THE WORST!! Staying at The Colony Inn was nothing short of a horror show. They had asked for a $100 cash deposit, CASH ONLY! The moment my family walked in, we were greeted with broken furniture and stained bedding that screamed neglect. The comforters had holes and stains. We were later met with cockroaches in every corner, making it impossible to feel at ease. The room also lacked essential smoke detectors, they were all removed, posing a serious fire hazard. We decided to check out and leave the area. The Colony Inn needs a complete overhaul to even come close to acceptable standards. They do not issue refunds but, who could possibly stay here?

Me and my son stayed here to go to Knotts. They kindly let us park our vehicle from 20 until 2pm when the room was done while we were at Knotts. Came back hot and feet hurt. Hopped in the really clean pool. It was 8 feet deep on one end. My son said good for canon balls. Price was good. The staff is really helpful as well. The tv wasn’t programmed right and I I walked in the office to tell them. He told someone and they walked back with me. Asked permission to come in. Left the door open propped with a chair for both of our safety. Fixed in minutes. There is a microwave. Fridge. Ironing board. Small desk and tv . Absolutely will stay here again.

So I gave this a descent review because the people working there are just doing their job. So my story isn't a good one in regards to my guests who I booked a room for my sister and her boyfriend. I got the key and let them know there would be 2 people (front desk). I gave my sister the key told her where the room was and went to the store to grab her some snacks and drinks. next thing I know her boyfriend finds me at the store and comes up to me and says that she was told that she can not stay there. That I needed to call them because they can't make calls out of the hotel lobby after a certain hour. Apparently when she tried to find the room she could not so she went to the front desk. They asked for the key and when she gave it to them they asked her if she picked this up off the floor. They asked for her id and she did not have one. So, I called to see what was happening and let them know that yes that was my sister and I had given her the key to get in the room. I was told that everyone who is staying in that room has to provide an I.D. I already knew my sister did not have one as she has been telling me she needed to get a new one. (sadly she is very unorganized and doesn't have much sense of responsibility in life) So her being (dumb) began telling them that they were trying to rip me off and steal the money as they told her to leave the premises (before I was able to let them know that it was my sister and I had given her the key) and would not be giving a refund. I don't blame them...I know my sister and she has a sense of entitlement and a short fuse. I apologized knowing that even though I wasn't there, she probably exploded the situation that could have been handled with a quick talk. I said I understood and I asked to close out the room (they make you give them $100 cash as a deposit on the room which they give you back upon turning your key back in). I was informed that even though I hadn't stepped foot in the room that I was not going to be offered a refund for the room but could get my deposit back. I went to the desk signed the paperwork and got my deposit back. So a simple warning: make sure everyone has their ID have all your ducks in a row with them when checking into this hotel or you risk being told you can't stay there and you will not get a refund for the room you paid for regardless of if you even have stepped inside or not. That said I get it....I live in this area...while I would not call Buena Park the worst or even a bad place...sometimes less than desirable people hang out and rent in these areas and businesses need to be on their guard for people they would not wish to stay at their establishment. A sign right at the front desk says "right to refuse service". I just wish there was a more clear policy...I don't think I;ve ever had to give the i.d.'s of everyone staying in a hotel room before other than the person who booked the room. Ahh well...live and learn.

I'll start with the positives. I have an auto-immune disease which makes stairs difficult. They put us in a room on the bottom floor at first to adhere to my request. However, this room was disgusting, and they then moved us up to a second-floor room. The rooms are newly remodeled. The headboards on the beds are beautiful. The floors are nicely redone, and the bathroom looks nice as well. The walls are recently repainted but unfortunately have not been wiped down since there is dirt on the walls. This is where the positive ends. This is one of the worst places I have ever stayed. The beds are disgusting and there is not a comforter. There are people out and about all throughout the night. It seems like the motel is being used as a halfway house or something. There are definitely people who are living there. Some family living down the walkway from where my family was staying had their little child up screaming outside until past 11:00 pm. There are also people up outside in the parking area making a huge amount of noise. People in the motel were smoking **** everywhere. The rooms might have signs on them that say no smoking, however, it is evident that people are smoking it throughout the entire complex. Our 2nd night in the room we came back to the room smelling like ****. The 3rd night there was screaming and explicit language from girls outside in the parking lot. Then in the morning a man around 7:00 am was screaming telling someone to get the "F" out of there and that the person could go ahead and call the police. That went on for over 5 minutes. The entire neighborhood seems extremely unsafe so much to where I didn't want to walk to Knotts Berry Farm. There were 3 towels for 4 people, and they were never replaced. I had to ask for more towels, and they gave us 2 more. A total of 5 towels for 4 people for 4 nights. There are no hand towels, and the soap made my skin so dry I had to buy extra lotion from the Walgreens next door. Housekeeping never came in for 4 nights. Not once! They never emptied the trash or anything. There is trash on the walkways and some trash that could be tripped on was left on the stairs for the duration of our stay. This Wi-Fi was constantly dropping. There were some times when it would drop every few minutes. The water temperature was adequate. However, the water pressure was almost non-existent. The beds were not the most uncomfortable that I have slept on but not the best. There were only 2 flat, crappy pillows for 4 people. Most hotels tend to have 4 per bed. There is graffiti in the room and one of the dresser drawers did not have a bottom to it. There is not a breakfast and when asked if they even had a plastic fork they just simply said, "no". Use this information as you want. I think if I had known all of this, I would have paid the extra $50 and stayed at a different motel that does not have long-term residents.

The only good thing about the hotel was the location, close to the Parks, however, website says include breakfast and that was not true, beds were ok, but the room was not clean, dust everywhere (AC, closet), bathroom looked dirty and the space between the closet and bathroom had lots of fruit gnats (don't know why), bathroom sit was worn out as it was almost to throw it to the garbage, shower pipe was not adjusted and leaked. The worse thing is that after buying some snacks to have them for the park visit and there was a roach inside of the fridge (small, but was a redflag eitherway), we stayed two nights but we took all lugagge and things we had so the room can be cleaned when we got back, surprise was, the room was not cleaned, no change of towels, nothing that worth the cash we left at the time we arrived as deposit. I doubt we go back anytime in the future, misleading advertising (breakfast included) was the first red flag, room dirty, shabby bathroom and noxious fauna is not a good combination; and the cherry on the cake is to request cash deposit after all Bad bad bad

This place is trash. When we arrived the bathroom door knob was broken and my husband and nephew got locked inside. Security had to kick door in to fix doorknob. Door still not fully close after. Very disappointed and had to pay a $100.00 deposit at the beginning of our stay. Staff did not speak English very well. Wi-Fi was spotty. Beds were very uncomfortable. Do not book a room here ever. Very disappointed for how I was charged.
