The hotel is brilliant overall. The room was big and clean, with the needed toiletries. The heating might be too warm for my partner and me, and we had to leave the balcony door open to let in fresh air. We definitely love the Japanese balcony and onsen bath. The food for dinner and breakfast was local and delicious. It's easier to get to the hotel if you drive. The hotel does provide shuttles. It would be better if the young staff could learn better English as there were plenty of international tourists. It did create some funny embarrassment. To our surprise, the staff member with the best English was the young lady serving us at the restaurant. We'd like to thank her for this. (P.S. I do speak some Japanese.) In sum, it was a great experience, and we enjoyed the stay. We highly recommend this onsen hotel to fellow tourists.

It was the smallest room, but it seemed to have been renewed, and the wallpaper and so on smelled good in the tatami table. The meal was colored 々 and enjoyed. The tea bowl steaming of foie gras was fat and it was impossible for the elderly, but I had a lot of ground things such as salmon and cow in Joshu. I was happy to see me left-handed and to take care of me to replace the direction of the cheek at breakfast. The table interval was wide, and I could enjoy the meal quietly without worrying about each other. Yubata and bus terminal are close, but it is a calm inn in a quiet place.

I booked a twin room, but since the accommodation confirmation email said that smoking was possible, I asked for a change of room and changed it to a Japanese-style room. If you want to quit smoking, we recommend avoiding twins as all rooms can smoke. In fact, the smoking room smelled very strong, but the front desk was very good and I was relieved. The facilities are old but there was no problem. Is the sound of flushing the toilet noisy? It's quite comfortable. The bath is Mandai no Yu, which feels gentler than Yubatake no Yu, but Kusatsu no Yu has the power to make your body burn and sleep hard, it's a stone's throw! Both the indoor and open-air baths are quite large and comfortable. The food is the best! This cospa is wonderful for 10,000 yen! !! Moreover, it seems to be a service, but even though it was a basic plan, it had crabs! I dared to avoid crab because it was difficult, but it was still delicious! Thank you! , Is it hard because it is mainly made from Gunma prefecture and has 200g of pork? I didn't expect it, but I was very satisfied with the soft and very good meat at all! Breakfast is also on-parade from Gunma, especially the natto is wonderful and delicious, and it costs 3700 yen for 9 pieces, but I bought it as a souvenir. But considering this price, it's ok at all, and there is a transfer to the daitokan of Yubata, and it is a really wonderful inn with a lot of manga. Absolutely recommended! !! I also want to stay for a long time

We stayed here for 4nights and enjoyed the convenience of this place. We had a rented car and parking was easy. Room was spacious and heating was very good especially in winter nights. The owners gave us free breakfast on a Sunday and it was very nice gesture. The staff and owner tried their very best to make us feel comfortable, and they are the only ones in Kusatsu that speak a little bit of English to us. All in all, this place was very convenient and fairly accessible. Thanks for having us, will surely return.

Particularly satisfied, especially satisfied! Although this place is really biased, we checked out from the last place, went to Tokyo, and got off at 8 o'clock. Because I missed a bus, I could only wait for an hour in Takasaki City. Tram, then transfer bus to Kusatsu Onsen Station, we set the dinner, it is a pity to catch up, at 4 o'clock, Ctrip contacted the customer service to help us communicate, the hotel replied that if we arrived around 8 o'clock, give us After the meal, we really got off at 8 o'clock. The result was a delay in navigation and positioning. It was cold outside, positioned while walking, and finally led us to a very long and long staircase. My two friends’ boxes were super big, and they were not. Knowing how far the road is, I let them be sheltered by the cold wind. I went up to the hotel alone. I didn’t have any traffic lights. I only had one cell phone with no signal at night, and I was enough. Enough, there is a hotel on the path, asked the way, even wifi and basin friends said to wait a little longer, but also a part of the road, ran for a while, there is a road, many signs on the road sign have a hotel name, There is our hotel in it. I immediately ran in the direction. It was almost 9 o'clock when I arrived. After communicating with the Japanese staff of the hotel staff, the other staff member was Chinese. ! I came over with the little brother and drove the potted friends, and then went directly to the restaurant and ate. We enjoyed the dinner for three of us. We just went to the restaurant. After we finished eating, we said that we went out for a lap and the results were less than 1000 meters. I was afraid to come back. The hot springs are also our private places. Hahaha, the result is not so long. There is a place to drink outside. This ice water is really suitable for the hot spring drink. Back to the 3rd floor room, there is a elevator next to it. Convenience cabinet, it is strongly recommended that the peach wine in the peach flavor is 3 degrees. In this case, buy one, buy another flavor, but the other is sold out, there are particles inside, the taste is my 7 days before the trip. The only favorite drink for 5 days. The Japanese-style room we stayed in, when we checked in our luggage, the bed was laid out for us. There is a bathrobe, the quilt is very fluffy, very thick, we booked breakfast at 7:30 in the morning, please ask the staff to drive us to the station, we also want to visit the attractions, the result of the driver also went to the station to help us change Change! After we put the boxes in the store, we took the spots we went to! Originally, we just wanted to send us to the location of the attraction. After we finished, we dragged our luggage and went to the station. After all, we spent a day from Osaka. It’s impossible to say that we left. We stayed here in Tangchi. Hours, reluctantly walked back to the station and set off for Tokyo. By the way, the surrounding shops can go shopping with special products, I bought 6 hand creams to give people, and I don’t have enough points to go back, and I didn’t see it on a certain treasure, there is also a food limited by Kusatsu Onsen. A box of cheese and chocolate flavors, not bad, only to buy a box. In short, we spent a day rushing over and spent another 4 hours back to Tokyo, really worth it! All kinds of satisfaction! The staff, the Japanese sister in the lobby, the Japanese driver, and our Chinese brother, the other staff are also very good. People who want to go, don't want to travel as fast as we do, hahaha. Otherwise, there is no way to wear a bathrobe to go to the street at night. It’s really cold at night, and the ears are freezing.

Staff is extremely friendly, hotel is the mix of modern and old fashion style. Kitchen and common room are modern and clean, bath is authentic. Room is spacious and comfortable. Only thing is the location, it’s up on a hill and around 10 mins walk. So if you’re driving, recommended. If you’re taking public transport and a good walker, recommended. If not, still recommended. 10/10

GGuest User Our accommodation at Kusatsu Onsen was Hotel Sakurai. It is located at the entrance to the south side of the hot spring town and is a good location hotel with a few minutes walk to Yubatake. It was a large hotel in Kusatsu, and the public space in the building was luxurious and wide 々. Among them, there was also a stage of the ”Yumomi Show” held every night, and after dinner it was crowded with many guests. Our room was a twin room in the building called the main guest hall. For the dinner to enjoy, I chose ”Joshu beef and Japanese pork mochi pork shabu shabu & sashimi platter kaiseki”. Many hotels have private rooms at this level of meal content, but I was a little disappointed because it was a meal in a large hall with a wide table spacing. The food itself was delicious and the volume was sufficient. The hot springs were large like large hotels, and after arriving, I was able to enjoy the hot water in Kusatsu before going to bed and early in the morning.

This is the hotel taking 5 star from my own scoring so far in Japan. 1) Central location with free car park 2) Amazing Food with Kaiseki type traditional service(Dinner and breakfast). All the ingredients and the way that they prepare in nice atmosphere is amazing. I think it was the best food experience for me so far in Japan. 3) Indoor and open air onsen which is so clean. 4) Service quality and hospitality is top class. We wanted to give a surprise gift to our cousin. We asked their restaurant management to prepare a special closed ceramic bowl etc. They perfectly prepared more than our expectation. Moreover, they also gave their own small gift to our cousin. 5) Building also in traditional shape and well maintained. 6) Our room was traditional tatami style and it was big enough with bath tube and toilet. 7) First floor is the biggest souvenir shop in central kusatsu area.

GGuest UserWhen you arrive, there is no space to stay and drop your luggage. Originally, the car of the first arrival is shifted in the place where the car should be temporarily stopped, and it is good to carry it to the parking lot quickly ... At last, I hold the car and drop my luggage, and when I enter the entrance, I suddenly silently protrude the thermostat to my eyes and I am afraid. There should be a word there ... The carpet is a color that feels the year, and the carpet in the corridor is moldy. The interior and facilities of the room will have been renovated in recent years, and there is a point. However, the throat was painful the next day because there was no humidifier. The room guide is foreign and the Japanese is not transmitted well. It seems that it did not pass through the use of the bed, and when I returned from the meal, the futon was laid. There is no air cleaner, of course, that makes the dust a large layer by repaving. And the bed was hard with a mattress, and the body hurt the next day... In addition, if you ask for a fan for a hot friend, you will not understand it, and another staff (perhaps Japanese) who has finally understood it is ”no need”. No, it's hot to go up the bath, and you can't cut the heating or open the window for others. In other inn, I asked many times in winter, but it was the first experience to be disgusted... seriously this inn. As for the dish, the Joshu beef shabu shabu was ok. The special point was that * was delicious, and the yellow body was elastic and prepri. But the hot spring * of breakfast had a shell... Galilee. The bath had an inner bath and a cave bath of the time system instead of putting, but the entrance of the cave bath was ahead of the outer passage under the freezing point, so it was quite cold when going with yukata. The bath that only makes the wall a cave style is a little cheap with a conkri bare ... once it enters it is enough. The interior is not separately a secret room but under the open air = freezing point, so a vertical cave? Until you enter the Yakuyu bath in the back, you will walk naked and under the freezing point (be careful because it slips). There is the first bath next to you, so let's warm your body there and then go. The inner bath was a large bath + open air, and the open air was awesome ... cleaning? It was about three adults and the size of the full size, a little narrow. The public bath is that. It is not recommended as a general review. There is no wifi for the room at this time. As for the customer service and the service, the level is generally low, such as the arrival, the guide, the service of the meal, the foreign staff at the time of check-out, and the customer service attitude. I think I was shocked because I was a high plan, but I think I felt dissatisfaction even if it was cheap. I think I will not repeat it anymore.

MMayMayMay7Kazu Hot Spring is one of the three major medicinal springs in Japan, and the first of the 100 largest hot springs in Japan. But the price of each hot spring hotel in Kazu, the only one is the reasonable price of Yuyuan Hall. The Tangyuan Hall is right next to the soup dumplings. Every day, you must see the soup dumplings for breakfast in the restaurant, but the view of each room is not special, just look at the pedestrian walkway. They have a bathroom in each room and the bathroom is to the big bath under the ground. To be honest, maybe I just went to Matsuyama Hot Spring, there is a slight smell of medicine, but the hot spring water in Caojin has no taste, nor is it a collapse feeling, so I feel like soaking hot water. Because Tangyuan Hall has only breakfast options in booking.com, I couldn't try their dinner, but their breakfast was mainly bean-based and very healthy.

FFrankie821 ChowThe price is not expensive! There are 2 baths in the hotel, which are not big and can accommodate up to 4 people. The upper half is a private bath. You can reserve a time (45 minutes) when you enter the hotel. After midnight, it becomes a public bath for men and women. You can also go to this sister store - Source Ichino hot spring bath, which is no more than 5 minutes' walk away. There are self-service coffee machines and tea bags in the corridors on each floor of the hotel. Meals were not provided when booking the hotel, but when checking in the hotel said they would provide a simple free breakfast, which I found to be pretty good the next morning.

Very Good
GGuest UserPerhaps the biggest flaw: they don’t have non-smoking rooms. Aged hotel, great location, abismal architecture, ugliest building around the Yubatake, nice service, parking out of the town centre, but with a shuttle taking you back and forth any time of the day. The hotel onsen is ok, but not big enough to deal with peak times. Breakfast is fabulous. A true banquet. And service is so good that they’ll even bring you a nama tamago if you ask them. If you don’t want to pay for a traditional-looking bath house building, you’ll find nothing more convenient than this hotel. And if you have a problem with any ashtray smell of your rooms, they will desodorise it in a process that takes 1 hour. Perhaps not a bad idea to ask them to do this before your expected arrival time.

If walk, then you may take longer times. I booked half boards. Dinner included. The dinner is super good. Free flow of rice, soup n side condiment. Breakfast was Okies. Takeaway coffee cups prepare for you. I specially love the onsen. Robe n slippers had prepared in room for your usage. Kusatsu is a place to have a short getaway from Tokyo.

JJohnsonLocation - about 10min walk from the bus terminal at Kusatsu station. Walkable unless it's snowy or froze on the ground as part of the path is quite steep to walk up. Not hard to find as the town is quite close to everything. About 15min walk to yubatake for the famous onsen for pictures and local food and snacks. You can walk to the Sainokawara Onsen(open air public onsen) for about 8min which is located just behind the hotel itself. Service - they do provide transport to and from Yubatake with a specific timetable. They also have an open luggage area at the main hall if you area before check-in you could just leave the luggage and explore the town. They also have separate gender onsen with both indoor and outdoor facilities. They came around 7pm to my room to offer to set up my sleeping mattress. The dinner time was 6.45pm to 8pm and they may vary between seasons. You will be located in a seat in the dining room so don't worry about the crowd and having to fight for your seat. It's buffet style food and I read previous comments about food being cold. They aren't cold as it was heated around 60c ish but the moment food leaves the Bain Marie it will become cold especially during winter. Alcohol is included but you need to be 18 years old. They will start closing some stations including soft serve around 7.30pm so do get there earlier. Cleanliness - just an older building and maintenance pretty ok. You could tell from the design it's a bit outdated but it wasn't dirty or messy. Amenities - they have a Japanese sleep/bath robe at the main hall for guests to take if you need. There's no wifi in the room unfortunately and the only free wifi provided by the hotel is just located down at the main hall. I was given a Japanese style room which is pretty standard. It was on the 7th floor so it came with a pretty good view.

I used this hotel because I had to go to Kusatsu Onsen on short notice during the long weekend. I booked the plan that included dinner. During the meal, the hostess made the effort to greet each table. The dining area was small. The room was average. I was disappointed with the baths. There were two small ones. There was no open-air bath for women, so it was lonely. I guess this is the rank of the hotel if it's available for a reasonable price even during the long weekend, but I realized that I could have chosen a higher rank. It's close to the Yubatake, so it's good for people who value location. The parking lot was small and it took a long time to leave.
