We booked the hotel for location near a wedding at Creeksea Place. Excellent value and we just needed a place to crash. Excellent value and for the price we were very impressed. We asked to book in early, just collect our keys, and arrived just as they opened. Our room was ready and we were able to get our luggage in. Very warm welcome. Room was comfortable (room 3) nice en-suite, with all we need. Toiletries and towels all there. Very clean. Remember it is an old building so the floors are quirky, which I think gives it character. It is a working pub, so while it is open there is noise outside, but this is a quite riverside town and all ended at a reasonable time. Then very quiet, with the clock tower marking the quarter hour. There was some noise when the hotel air conditioning started up occasionally but this just made a background hum and was no problem. The room had a tv and plentiful supply of tea/coffee/biscuits in the room. Delivery for the pub on Friday, so there was some noise, but not an unreasonable hour (7.30am) in the morning. A very good breakfast, cooked fresh for us, with all we needed. Makes such a nice change from the kept warm buffets you often get at hotels. There is a nice breakfast area, looking out at the quay, where the ferry runs from and you can take trips to see the seals etc. There is a large bar area and a nice restaurant with windows to the front. A great location in the town, on the front, with ample parking at the rear of the hotel. All the local attractions on your doorstep. I would definitely stay again.
