Despite 2 of our party not turning up they were not fazed and provided us with a superb lunch with exceptional food and service. The table in the dining area had a lovely view over their well kept grounds. The fish main courses were cooked perfectly as were the accompanying veg and sauces. The food there is very good value for money

My cousins & I booked the Dovecliff for an afternoon family party. We normally gather at someone's house for these yearly get togethers, but this year 50+ of decided we'd go to a hotel. What a fantastic decision. Everyone had a great time, the food was great quality and lots of it. Plenty to parcel up to take away too! The staff couldn't have been more helpful or professional. We intend to return next year as I doubt we could find anywhere better. Special thanks to Ella, Ella, Lola and Alex for looking after us all so brilliantly.

I tried to organise a family/friends event as a surprised. I was treated with contempt when I made enquiries in person. I did email them directly about my experience - but no response. Would never give this business the satisfactory of my attention.

From arrival to departure, this was a top class stay in an exceptional hotel. The atmosphere was welcoming and friendly and we felt immediately comfortable. We had dinner both nights of our short stay and enjoyed both meals enormously. The room we had, with a river view, was large, comfortable and very tastefully appointed. The bed was comfortable and the bathroom well appointed. What made the visit so special was the friendliness and care from all of the staff.

I organised a surprise 80th birthday for my Mum and held it in the drawing room at Dovecliff Hall Hotel. Nothing was too much trouble from the start, a couple of members of our family have allergen requirements and these were dealt with swiftly. The food was excellent!! Decent size portions and very flavoursome, and all of the staff were very attentive and extremely helpful. Would recommend to anyone thinking of holding a party or just going for lunch.

Wonderful stay.could not fault anything. All six of us commented on what a lovely break.Garden facing bedrooms with bath, shower ,comfy bed.The evening meal was excellent. We booked a DBB deal which was value for money. The bar is very small, only seating twelve people so if Hotel full needs another overspill area to sit. The staff were all attentive, helpful and spoke well of the Hotel.Breakfast did not disappoint, full English or Continental, hot and tasty.Check that no wedding on as it would be very busy, although they may not take other bookings. From initial booking to checking out, regular welcome updates. The Hotel is old and certainly quaint, but adds to the ambiance.Everywhere was clean and had a feel of a country house. One of the best Hotels we have stayed in.

After spending two nights at this hotel I can well understand why Dovecliff has won the Travellers’ Choice award for this year. The bedrooms are extremely comfortable and our upgraded room was very large and elegant with wonderful views over the gardens. The staff could not be more helpful and friendly. The food was wonderful, tasty and well presented at both dinner and breakfast. The only improvement I can suggest is installing a lift as the main staircase is very large if carrying luggage or if you had walking difficulties (although I believe there are some ground floor rooms). Already thinking of excuses to stay there again!

On arrival we received a warm welcome from the receptionist who let us check in early. The room was very spacious with a beautiful view overlooking the river but the room needed some updating. We enjoyed our stay which was sadly spoilt by the breakfast waiter. The first morning my husband had to go and look for him to ask for a condiment. My husband asked for fresh orange, the waiter abruptly pointed to the table where there was an empty jug. The breakfast however was very well cooked and tasty. The next morning when we went down for breakfast we went to sit at the same table as the previous morning but the waiter said no you are to sit here. I kindly asked if it was possible for us to sit at the desired table as the table set up was in direct sunlight next to a family with a buggy. I said we could come back later if that helps as there was one place setting needed. I thought the waiter would of been accommodating as we are the paying guest and it wasn't too much trouble. The waiter stormed off and we heard cutlery crashing. My husband contacted the Manager who offered us an upgrade with our next stay. Sadly because of our experience this was not an option as we wouldn't return therefore it was left unresolved. Overall apart from our ordeal at breakfast, beautiful Hotel and lovely grounds.
