooms. Seems like the transition of the property to the Hyatt change occurred in the past two years since my last visit, although maybe I didn’t notice last time. For the price range in Calistoga, best option with a pool unless you want a major price upgrade to Indian Wells next door.

Started our California vacation at the Calistoga Motor Lodge for three nights. We are big Hyatt people and try to use our points when we can to save on trips. The bad: 1. Breakfast doesn’t start until 8 on weekends and not served at all on weekdays, which is nuts on two counts: globalists get breakfast and we were not offered any equivalent credit and also bad for out of town folks who maybe wake up early due to time change. 2. Housekeeping wasn’t every day, not sure if this was a mistake or not, and not communicated. 3. Only gave us two bath towels, at a resort? 4. Bathroom counters are tiny and essentially nowhere to put your toiletries. 5. They offer pour over coffee but not a keurig or a nespresso which on vacation is a nice convenience. 6. Charge a resort fee (globalists don’t pay on award stays) but there is no gym, no grounds really to speak of, just a pool and some yard games (and bikes that we never saw anyone use). This is not a resort, it’s a motor lodge. 7. Hotels need to stop doing the half shower glass door. 8. This is not a Cat 6, Hyatt. The Good: 1. Restaurant surprisingly good, pizzas excellent. 2. Welcome drink 3. Location right off the Silverado trail and a nice walk in the mornings into town 4. Hot tub/pools after a long wine tasting day 5. Friendly service Ultimately, this is a perfectly acceptable hotel but Hyatt and management have some things to think about. This hotel is not worth either cat 6 points or some of the egregious peak season pricing. But it could be excellent if they address some of the challenges.

Great Location, the Pool is perfect, and they're building one more! The food was excellent, staff was very friendly. Great for the price! The only issue was there was just one Ice machine. That is just odd with so many rooms. Add one for all your guests. Loved our terrace, great for coffee in the morning.

We will be back. We loved everything about our stay at Calistoga ML. Loved the pools, the people, the location. It was easy to lounge around all day and walk to town. We even borrowed the bikes and toured the charming town. The poolside food/beverage services was great.

José M. and José Sr. are amazing! The service is great. We will definitely be back. The hotel and service and the food is excellent! Can’t say enough and can’t wait to come back! Totally unexpected! The rooms are also modern and great for a family of four!

I had the pleasure of traveling here twice this year: once in July with my family for vacation and in October for business. Both visits were incredible. The staff is friendly and knowledgeable, comfortable and eclectic rooms (I've stayed in both the newer rooms the original ones), and a mineral pool that makes me never want to leave. The onsite restaurant is delicious and you are within walking distance of shops and restaurants. If you are looking for places to stay in the Napa Valley, don't miss this gem!

We were in room 604 (2nd Floor) and the sun set on our room/door and therefore made key fob heat up and rendered it useless. When we initially went to the front desk they tried to say it was our fault for placing the keys next to our cell phones and quickly dismissed us after "reprograming our keys". However, the key still did not work so there we were again, explaining we could not gain access to our room. So they eventually called maintenance who met us at the door with a wet washcloth and ice. He explained that the sun, setting on the door caused overheating and disabled the key fob and therefore, every time we needed to go in and out of the room would require us to go to the front desk and ask for assistance, unless it was in the evening or in the early morning. It was so annoying and besides that, the hotel was unapologetic about it, offering $200 off a $3k tab. And to make maters worse the hotel did not clean our rooms, ever. We had to go to the front desk every other minute and ask for clean towels, coffee, toilette paper, Kleenex, more towels, washcloths, hand soap, etc. etc. It would be different if they had told us they didn't refresh rooms upon check-in, but........ guess what?! They absolutely did not let us know at check-in that they would not be cleaning and restocking our room daily. So there we were, with dirty towels no coffee, arguing amongst ourselves as to whom would again call the front desk. However, this is not about the staff. The staff in the kitchen and the restaurant were great and the bartenders were amazing. But the facilities were not.
