Mohe isn't very big; you can drive around the hotel several times and see everything. The hotel seems to be one of the newer ones in the area. The facilities are good, but one room didn't have body lotion, and the other didn't have bottled water, making the service seem a bit rushed. They did provide complimentary frozen pear juice, birch soda, and fruit, which my child enjoyed. The room had an air purifier, so I didn't smell anything, but the hallway had a strong odor."

Walking short distances in the freezing temperatures of -20 to -30 degrees Celsius was much more strenuous than usual, making a reliable guesthouse owner in Mohe during winter incredibly important. On our first night, the owner even treated us to Northeastern-style barbecue! We wondered how the owner made that money! 😂 The owner picked us up from the Beiji Village bus station upon arrival and with our luggage, and even bought our train tickets in advance and took us to the station upon departure – so convenient! It felt less like a hotel and more like visiting relatives who keep refilling your bowl because you look “too thin.” This became the perfect launchpad for my Harbin expedition, three nights of settling in, warming up, and learning that charm travels better than luxury. Now, the honest bone (every good dog buries one): I’d give this a 4.1 stars if decimals existed. Since they don’t, here’s a conditional 5-star — contingent on tighter cleanliness under beds, chairs, and in the toilet. "The room view was absolutely amazing! We had so much fun with the '潑水成冰' (literally 'splashing water into ice') game! Sitting by the window, with the curtains open, we could see the beautiful snowscape outside and even watched fireworks set off by other hotel guests 🧨. The facilities are great, and I loved the toiletries—L'Occitane products, a big plus! 👍 Oh, and the owner provided plenty of teacups and tea sets in the room, which was really convenient...
