I was on a pilgrimage on the Way of St. James and after a long stage I followed a recommendation here. It started off nicely but then... Mom is cooking a delicious meal tonight, they said on the phone / but unfortunately not because I hadn't told them the day before. Instead there was a small salad, some canned tuna with peppers and an omelette with cheese. No herbs, no slice of ham... not even an olive found its way onto the plate. A small yogurt from the supermarket rounded off "Mom's" dinner. Even the "complaint" to the American-speaking daughter only brought a "so sorry". Not that the Spanish guests got a sumptuous dinner - at least they left some of it back. My request to be taken back to town earlier the next morning was initially confirmed with "no problem" but then they said - it's not possible. The house is beautiful, the rooms are nice - a bit musty but 🤷♂️ and a beautiful garden area outside. In the pool, you could easily take out the vacuum cleaner if a guest wants to swim. But as a non-Spanish speaking guest, you are completely lost... It's a real shame and absolutely untypical for Galicia. In every pilgrim hostel, they tried harder. Not to mention the restaurants, cafes, etc. Unfortunately, I was charged more than was shown at *********** the next day. I can only advise - please avoid
