Hampton Inn & Suites Southport

Needed a hotel after a 10 hour drive. Called ahead- Chris at front desk was great on phone and even better in person when we arrived. Room was big clean and perfect. Location was great - 5 to 10 minutes from local restaurants. Chris was very knowledgeable of restaurants in the area. It was nice to be treated that way after a long drive. Would definitely make this hotel a stop again if needed in this area

This is the place to stay if your in this area! Wonderful staff, large rooms, comfortable beds! The breakfast was delicious! The variety of breakfast options was vast. The attended/chef was a sweet gentleman! What an asset to the Inn. We will be coming back.

This is a first rate Hampton Inn. As a Hilton Honors member, I checked in on my app and got a digital key (which worked great—some hotels it does not) and went right to my room. The room I had booked (two queens, which was cheaper than the king room) was huge and all I needed. Front desk staff were available to help with any questions, and parking was easy. My only challenge, not their fault, was the heavy traffic when I left at 745AM. A left turn on the high proved impossible, so I went right and turned around someplace. I stay in Hampton Inns about 5-6 times a year and this was a very good one and I highly recommend it.

Our family has stayed at this Hampton Inn many times with no issues. This trip was not the same. Upon arrival to our room, we found dirty/stained blankets, an uncleaned shower (hair from the last visitor), and a general sense of “not tidy.” We dealt with it for the first night, as we didn’t get in until midnight and were too tired to move etc. We requested that the room be cleaned when we went out the next morning, hoping to return to a much cleaner room. Half way through our day out, we received a phone call from the hotel saying they found a bug in our room, and did see that the beds were gross. We were comped our night that first night and moved to another room. While this was appreciated, if there’s bugs in one room, there’s bugs in the other most likely. We moved to the new room and it was also dirty - there were lip/kiss marks all over the mirror on the sliding door to the bathroom. Aside from the room debacle, let’s discuss the pool. I came back to this hotel because we always enjoyed the pool option in the evenings. Not this time. The pool was bright green. While I’m assuming it was safe to swim in, as it wasn’t closed, who wants to put their small children (or themselves) in a green pool??! How disappointing! My kids were quite upset as they had looked forward to the pool as part of the vacation. Over all, we won’t return unless things improve. This sadly seems to keep being a trend among the Hampton Inn brand. After being a diamond member and staying in the Hilton chain many, many years it may be time to move on.

We made a quick trip to Southport to celebrate our anniversary. We were late leaving home because workers were cleaning up our bathroom after a catastrophe caused by careless workers installing fiber optic cables cut our sewer line. Everything at this hotel was fine. The room and bathroom were spotless. The breakfast had a good assortment of tasty treats. I wish we could have stayed longer.

Positives—We loved the size of our room with a kitchen space and a couch. All of the front desk staff we interacted with were great, friendly and helpful. The whole hotel was clean and we could not hear any roadside noise. We also enjoyed viewing the baby alligator and turtles in the retention pond next door. Negatives— we could hear our neighbors above and next door until quite late at night. Better soundproofing is needed. Breakfast the first day was disorganized and below average. The second day was better. Need wooden tongs to retrieve items from the toaster.

This is the best hotel we stay at. Staff is the best as is the hotel. It is located not far from downtown which has great bars and restaurants. Racine is one of the best people we have ever dealt with. She is so professional and kind. She is the reason we go back every year.

Extremely clean and inviting hotel. Great location. Staff were very friendly. Comfortable beds great bathroom amenities. Hampton has truly thought about all of the touches that matter for travelers. Management team has done a great job with this hotel and team. Keep up the great work.

I cannot thank this hotel enough !!!! They were so accommodating Noah and Erin were Phenomenal!!!! The Rooms were fantastic and clean and comfortable! I would like to thank one of the cleaning ladies she was so sweet and helped out my 84 year old mom anytime she asked her for anything!! Please come and stay you wont be disappointed!!!!❤
