Good location, breakfast is relatively simple, the room is old, the elevator is quite old, but the overall condition is better than the domestic Super 8.

Holiday Inn Express & Suites Calgary South-Macleod Trail S, an IHG Hotel Horrible stay at this hotel! (Dec 31st/Jan 1st 2023) If I could give it a ZERO star, I would. Don't waste your money on this horrible hotel. It should be demolished. My partner and I stayed at this hotel for 1 night on December 31st 2022. Check in was difficult at 4pm. They said they weren't sure if our room was ready, even though check in time starts at 3pm. We were the only people in the lobby at that time. We waited about 20 to 30 minutes for the staff to give us our room cards. Once we were in the elevator we saw a sign that said pool area is out of service until further notice. This was one of the main reasons for staying at this hotel. We couldn't use the hot tub, pool or water slide. We were very disappointed that no one told me when I called to make the reservation a month before or even when we checked in that afternoon to the hotel. Once we got to our room it looked nice until I opened the blinds to the window. There was thick black mold all over the window sill. Pictures provided. It was really gross! We then made our way over to the bathroom where we found more black mold in the shower stall and up the walls. The shower stall and the bathroom sink faucet wouldn't stop dripping. We called the front desk she said because it's a holiday weekend we are short staffed. No one did come to fix the problem. Walls are paper thin. We could hear people talking in the hallways and the TV in the room beside us. On the morning of January 1st 2023 we went downstairs for their hot breakfast to find only 2 apples and 3 muffins left. I asked the desk where the hot breakfast was as this was another reason for staying at this hotel. She said because it's a holiday no staff is here to prepare breakfast so this is what we have. Very disappointed we packed up our stuff and checked out. We asked to speak to the manager about a possible refund or a partial refund because they didn't inform us about the pool closure or the non-hot breakfast. (If we knew about this ahead of time we would have booked elsewhere) The lady at the desk gave us a hard time saying the manager was on a call and couldn't talk to us, then saying he won't be in the office till a later date. She offered us 1 small bottle of water for the inconvenience. After we got home my partner called the manager and left a voice-mail. It took over 2 weeks for them to actually connect on the phone. The manager of the hotel finally gave us a refund of $35 which was OK but we will never stay at this hotel again. I will also tell anyone and everyone I know not to stay here.

Not bad, I was given a room facing the Calgary Tower. There is nothing to fault, but there is nothing remarkable. It is a very ordinary star hotel, which feels more suitable for business people. If I were to choose again, I would not choose this one, because it is so common...

It's convenient to go around, but the parking is a bit tossing for 45 a day. The price of valet parking is fair. Basically, the hotel here can bring dogs to stay, but there is an additional fee. This one is 40

In order to take my children to attend the Christmas party held in the hotel, I booked it for two days so that I could see the party directly when I went downstairs. How should I put it, it is a better value for money in the city center. The location is very good, with Ctrain and Bar Street nearby within walking distance. The room service is also very good, and the food selection and quality are good. The crib is also a playpen; the room is too small, the water in the sink is not easy to adjust the temperature, but the bath water is OK; the bedding is a common problem in Canadian hotels, I really don’t like two sheets sandwiching the quilt, but it seems to be like this here; parking The daily charge of $35 is quite exaggerated.

Not bad, the three-star hotel is very clean! Convenient transportation! During the epidemic, basic services are good. The suites are large in size, and there are many ”eccentric street performance artists” downstairs. It is certain to exclude Chinese during the epidemic.

Everything about our stay was top notch. The room was immaculate and had everything we needed. All staff we encountered either at the front desk, bar, restaurant or housekeeping were very friendly and ensured all our needs were met. The hotel is located very close to the City Hall LRT stop, so travelling around town was very convenient as we decided to NOT rent a car on this trip. A caution though, this location is not in the ‘heart’ of downtown so we found it somewhat limited if you want to go out and stroll around for shops, restaurants etc.. Since we were here visiting family, this wasn’t top of list for us. Also the breakfast was fantastic and fully met our expectations.

The hotel is new, beautiful and well located. The breakfast room is impressive with its size, tall ceilings, views and terrace. The breakfast itself is great with its variety, including waffles and a delicious South Asian(?) vegetable stew each day. The suites are large and well equipped, and the bed comfortable. Now if only the staff could treat customers a bit better.
We paid $30 for underground parking, which was important to us because we got an upgraded rental car and were liable for it. On the second day, the garage was completely full, with more cars entering the garage - thanks to a broken capacity indicator that permanently shows 208 spaces.
Staff basically blamed it on the fact that the garage is a private facility unrelated to the hotel. They sent us to two nearby surface lots. One was only available till 8:00 at a cost of $22.52. The second one was a dirt field.
1. I don’t care whose lot it is. You sold me access to it at an extortionate price and did not mention any other options, implicitly endorsing it.
2. Don’t sell more spaces than you have, especially at that price.
3. Know and explain options. Don’t direct your customers to a lot that only sells space till 8:00 for over 3 times the price as the next lot. You are wasting my time.
Then at 4:00 am, we were woken up by a loud motor noise coming from the fridge. We had to move it and unplug it (it’s a full size fridge, not a hotel fridge). The clerk’s reaction? “Sorry about that, I’ll tell maintenance.”
We had one night parking taken off the bill. No consideration for the hassle both from the parking and the fridge.
You can do better. Better policies, better communication and a bit more generosity.
Overall, not a good experience.
BBrotherLiHomestayComfortable environment, there is grass in front of the door, there is a courtyard behind the house, there is a home in the heart, it is worthwhile to visit this trip, I hope that in the near future, you can come back to Calgary Brother Li B&B, talk about their lives again, no more words, can not express the sincere and sincere love in the heart, friends, you have come, Feel it, and it's worth the trip.
GGuest UserVery nice property. The guestrooms are well maintained and adequate for a good night of sleep. Staff and cleanliness are great. Breakfast is excellent. The hotel lounge has a small menu, but great for a dinner or a drink.
CChengMy stay at Hampton Inn by Hilton Calgary Airport North was fantastic! The hotel is conveniently located near the airport, making it perfect for travelers. I loved the free shuttle service, which made getting to and from the airport a breeze. The room was clean, modern, and very comfortable, providing a great night's sleep. I also appreciated the new coin laundry facilities, which were super convenient during my stay. The staff were friendly and efficient, and the complimentary breakfast had plenty of options to start the day right. Highly recommend for anyone traveling through Calgary!
CCompanion37367437583I stayed here for four nights in October, and found it to be comfortable and well put together. The room was clean and not worn or dirty. Beds were comfy with good linens. Towels were quite good. Amenities, meh. Enough, but the smell wasn't to my taste. I had a queen suite on the 6th floor--with views of the transit station and very distant mountain views--at a reasonable price. Quite spacious, and actually would've been good for a family--two queen beds and a sofa bed, plus small fridge/microwave/coffee pod machine. I requested partial housekeeping service--they replaced my towels and took the garbage every day, and I never saw them. I also appreciated that the room had enough LIGHT. So tired of glum-looking hotel rooms with a couple of lamps with weak bulbs. With regard to covid, we were asked for proof of vaccination at check in, and were told that we could then access amenities such as the pool and breakfast room. That's the law at this point, and I was glad to be asked. On the first morning, the breakfast area felt controlled and safe (I saw one small party moving around the room unmasked, but it was quiet and I was able to keep my distance). On the second morning (a Saturday), the place was VERY full, with lots of people not using masks, lots of unmasked and unsupervised kids helping themselves at the food table. Kids gotta eat, but parents should be helping and making sure they do so in a sanitary way (this is not unusual, but covid makes it worse). There was NO ONE controlling the room, no pretense of verifying that the people there were actually the ones who could prove vaccination status. (I actually saw one guest walking around barefoot--which is not a particular covid risk but is just gross.) Could they not code the room cards for access or no access and then code the breakfast room (and pool) to match? Wouldn't be perfect--someone's going to slide in behind someone else at some point--but it would be better. Also I know these places hate to see you carry food back to your room, but under the circumstances, a few trays to make it easier would be appreciated by those of us who prefer not to spend time with those who prefer not to follow the law.
GGuest UserI was in Calgary for the marathon, the start of which was an easy walk from the hotel. The staff were very accommodating, the room was comfortable, and I would recommend the hotel for anyone looking for a room convenient to the Stampede grounds. If you’re travelling light, the walk from the 300 (airport) bus stop is not too far.
FFrancescoDavicoRoom quite big, comfy bed. Forniture and stile very old fashion, or just old. Basic breakfast. Nice position in down town. Nice people at the reception
GGuest UserEverything was great - clean rooms, comfy bed, great breakfast, convenient shuttle to airport, very friendly and helpful staff - EXCEPT, in a hotel with “no smoking “ signs all over, we opened our room and were greeted by a very strong smell of cigarette smoke. We arrived after midnight and had to leave early, so I did not request a different room, and boy do I regret that decision. I had the worst night of sleep ever- the smoke smell was so strong. So if you plan to stay here, be sure you don’t get room 217, and ask if the room you are assigned was ever a smoking room. That’s all I can figure is what happened here. I would be very leery of staying here again based on what happened, and in spite of all the nice amenities the hotel offers.
Very nice hotel, clean, light and airy rooms and the beds were quite comfortable. the room I had all the usual comforts such as a microwave and a fridge. It also had a hot plate and utensils for cooking if required. It had an elevator for the tower and 2nd floor rooms on the eastern side. The hotel also had an indoor pool and spa. The staff were cheerful and helpful. If there is to be a fault it would be that the breakfast was very basic, to compensate there was a 24hr diner and an Irish bar 0.5kms away.
