Great food, clean rooms, very very friendly staff from reception to waiters to kitchen All round great experience, lots of history. Very central and quick to get to the tourist places, the ox tail was exceptionally good so was the fish. Will definitely stop there again on my next trip to Bulawayo. Off road secure parking is a must in Bulawayo otherwise you get clamped and it's USA $ 40 to get unclamped even if you have paid parking..

A lost treasure in the heart of a vibrant old city. Although I was brought up in this city , I was not aware of the Club until my recent visit. Old Colonial club , now a hotel which is exceptionally clean and well kept for it's age. There was not a speck of dirt anywhere on all three floors of meeting rooms , conference rooms and eating hall. Above all , the attitude , efficiency and friendliness of the staff was some of the best I have ever experienced , from the general manager to reception staff and the club secretary , all had the welfare and comfort of the guests as a priority , for which I thank them all. Some associates of mine were so impressed that their annual future visits will be spend at the Bulawayo Club. A great experience. Allan Ross-Smith

As soon as I found this place on the internet I knew I had to add a night here to our trip! We love characterful places and this did not disappoint! The plumbing is very old, it is not luxurious, but it is eccentric and you can 'feel' the history here (no matter your views on that history - different times!). There are ancient members' books on display in reception and we enjoyed reading about suggestions for occasionally allowing ladies into the club back in the 1920s! Our suite was large and we loved walking around the building - ask for the keys to the billiards room! The bar was like stepping back in time, the staff were extremely friendly and our dinner in the courtyard was a delight. Secure parking, though we did get blocked in by a roofing contractor who took a while to descend to move his car! Unfortunately the credit card machine was playing up at check-out time, but luckily we had enough USD cash! Great location right in the centre of the city, and would also recommend the nearby Railway Museum for anyone with an interest in climbing all over old steam locomotives (no H&S here, lol).

This is one of Bulawayo’s secret jewels. Don’t be put off by all the street vendors and the noise outside because inside you will find an elegant, peaceful and charming time capsule and retreat. My husband and I spent a wonderful four days here, welcomed by Simon and Clive and the team, including the ever helpful Tapewa. Our suite on the top floor was comfortable (especially the bed) and spacious and the food was also excellent. We particularly recommend eating in the beautiful courtyard. We highly recommend you stay here on your next visit to Bulawayo. Thank you to everyone at the Bulawayo Club for a truly memorable stay!

If you want every modern convenience and a generic hotel stay, this is not the place for you. If you enjoy history and old gracious buildings, with old fashioned high dining and full English breakfast, this is your place! We stayed for four nights. The place is aged but they are upgrading rooms even now. We had a redone bath with walk in shower, my sister-in-law had one of the not yet renovated baths. Both were clean and tidy. We enjoyed the breakfast, full English and they were open to modifications. First time I have ever had coffee from a French press. The place is either wildly historic or down at heel, depending on your perspective. I prefer the former, and enjoyed roaming around and examining the antique furniture and furnishings. Full of memories of a time gone by (and for the better, but the history is cool). We dined in one evening. Food was good (although they brought me the wrong chicken dish) and the dining room was formal and lovely, if musty. The whole place needs a good airing out but I absolutely would stay again. Staff were all very accommodating and gracious.

We had the most wonderful evening staying here. Established in 1895 it’s one of the oldest buildings in zimbabwe. The grandeur of the entrance and stairs is still there, a little faded but a calm and gentle welcoming atmosphere pervades . Dinner was excellent as was the service and our room so comfortable . Piping hot water and a view from the balcony of what was once a grand old part of the city. Will stay again
