"Madeira is more than Funchal, and the Quinta das Vinhas is a superb place to relax in natural and beautiful surroundings. The view to Colheta and the sea is breathtaking. Two swimming pools, surrounded by manicured gardens and the vines, are at your disposition. The Quinta is decorated with exquisite taste, as are the rooms. The restaurant (only dinner time) is excellent. The staff attentive. My only regret is to have stayed there only two days!"

"The staff at this hotel were excellent. The location high on the clifftop is superb. Breakfast is full international They run 'open seating for breakfast and dinner. Dinner is buffet style - the choice is very good. They have an indoor and outdoor swimming pools. Car parking by the hotel is difficult but there is a good parking area about 300m up the hill. Our biggest problem was the lack of air conditioning anywhere in the hotel. I think this is unacceptable in a modern hotel in 2023. It was hot - 34C+ in the day and the south-facing rooms get very hot in the afternoon. Reception suggested we leave the patio doors open when sleeping!!"

"Just the perfect place on the planet to find rest for body, mind and soul. The staff are friendly and go out of their way to be helpful. The house we stayed in was beautifully appointed with a view of the open sea and the most stunning sun sets. There is fresh produce in the splendid gardens which can be picked for a great salad. They even make their own cider - which is very tasty. Genuinely one of the nicest places I have stayed on the planet."
