The hotel is very old, has a strong smell, the rooms are small, and there is no service. Don't be fooled.

Worst experience ever! Smells bad the moment you enter the room and carpet feels moist which is absolutely gross. Asked for hairdryer and reception claimed that they only have 1 for the whole motel (I wouldn't even call this a hotel). Shower head leaks badly & sprays the whole toilet during shower. The knob falls off the moment I touched it. Booked this place for a short transit & shower but did not feel comfortable doing either & checked out early instead. Complete rubbish & waste of money.

Simply put - it was terrible. We had a Premium Queen Room with a window booked but what we got was far worse than anything we ever experience. The bed was reasonable comfortable but apart from that, the room was in some back hallway with no windows, natural light or airflow, it was filthy with plastic bits on the floor and the bathroom being best described as disgusting. There was no TV, no cups or glasses and the shower flooded the small bathroom when you had a shower. With the lack of a window the whole room filled up with steam as soon as one of us had as shower. If a health inspector looked at the room we were in, I am convinced that this room as well as all the others off that dark hallway would get condemned. We have stayed at the Turbot House many times before and whilst the rooms are small and basic in the past they were always ok. This time we were told that we got this dreadful room because the hotel was booked out and we booked in late. We were at the property at 12.00 and were told that the room was not ready, which is fine. We were asked to come back before 8.00 and were there by 7.30. It is inexcusable that they didn't keep our Premium Room for us that we had booked and paid for.

so utterly disgusting. mould everywhere, there was a roach crawling around outside of the bathroom door which you could barely move in. had to buy jandals to prevent the spread of whatever bacteria was on that floor. absolutely filthy, the floor was almost slimy, there was scribbling all over the cupboards. i do not know how this place is still allowed to be open. i visited and spent the night alone and was put into room #1 where everybody could see me enter and leave my room from the front door, it felt very unsafe and it was difficult to sleep. be warned you will have to pay an extra $100 deposit that only gets refunded approx. a week after checking out.

This place needs to be taken down of booking platforms. It is so disgusting. My room had mould on the walls, fridge door could not be closed, Blinds were broken. The bathroom was so tiny you couldn't swing a cat in there. It was just dreadful 0.5/10 rating

Awful. It seems at one point this was a decent hotel but it’s gone downhill in the last year so previous positive reviews are still higher than the negative on booking platforms. Booked through Agoda, checked in and checked out straight away upon seeing the state of the room. I have travelled the world and stayed in plenty of budget places and this is the first time I have ever been unable to stay a night. Complained to Agoda that they need to remove this listing and also they did not publish my negative review which is why their average score is higher than most platforms. The reviews are also auto ordered in a way to show positive reviews first. Shame on Agoda. What was wrong: Whole hotel smelt musty and like cigarette smoke. I checked in at 9pm and felt so uneasy and that was before I even bumped into anyone. People staying there did not feel like holiday go-ers. They were long term residents and (I feel terrible saying this) but I got the impression it was a halfway house and the residents gave me junkie/homeless vibes. Either that or I can see dead people because every single person gave me the creeps. Had to lug my suitcase up 4 flights of wooden stairs and had several encounters with the locals there. Lift was broken but I think I would have been to afraid to use the lift even if it was working. My room stunk like paint fumes but there was paint peeling off the walls so it wasn’t from paint. I did try to air it out with the aircon and window open but didn’t touch the smell. Cockroaches and silverfish went running in the bathroom (many). Based off the other reviews I read I felt I actually got one of the better rooms so I knew there was no point changing rooms. The after hours manager was understanding when I said I felt too uneasy to stay there and they gave me a refund via Agoda. That is the only positive thing I can say about the place. Even then I was happy to pay $110 to NOT stay there. This place needs to be delisted as a hotel. Spend an extra $90 a night and go to a decent place where you feel safe.

The building was under refurbishment, so no lift available - i was on last floor. The whole hotel was dirty, including the small single room. The window was one of those that cannot be opened - only A/C could be used. I honestly won't recommend it.

This is bad , real bad absolutely disgusting , the sheets had stains on them, the pillows smelt of urine ,couldn't have a shower as the taps were broken, aircon was disgusting , the maid turned up while l was having a sponge with a cloth from my own bag ,she didn't seem to mind and went about cleaning around the bed but l had to come out in the nude to get my clothes, i told her to leave but she wouldn't go , as l went back in the bathroom she followed me and stared at me completely naked , l have never been so embarrassed, then she gave me a look as to say well do want me to,,,,,,,,, on my departure l left a very detailed note as to my disgust, please do not go anywhere near the place
