They left an ozone generator running in our room, which caused us to be seriously ill the whole night, and had us coughing up green stuff. Our lungs felt shredded. There was a distinct odor in the room when we checked in, but it was more of a chemical smell, so we just attributed it to cleaning agents. By 1 am, we were up off and on with headaches and an uncomfortable cough. It wasn't until the next morning when I saw the label on the random black box that said "not to be used in occupied spaces". Well that threw a red flag, and immediately sent me down the rabbit hole of warnings against ozone generators. We checked out, and the guy at the desk seemed very alarmed that it was left running the whole time. He gave us the email to the GM, and we left. Severe long term effects can result after 8 hours of exposure. We were in there about 14 hours. So that's unsettling. I messaged the GM as soon as we got home, to which he responded with "I'll forward this to our attorney". I had to reach out again before ever hearing from their attorney, but when he did respond, he said his client would be inclined to refund our stay of we agree to signing a non-disclosure agreement. I explained my reluctance to signing based on the potential for lasting effects, but ultimately decided I wasn't wanting a long drawn out process, so we agreed to sign whatever just so we could get our refund. After agreeing to their own terms, crickets... the attorney wouldn't respond. In fact, I sent probably 3 emails before the attorney responded this morning. He stated they would have refunded our money of we had signed, but we refused. Seriously?!?!?! I mean you don't have to be an attorney to know how email trails work. Yhey're time stamped and everything. So now he claims he can't satisfy me, and will no longer respond. That's fine. I would have signed the non-disclosure agreement before, but since I didn't, TRAVELERS BEWARE!!! Do not stay at this hotel!!!!! Especially under the misconception that it's somehow safer because it's in Brentwood.
