MARITAMAGO
November 7, 2024
This hotel is located in La Línea de la Concepción, the town just before Gibraltar, a British territory in Spain.
It is about a 5-minute walk from the bus terminal and about 10 minutes from the Gibraltar border.
It is very accessible and the hotel is large, so it is safe.
We arrived at 9:00 p.m., and even though it was close to the bus terminal, it was a little scary because there were no people around and it was dark.
The hotel is old but clean.
They recommend eco-friendly practices (there is a clear sign recommending eco-friendly practices), so amenities are minimal.
There are no toothbrushes, slippers, or tissues.
It is better to bring your own if necessary.
There are no small towels, but two medium-sized towels and two bath towels.
The room I booked had a bathtub, but there was no bath plug because of eco-friendly practices.
But if you ask the front desk staff, they will lend you one.
When I asked about the conversion plug not fitting, they lent me an adapter, and the male staff on the night shift were particularly excellent! I stayed for two nights, and I was really happy that they called me by my first name on the second night as well.
Thank you!
There were two free plastic bottles of water.
In my case, I get thirsty easily and take medicine, so I explained the situation and they kindly let me use the water server in front of the front desk.
There was a balcony, table and chairs, which was nice.
I was also grateful that there was a clothesline (see: back left of the third photo).
The hangers in the closet were a bit strangely shaped so that they could not be removed from the hanger rack (this was the first time I had seen this type of thing).
The female staff was also excellent, and she gave me a copy of the bus timetable and gave me a thorough explanation.
If you're going to Gibraltar, the accommodation is reasonable and I recommend it.
